CHAPTER 133: CHAPTER 133: UNCLE, I’M SORRY!

Ye Anxin walked into the forest and immediately saw the little glimmers on the ground not far away.

There was no doubt that the light was coming from Mu Beiting’s phone.

Ye Anxin hurried over, combining three steps into two, picked up the phone on the ground, and looked around, but still couldn’t see Mu Beiting’s figure.

"Uncle, Uncle, where are you? It’s Anxin! Uncle...!" Ye Anxin put Mu Beiting’s phone into her pocket, anxiously searching for his figure in the forest.

The forest was eerily quiet, with only the rustling of leaves in the wind.

Ye Anxin turned on the phone’s flashlight and used its light to venture deeper into the forest.

The further she walked, the farther she got from the highway.

It was pitch black all around, eerily silent, not even a ghost in sight!

She didn’t know how long she had been walking, but just as despair began creeping into her heart, she finally saw Mu Beiting.

In the dark of night, Mu Beiting’s tall figure was leaning against a large tree, with his left hand in his pants pocket and his right hand holding a cigarette, smoking it sporadically.

Due to the darkness, Ye Anxin could only discern it was Mu Beiting from his silhouette, unable to see his expression.

"Uncle...!" Ye Anxin called out joyously.

Mu Beiting ignored her and continued smoking.

"Uncle...!" Ye Anxin knew that Mu Beiting was still angry with her, so she wasn’t angry. Instead, she slowly approached him, step by step, speaking as she walked, "Uncle, I know you are angry with me, I know I spoke wrongly just now! I’m sorry, I really didn’t mean to! I swear, I will never act presumptuously again, never say things that hurt you again! Will you come back with me? Do you know how worried I am with you out here alone?"

Mu Beiting still didn’t respond, silently smoking.

"Uncle...you...!" Ye Anxin was about to say more, but before she could, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her ankle and fell to the ground, losing her balance.

Hearing her cry, Mu Beiting, leaning against the tree, clearly flinched but didn’t make any move.

Ye Anxin sat on the ground, about to check her ankle, when she saw the grass by her feet move. Looking closely, she saw a green snake half-coiled on the ground, its head facing her, staring at her intently with triangular eyes, its tongue flicking in and out.

"Ah...snake...there’s a snake...!" Terrified, Ye Anxin jumped up, ignoring her injured foot.

As she moved, the snake followed!

Frightened, Ye Anxin retreated, and the snake advanced step by step.

Hearing her cries, Mu Beiting stood upright abruptly, instantly discarding his cigarette, grabbing a brick at his feet, and in a few strides, was in front of Ye Anxin. Without hesitation, he raised the brick in his hand and smashed it at the snake.

The snake moved swiftly, dodging Mu Beiting’s brick.

Mu Beiting anticipated its evasion, and as the snake dodged the brick and prepared to escape to the side of the forest, Mu Beiting directly lifted his foot and forcefully stomped on its vital point.

"Squeak, squeak...!" The snake struggled desperately, trying to escape from beneath Mu Beiting’s shoe!

But Mu Beiting wouldn’t give it a chance to live. He squatted down, picked up a larger piece of glass nearby, and unceremoniously cut the snake into two.

Mu Beiting’s movements were quick and ruthless, giving the snake no chance to fight back, leaving it writhing pathetically in the dirt.

"Uncle...!" Ye Anxin looked at Mu Beiting with teary eyes, feeling both aggrieved and scared.

Mu Beiting crouched beside her, pulled a handkerchief from his pocket, and before the poison could spread through her body, tightly tied it above the wound. Then he lifted her snake-bitten right leg, and seeing the two fang marks on her ankle, without hesitation, used his mouth to suck out the snake venom.

"No, Uncle, let go of me, Uncle...!" Ye Anxin was startled by Mu Beiting’s actions, trying to pull her leg back, but at that moment, she felt weak all over, her head dizzy, and Mu Beiting’s grip was so strong that with just a few attempts at movement, she felt as if she would faint.

Mu Beiting ignored her, sucked at the bite mark firmly, spat out a large mouthful of black blood, and then sucked again! This was repeated several times until the blood turned red, at which point he released her leg.

Ye Anxin bit her lower lip, lowered her head, and said guiltily, "Uncle, I’m sorry, I’m always causing trouble for you!"

Mu Beiting didn’t respond, he simply picked her up in a princess carry, and while holding Ye Anxin, he deliberately kept her bitten ankle below the heart, then swiftly walked out of the forest with large strides.

"Uncle...!" Seeing Mu Beiting remain silent, Ye Anxin quietly called out.

Hearing the grievance in her voice, Mu Beiting finally broke his silence, responding very softly, "Mm."

It was just one word, but it made Ye Anxin’s eyes suddenly fill with tears. She wrapped her arms around Mu Beiting’s neck, resting her small face against his chest, her voice full of grievances and guilt, "Uncle, I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Please don’t be mad at me, okay? I was wrong earlier, I shouldn’t have been presumptuous, shouldn’t have said those nonsensical things to you! Please don’t blame me, okay?"

While looking for Uncle earlier, she had repeatedly pondered over what she had said wrong and why Uncle was so angry!

Later, she finally understood!

She shouldn’t have talked about parental gratitude to someone who never felt the love of parents or the warmth of family!

Although Uncle is now the head of the Mu Group, what kind of life he lived in the Mu Family over the years could be inferred from what Mother Mu said that day.

Growing up without a mother and living as an illegitimate child in the Mu Family without a father’s support, every step Uncle took was like walking on thin ice.

And she dared to talk about absurd parental gratitude to someone like him!

Wasn’t this deliberately provoking Uncle, tearing open wounds he had barely managed to heal, exposing them and throwing salt on them?

No wonder Uncle was so upset earlier, sitting alone in the forest smoking.

Thinking about his lonely figure leaning against the tree earlier, she felt a pain in her heart that took her breath away.

Mu Beiting remained silent for a moment before speaking softly, "I didn’t blame you."

"Uncle...!" Hearing those four words, Ye Anxin felt as if an eternity had passed, and tears gushed forth from her eyes.

"I never blamed you!" Mu Beiting reiterated solemnly, and as he spoke, his arms unconsciously tightened around Ye Anxin.
