Chapter 383 Naming (Five Updates)
CHAPTER 383: CHAPTER 383 NAMING (FIVE UPDATES)
Chen Minghua might have yielded because of the previous incidents, but this time she refused to budge.
So that was settled.
Yang PeiMin and Shen Yiguang exchanged looks and saw helplessness in each other’s eyes.
Chen Minghua amusingly watched them, "Alright, alright, it’s like I’m the evil stepmother trying to separate you two. If you have anything to say, say it, I’m going to take my lovely grandson for a bath."
After saying that, she picked up the child and hummed a song as she left.
"My mom’s temperament is spoiled by my dad; she’s very firm. I’m just worried about her health."
Shen Yiguang found it funny too, "Why not let Yixiang move in too? An extra person might lighten the load."
Yang PeiMin shook her head, "No way, she has to work during the day, and it’s not like I can’t handle things. I just need to be more alert."
Shen Yiguang was a bit worried, "Can your body handle it?"
"What can’t I handle? Didn’t my mom say I could sleep during the day too? It’s a necessity. It’ll be easier when he grows up a bit."
The two of them talked for a long while about the child’s eating and toileting routines these past few days.
They both found it rather interesting.
At dinner, Yang PeiMin asked to move the table into her room; eating alone was too boring.
However, when it came to mealtime, she regretted it because the table had braised pork, sauerkraut stewed with pork intestines, spicy chicken, and fried meatballs, all of which she could only look at but not eat.
She looked resentfully at Yang Peiying, "Yingzi, why didn’t you make something I could eat?"
Yang Peiying’s face turned red, embarrassedly saying, "I... I didn’t know you’d come to eat."
Yang PeiMin: "..."
Chen Minghua and Shen Yiguang felt sorry for her. Chen Minghua then told Yang Peiying, "Next time make some light dishes for your sister too, so she can have a change of taste and eat more."
Yang PeiMin nodded vigorously, her mother did care for her.
But Yang Peihua commented, "Yingzi, how did you become such a good cook?"
"It was sister who taught me."
Yang Peihua’s eyes widened, almost choking, "Am I hearing things? You’re talking about Minmin?" His voice trailed off under Yang PeiMin’s glare.
Yang PeiMin responded, "My physical capabilities might be weak, but that doesn’t mean I can’t use my brain. Brother, please don’t talk to me while you’re eating."
Yang Peihua: "..."
Shen Yiguang picked some braised pork, separating the fatty parts and placing the lean parts in Yang PeiMin’s bowl, "It’s okay for Mom not to eat the fatty parts, right?"
Everyone was wide-eyed.
Yang Peihua just looked dazed.
Chen Minghua squinted her eyes, "No worries, no worries. Eat the fatty parts. I just worry the baby can’t handle it and might get diarrhea."
Yang PeiMin happily ate the lean meat.
Shen Yixiang, seeing everyone fussing over the baby, couldn’t help but ask, "What’s my nephew’s name? Have you named him yet?". She had been holding onto this question for days and finally asked when everyone was together.
Shen Yiguang glanced at Yang PeiMin, "Your sister-in-law wasn’t happy with the names I picked."
Shen Yixiang looked at Yang PeiMin, "Sister-in-law, what were you thinking?"
Yang PeiMin secretly glared at Shen Yiguang. That guy had some nerve; a few days ago he had suggested naming the baby ’Huíguī’ since he was born just as Shen returned home.
Yang PeiMin was so annoyed she hit him. She considered herself Angelica in that moment.
Seeing everyone waiting for her to continue, she realized she actually didn’t have any specific thoughts.
Zhang Minghua chuckled, "My grandson is smarter and more sensible than other people’s children. Compared to him, my own two grandsons are far behind, crying all day long and giving me a headache. This eldest grandson is different, he loves to laugh when teased. I think we should call him Lele? I hope he will always be happy."
Shen Yiguang was the first to express his opinion, "Lele is great, it sounds nice and rolls off the tongue easily, Madam really knows how to name."
Zhang Minghua couldn’t stop smiling.
Yang PeiMin also smiled, "Alright, let’s call him Lele."
Everyone laughed and nodded in agreement.
Shen Yixiang couldn’t resist picking up the child and started calling out ’Lele Lele’.
Everyone burst into laughter again.
"His formal name will be Shen Youqi," Yang PeiMin decided decisively.
Everyone looked at her in unison.
Yang PeiMin glanced at Shen Yiguang and smiled, "Child’s father, I hope that every time he goes on a mission, he comes back safe and sound, just like this time, arriving as scheduled once again."
Shen Yiguang also looked at her, his eyes tender and the corners of his eyes slightly wet, as he reached out and took her hand.
Shen Yixiang led everyone in a round of applause.
However, Yang Peihua suddenly started coughing.
This fun-spoiling guy, Zhang Minghua gave him a stern look.
Yang Peihua looked innocent and hurriedly explained, "No, Mom, there’s sand in the food."
Everyone: "..."
After dinner, supported by Shen Yiguang, Yang PeiMin went to take a bath, and after playing with the child for a while, Yang PeiMin hurried him off to the guest room to sleep.
Shen Yiguang, feeling helpless, said, "Wife, I’ve noticed that once I’m back, my own wife doesn’t even seem like mine anymore." His words had a pitiful tone.
Yang PeiMin chuckled, "Hurry up, my mother is waiting outside and she’s falling asleep too."
Shen Yiguang ruffled her hair playfully, "You ungrateful little thing."
Yang PeiMin pulled him close, hooked his neck, and kissed him on the lips.
As she pulled away, Shen Yiguang was unwilling to let go, his large palm cradling the back of her head to deepen the kiss.
Shen Yiguang’s advance was swift and eager, and Yang PeiMin was almost kissed senseless, her heart pounding from the long absence.
Only when a knock on the door sounded did Shen Yiguang reluctantly let go of her.
Yang PeiMin gasped for air like a fish revived.
When Shen Yiguang went to open the door, Yang PeiMin quickly lay down and pretended to be asleep.
Outside was Zhang Minghua. After catching a glimpse of them, she cleared her throat meaningfully, "Minmin needs three months to recover fully. Don’t be impatient just for a moment. Alright, it’s getting late. Ah Guang, go to sleep now. I’ll watch over her here. With me here, Minmin will recover faster." She seemed rather proud of herself for keeping them in separate rooms tonight.
Shen Yiguang touched his nose and nodded, "Alright, Mom, you should go to sleep early too."
Zhang Minghua closed the door and looked at her pretended-to-be-asleep daughter, sighing, "Minmin, you promised your Mom, you can’t let Ah Guang get carried away."
Yang PeiMin stuck her head out from under the blanket and replied, "Mom, don’t worry, I remember. We were just talking a bit more and forgot about the time."
Zhang Minghua’s heart finally eased, "Just remember, men are always like this, always thinking about it. We need to keep our own boundaries, don’t disregard your own health because of him."
Yang PeiMin reassured her again.
Thinking to herself, even if Shen Yiguang were more impulsive or beastly, she wasn’t in any state to encourage it now, as she ruefully thought about the unwashed scent still in her hair.
Yang PeiMin shared one side of the bed with the child, and Zhang Minghua slept on the other.
The child needed no coaxing and fell asleep on his own.
