CHAPTER 468: BROWN PANTS IN WAR

Pablo described the upcoming war as the war to end all wars.

Cupid heard him and she kind of agreed.

When evil rises all around the world, war would be the only thing to take place. There was no other way.

If a man killed the father of the man, then the man whose father was killed will kill the man who killed his father.

Like that, if a king of a kingdom died because of some other kingdom, then that kingdom would face a war with the kingdom who killed their king.

Also, it could be as simple as just wanting to expand the land of their kingdom. One can wage war against any kingdom on a whim.

If people had compassion towards each other and worried about the lives of the soldiers, then they would not think of doing a war. But since they had become evil, compassion was the last thing they would have in their heart.

"So you will fight this war thinking that you are doing the right thing?" Cupid asked.

Pablo chuckled. ’I am the worst person to talk about doing the right thing, Angel. I just think that the more people die today, the less evil people would be alive in this world.’

"Including you?"

Pablo smiled.

’I won’t die. The only reason I died on earth was because I had gotten old and also, I had already destroyed and killed as many presidents as I wanted, so I had become lazy and didn’t fight all that hard to save myself.

Though, I really didn’t like how I was treated before being killed. But that’s in the past. Now, I am young, I have strength, army, and most of all a goal to accomplish. The goal given to me by the Gods. After finishing that goal, I also have the right to ask for three wishes from them. So, I won’t die.’

Cupid shook her head. "You have too much confidence in yourself."

Pablo laughed as his horse carried on walking.

"Everyone!" Someone shouted.

It came from Pablo’s army and everyone looked there.

Pablo saw the source and he knew the man too well.

Draxus Maverick.

"What happened?" Pablo asked, no horses stopped walking.

Draxus pointed his hand to his left, at Flashy and said:

"Flashy shit his pants!"

"What?!" Everyone exclaimed and in those exclaims, Flashy had joined too.

Pablo looked at him. "Why are you shouting? It’s you who spoiled your pants!"

"I didn’t. I didn’t do anything." Flashy replied and he said that while looking at Harlia. He didn’t want to look like a wimp in front of the love of his life.

Harlia also stared at Flashy and her gaze went to his pants.

She saw nothing unusual and so did Pablo, so they both looked at Draxus.

Draxus looked at Flashy. "He definitely shit on his pants. Look, his whole pants are brown."

Flashy clenched his jaw. "This is their original colour, you bastard."

"Why would you wear brown pants in a war?" Draxus asked.

Flashy’s brows twitched. "Is it written somewhere that wearing brown pants is banned in war? And this is my favorite color. Just like killers wear red clothes to hide the blood on them, I wore these pants to hide if I did shit my pants. But I hadn’t done it yet. I swear."

...

Everyone became silent.

They stared at Flashy with a blank face and they would have done for a few more minutes, if not for...

"Pfft.."

Someone breaking out in laughter.

And when everyone saw who was laughing, their eyes went wide.

It was Harlia. The Admiral.

Seeing her laugh, Pablo remembered the time when he had met her for the first time. She laughed like that at that time as well.

And seeing her laugh, everyone else also joined her as both the armies laughed.

But Pablo’s eyes went to Draxus and when Draxus saw his Czar looking at him, he nodded with a smile.

Pablo understood and shook his head. He returned the smile and looked ahead.

Draxus deliberately did this. He forced Flashy to say something like that by accusing him and his plan worked. He knew Flashy would say something laughable and the man did just that. The mood became light again and chatting began to take place more than ever.

Pablo and Harlia let everyone talk as this might be the last time they were laughing like that.

Their voyage carried on and they took no breaks along the way. The only rest they would get was after reaching the Crucible.

The soldiers who were on their feet walking would take turns with the soldiers who were on horses.

Pablo would have allowed all the soldiers to have horses but he decided against it as he was afraid they might become too comfortable and not perform well in the war. Also, the most important thing. Everyone said that horses won’t enter the Ashen Crucible. They would die but they won’t enter the place at all.

Pablo would like to see it happening and if the horses really wouldn’t enter, then he was fine without them anyway.

Like that, the sun had set down.

They had left Numb city at twelve p.m and after eight hours, which Pablo found out by asking Cupid, they finally reached the entrance of the Ashen Crucible—The Dread Horizon.

There was no gate at the entrance and Pablo saw it first hand why this place had a name like that.

He and everyone else stood far from the ground and Pablo darted his eyes at the ground.

The ground had grey dust all over it and smoke was still seeping out of the ground but nothing was burning.

A gust of wind came from there and it splashed on the faces of both Pablo and Harlia.

After that, Pablo finally understood why this place was feared for generations.

Because as soon as the wind caressed his face, he swore he heard the whispers of the Dead and the dying roar of the Dragon King—El’Dorado.
