Chapter 469: Hell Remembers Me
CHAPTER 469: HELL REMEMBERS ME
Harlia went wide eyed and so were the other soldiers whoever came into contact with the wind coming out from Ashen Crucible.
All of them, like Pablo, heard the whispers and roars of the dragons but unlike the others, Pablo didn’t find it chilling.
He found it interesting and dangerous and he won’t take anything less than this for a war like that.
He darted his eyes at Jaun, the writer and poet, and noticed that even while shivering he continuously wrote in his book.
He is a passionate one. Nice.
Pablo let Jaun be and smelled the air around.
The smell of death. Nice again.
Pablo believed the smell would only become more profound after the war would finally happen.
He looked around and he found nothing but silence.
Not even insects were there.
At the entrance of the place, a board was placed at the side which said in capital letters: DO NOT ENTER.
And below that board was a skeleton lying and Pablo figured the skeleton must belong to the man who had stuck the sign board beside the entrance.
He died while planting the board. Does this ground kill just by reaching closer to it?
Pablo thought for a while but he would only know about it when he does the same. So...
"Let’s go." He said.
"Yeah. Let’s go, boss." Flashy replied and turned around.
Many of the soldiers did the same.
Pablo clenched his jaw.
Flashy saw that and he raised both his hands in the air.
"I am sorry but do you really want to go inside? I heard the cries of people, you know. The dead."
All the other soldiers also nodded.
Pablo sighed. "I also heard that but that is no reason to not go inside."
Flashy raised his brows. "What more reason do you want? We literally heard the cries of people through the wind. What other proof do you want from that place to not visit it?"
Pablo frowned. "You surely grew a spine. Talking to me like that."
Flashy raised his hands again. "I am not arguing with you, Boss. I am a soldier too. I don’t want to go inside it."
Pablo pinched his eyebrows.
He looked at Gerald. "Are you going to tell him or shall I do it?"
Gerald raised his hand and took the lead.
"Son, why are you like this?"
Flashy’s mouth went agape. "You too, dad? I might be sounding like a coward right now but there is a reason no one visited this place. I came all the way here thinking that the rumors might be false. But after seeing it, the rumors were true and I don’t want to go inside it."
Gerald let out a heavy sigh. "Son, did you forget? We are not going inside it anyway."
Flashy’s brows twitch.
Gerald lost it. "We are not going inside for fucks sake! Quit staring like a bitch!"
Flashy broke out of his stupor or whatever he was in.
He jerked his both ears and after a second, he looked at Gerald.
"Did you just call me a bitch?"
"Yes." Gerald was honest.
Flashy clenched his fists. "Why?"
"Because you ar—"
"SHUT UP!" Pablo shouted right on time.
He didn’t let the argument go further and cleared everything himself.
"Flashy, you and Gerald are supposed to leave for Hollow from here to find your fucking Mom. How can you forget something like this? You don’t have to enter inside this place. And when you both will come back after placing Tessa in a safe place, we all will be already inside so you won’t feel any fear to enter by then. Get it?"
Flashy heard Pablo and his eyes suddenly found light.
He broke into a smile.
"Yes. How could I forget? I have to save my mom. Alright, Boss. We are going. We will return with good news."
Pablo sighed. "Get lost."
Flashy nodded and moved his horse to the direction of the Hollow as soon as possible.
Gerald did the same.
And talking about horses, Pablo noticed that all the horses were acting strange as well.
They were constantly making sounds, noises and just when Pablo was watching all this, his horse suddenly stood on two legs.
Pablo lost his balance and found himself on the ground. But he managed to keep on standing and his horse, after doing that, ran away.
Following his horse, one by one all the horses started doing the same and Pablo nodded.
So the horses news was correct. They do run away.
In just thirty seconds, no horses were present anymore to any soldier and now all of them were standing on the ground.
Pablo looked at Harlia and the Admiral was doing the same.
In both their eyes, there was only one question.
What to do now?
The soldiers and everyone else was scared.
Harlia and Pablo were the only ones who were ready to go inside.
Draxus would also join them as Pablo was sure that the man doesn’t fear anything as well.
But Pablo wanted everyone to not be afraid of the place and for that, he raced his mind for an answer.
After only one second, Pablo found an answer and it was as simple as brushing your teeth.
To make the soldiers not afraid of the place, he had to take the first charge himself.
That’s why Pablo turned around and faced all of them.
"Alright. I understand you all are scared to enter. That’s why I will show you how it is done. All your fears are baseless. Whispers of the dead? Roars of dragons? Bullshit. The only thing this place would remember..."
Pablo turned around and began walking towards the Ashen Crucible.
"Is The Fear Of Pablo."
The soldiers watched with bated breaths, the Admiral did the same. No one stopped Pablo and Sera would have followed Pablo if not for him refusing her through his eyes.
As Pablo reached closer and closer to the place, everyone reached closer and closer to scream.
But to theirs and even Pablo’s surprise, nothing happened and before everyone knew it.
Pablo was inside the Ashen Crucible—The Dread Horizon.
