CHAPTER 48: CHAPTER 46: SU CHEN IS A MONSTER?

Generally speaking, once the blood inheritance is successful, one becomes a One-star Beast Spirit and henceforth gains the qualification to cultivate a Cultivation Technique and learn various skills of different attributes. Subsequently, from Two-star to Five-star Beast Spirit, until one breaks through to become a One-star Beast Warrior, each level is divided into five stages, totaling nine levels as follows: Beast Spirit, Beast Warrior, Beast Master, Beast Lord, Beast King, Beast Emperor, Beast Soul, Beast Demon, and Beast Fiend.

But how long is the path of cultivation? In a typical family, a child reaches their teenage years before qualifying for blood inheritance, and most children from ordinary families don’t even meet the conditions to train their bodies for such qualification. Moreover, even those from noble families, despite having the qualification for blood inheritance, still face a considerable failure rate during the process. Therefore, joining the ranks of Beast Cultivators is exceedingly difficult. Countless people, after spending unknown amounts of time, still remain stuck before reaching the Beast Soul level, unable to advance even half a step more. Consequently, any expert at the Beast Soul level holds an extremely exalted status on the Profound Cyan Continent. Those experts who reach the Beast Demon level are revered as gods by even the highest strata of the empire!

However, Su Chen was born with the Kirin bloodline, which is equivalent to skipping the procedure of blood inheritance altogether, saving much time and effort compared to his peers! As he grows up, he can directly choose a Cultivation Method to practice, avoiding many hassles. This is the advantage of an innate talent!

At this moment, an elderly man in a white robe with silver hair leisurely came out from the crowd of guests. This elder was the only Spirit Master in Iron Stone City, Di Geng. He nodded slightly toward Su Hutian and then approached to take Little Su Chen, using his aged right hand to gently uncover the cloth covering Su Chen’s forehead.

Carefully observing Su Chen’s adorable little face, a hint of surprise flickered in Di Geng’s blue eyes. This child was actually smiling at him?

Indeed, apart from a single cry just after he was born, Su Chen never shed tears again. His big black, grape-like eyes seemed to be able to speak, carrying a sense of cunning; and the contented smile at the corner of his mouth inexplicably brought a sense of peace to one’s heart.

Di Geng was stunned for a moment before he came back to his senses. He slowly unveiled the swaddle, revealing the deep black Kirin totem.

"Indeed, it is the Kirin bloodline."

He couldn’t help but speak up after lightly tapping the totem pattern with his right index finger. The seamless and genuine lines of the design, along with the vivid Kirin form and the faint signs of bloodline energy flowing, all indicated the authenticity of the Kirin bloodline on Su Chen’s back.

"Master Di Geng, may I ask about the origin of Chen’Er’s Kirin bloodline?"

Su Hutian was well aware of the authenticity of his child’s bloodline, but he was concerned about its origin.

Di Geng lightly furrowed his brows and contemplated briefly before announcing under the breathless gaze of everyone, "I am not clear about the origin of the bloodline on this child."

"Ah?"

A sigh of regret echoed across the crowd!

"However, it has very distinctive differences from any Spirit Beast bloodlines I have encountered before!"

Ignoring the expressions of the crowd, Di Geng continued to speak.

"Master, what exactly are the differences?"

Su Hutian was extremely anxious.

Even the man in the black robe, hiding in the corner drinking, cast a curious glance at the scene. His brown eyes seemed as deep and vast as the ocean.

"Firstly, there is the difference in the totem’s color. The Kirin bloodline is already among the rarest Spirit Beasts. To my knowledge, the Kirin family has five colors, each representing highly potent skill attributes: the azure Wind Kirin, white Thunder Kirin, blue Water Kirin, red Fire Kirin, and yellow Earth Kirin. But Lord Su’s son’s Kirin totem is black, which is unusual. Secondly, there is the difference in the patterns; typically, Spirit Beast totems have fine and detailed lines but do not bestow such a heavy shadowed backdrop to their beasts."

He pointed to the Kirin on Su Chen’s back.

Indeed, everyone looked and saw a thick black shadow behind the black Kirin on Su Chen’s back. The shadow was long and heavy, but it exuded a very eerie sensation.

The man in the black robe focused his gaze and noticed something peculiar about the Kirin’s shadow. Yet, he couldn’t quite put his finger on what exactly was strange.

Di Geng observed the crowd’s reaction and couldn’t help but gently stroke Su Chen’s shadow with his palm, his expression filled with admiration and pride. After all, everyone needed his explanation to understand the spirit beast bloodline, earning him great reverence.

Su Hutian looked gratefully at Di Geng, "Thank you, Master Di Geng, for enlightening us. Su is truly grateful!"

Just as Di Geng was about to casually say no thanks were needed, looking at the admiring eyes around him, the Kirin shadow behind Su Chen suddenly emitted an incredibly strong light!

"Be careful!"

A stern shout came from the man in the black robe amongst the crowd, but it was already too late!

An alarming wave of light instantly enveloped Di Geng. The space seemed to tear apart violently, and before Di Geng could even let out a scream, he was utterly reduced to ashes!

The light wave vanished without a trace, and the black-robed man eerily appeared in front of the shocked-faced Su Hutian, staring at the pile of ash with a dazed expression.

Everyone was scared stiff, and the whole scene fell silent.

Then someone screamed in shock, and immediately the guests dispersed in all directions in a panic!

"A monster, the Su family’s little monster has killed someone!"

Watching the guests scatter chaotically, Su Hutian seemed utterly frozen, showing no reaction at all. He held the still contentedly smiling Little Su Chen in his arms, his expression wooden, while the steward Lan Si called out constantly beside him, yet failed to draw his attention.

All hope lost. At this moment, in Su Hutian’s heart, it felt as if a worm had gnawed out a hollow, from which pus and blood continuously seeped, causing unbearable pain.

"Is my Chen’Er a little monster?"

He muttered to himself, his large body trembling slightly.
