CHAPTER 214: THE WEDDING [4]
[Akmair’s Pov]
"Lewin!" Akamir yelled, looking at Lewin. "I came to bargain."
Lewin didn’t give a damn as he pointed at him. "Kill him!!"
’Ah, this fucker would really marry a Sephrina.’
Akmair couldn’t help but let out a sigh as he rubbed the back of his neck.
He really wanted to avoid conflict prior to opening the door but it looked like it was inevitable.
The guards that were stationed around the place all rushed at him at once.
’This is going to be tough..’
He exhaled softly, lowered his body as his spirit energy covered his hands.
The moment the first guard got close, Akamir spun low and swept his legs out, knocking the man flat.
He ducked under a sword slash, grabbed the attacker’s wrist, and slammed him into the ground.
Another charged in with a spear.
Akamir sidestepped and grabbed the shaft, snapping it clean in two before using one end to jab the guard in the stomach.
Three more circled around.
One of the guards tried to stab him from behind, but Akamir twisted at the last second, letting the blade glance off his shoulder.
He retaliated with a powerful knee to the man’s ribs, sending him flying across the room.
More guards poured in.
He gathered his spirit energy, focusing it into a blast that burst from his body, flinging everyone back.
The entire hall rattled as guards crashed into walls and pillars.
Only Lewin remained standing at the far end.
"You’ve grown," Lewin muttered, drawing his sword.
"I had good teachers," Akamir replied, cracking his neck.
"I was going to let you live after all this but..."
Lewin’s sword began to glow with crimson mana as he flicked his hand.
"...It looks like you are going to die by my hands."
Akmair was ready to make a move but he abruptly stopped.
He tilted his head as he glanced past Lewin.
Lewin, confused, looked behind him as he found Sephrina standing there.
"What are you—?"
Sephrina abruptly raised her hand as she said. "I wish you were sent flying outside the kingdom."
Lewin’s eyes widened as a strong gust of wind hit him square in the face.
His entire body was thrown back as he burst out of the church into the sky.
Akamir blinked as he remembered. ’Right, she can bring her imagination to reality.’
He immediately felt stupid as he couldn’t understand why he didn’t think of using her power before.
Akamir walked towards Sephrina who was clearing her ears, eyes and nose which were now bleeding.
Akamir quickly rushed towards her as he took out a handkerchief.
"Hey, are you alright—?"
His words halted midway as she grabbed his hand. "We don’t have much time." She said. "He will be back soon."
Sephrina quickly brought him onto the altar and made him stand where Lewin was.
"Hey priest." Sephrina said, looking at the terrified man. "Start the wedding."
Akamir blinked in confusion. "Pardon?"
"I would love to marry you a thousand times than marry Lewin once." Sephrina replied without looking at him.
"But don’t you elves marry—."
"Priest!" Sephrina snapped at the poor man. "Start the wedding now!!"
The man nodded, trembling in fear of what she might do.
He quickly asked Akamir all the details that were needed.
’Well, it’s a fake World so might as well go with the flow.’
Thinking so, Akamir told him everything he asked.
"In the presence of all." The priest said. "I commence the marriage between Sir Akamir and Lady Sephrina."
The priest stood awkwardly between them, flipping through the ceremonial book with trembling hands.
He took a deep breath and began, "We are gathered here today to join Sir Akamir and Lady Sephrina in holy matrimony."
Akamir stood still, glancing at Sephrina, who was stone-faced and focused entirely on the ceremony.
Her hand, however, gripped his tightly.
The priest continued, "Do you, Sir Akamir, take Lady Sephrina to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward?"
Akamir met her eyes, then looked at the priest. "I do."
"And do you, Lady Sephrina, take Sir Akamir to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward?"
"I do," Sephrina answered without hesitation.
The priest visibly relaxed, flipping the page. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife."
He looked out over the quiet room, then raised his voice slightly. "If there is anyone who objects to this union, speak now or forever hold your peace."
The room was dead silent.
Several nobles in the back shifted uncomfortably, but not one dared to speak.
Sephrina’s cold glare scanned each of them, daring them to open their mouths.
No one did.
The priest smiled nervously.
"Very well." He glanced between the two. "You may now kiss the bride."
Akamir blinked, slightly unsure if she’d go along with it.
But Sephrina didn’t hesitate.
She leaned in and kissed him.
Akamir was surprised by how soft it was. Not too long... not too dramatic. Just enough.
As they pulled apart, Akamir couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, "...Wait, isn’t your real body genderless right now?"
Sephrina glanced at him sideways. "It will remain that way unless I fall in love."
Akamir froze in his place as he couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable.
’Wait, does that make me gay?’
"We don’t have much time!" Sephrina said as she took out the key from her hairpin. "I will open the door."
Akamir nodded his head as he turned towards the door.
"Then I will take care of him." He said. "Just as planned."
Sephrina quickly rushed towards the door and something flew down from the sky.
BOOM!!!!
Almost immediately a man landed on the ground as he glared at Akamir.
Akamir couldn’t help but smile. "Hey, Lewin!" He said. "You really should have accepted my bargain."
Lewin glared at him but his gaze quickly shifted towards Sephrina who was close to the door.
His face immediately fell as he trembled violently.
Akamir couldn’t help but smile even more. "Are you here to congratulate me on MY wedding?"
"AKAMIR!!"
