CHAPTER 404: CHAPTER 102: DOCTOR, I’M SICK (PART 2)

"If I really need to see a doctor, then take me to the infirmary," Xiao Xian seemed to come to life, struggling to get out of bed.

"Aren’t you just going to see Dr. Zhou?" Zhang Yiyi’s worry changed to a bounce of excitement, her face brimming with innuendo.

The new school doctor, also the handsome young man who had drawn Xiao Xian’s blood, had made the school infirmary as busy as a marketplace ever since his arrival.

From headaches and bellyaches to limping and scraped skin, everyone crammed in there. It had never been so bustling even when the old school doctor was away. The scene had the head of academic affairs shaking his head and sighing, "Students these days really are maturing early."

"I’m going to see him; who else would I see?" Xiao Xian thought it over and decided that aside from Dr. Zhou, who might be a Cultivator and capable of helping her out of her current predicament, there was no one else. Although she did wonder why Dr. Zhou, who could pass for a celebrity, would bother coming to Holy Heart to be a mere school doctor.

But since even Aisha, with her golden hair and blue eyes looking like a celestial beauty on the outside but a viper at heart, could become a high school PE teacher, nothing in this world seemed impossible anymore.

Despite their mocking words, adhering to the principle that the patient comes first, Zhang Yiyi and Zeng Xuerou still supported Xiao Xian on either side and led her to the school infirmary.

Today was Saturday and not many people were at school, yet the girls loitering outside the infirmary were still the familiar few.

The infirmary’s door was closed, and the gathered girls had to sheepishly turn around and walk away upon seeing this.

Zhang Yiyi, seeing the tightly shut door, wanted to convince Xiao Xian to go back, but Xiao Xian spoke first, "He’s inside," the familiar aura was something no door could block.

Zeng Xuerou approached the door and was just about to knock when it swung open. Zhou Ziang, wearing a white lab coat and gloves, had quite the look of a school doctor about him.

Seeing the three of them, he overlooked Xuerou standing before him and a suspicious arc formed at the corner of his mouth. But upon seeing Xiao Xian’s pale complexion and her thin, palm-sized face, the arc drooped.

"Feeling unwell? Come in," Zhou Ziang stepped aside, leaving a gap just wide enough for one person to enter.

"Okay," as Xuerou and Zhang Yiyi wanted to help Xiao Xian through the door, he stretched out a hand, blocking the entrance, "To avoid disturbance, the patient can come in alone. You can go back first, her condition is a bit serious and won’t improve quickly."

While speaking, Zhou Ziang’s brows furrowed tightly, his tone brooking no refusal, and Zhang Yiyi lost her stance and let go of Xiao Xian.

Xuerou’s brows knitted tightly, and after a glance at Xiao Xian and receiving her silent nod, she took Zhang Yiyi away.

The infirmary door shut. The room’s setup was simple, lacking the uncomfortable smell of disinfectant.

Rows of medicine shelves lined the walls, there was a white curtain for examining patients, a bed for resting, and two chairs.

There was a desk for writing prescriptions, with a glass for drinking water on it, and beside the glass lay an expired newspaper, its headline blatantly about the traffic accident on Miaofeng Mountain.

Xiao Xian walked in front while Zhou Ziang followed leisurely behind. Seeing the newspaper, Xiao Xian’s heartbeat quickened a bit.

She looked around the room and finally settled in front of the two chairs, sitting down. Then there was a heart-racing silence.

How to start? Just ask him directly if he’s a Cultivator and explain the situation? No, that won’t do. If he’s not a Cultivator, he might think she’s crazy.

After a while, Xiao Xian decided to act the part of a patient for now: "Dr. Zhou, I’m not feeling well."

Zhou Ziang raised an eyebrow. Eight out of ten who entered this room were girls, and the first sentence out of all eight was, "Doctor, I’m not feeling well."

Normally, Zhou Ziang would ask where it hurts, the reason, and then prescribe some medicine. Zhou Ziang wasn’t a proper doctor, but he had studied Western medicine and even spent time at Cornell’s pharmaceutical research institute. Curing headaches and intermittent infatuations was well within his means.

However, he had no intention of following the usual routine today.

"Open your mouth, stick out your tongue," his low voice with a hint of magnetism was reassuring to hear.

Out of options, Xiao Xian complied. Just as she opened her mouth, Zhou Ziang stood in front of her, raising her chin with his right hand, asking her to open her mouth.

The glove felt dry against her face, carrying the scent of disinfectant. Xiao Xian frowned, her tongue restless in her mouth. After several attempts, she finally opened her mouth as instructed.

"Weak limbs?" Zhou Ziang’s face was close, his breath lightly brushing Xiao Xian’s cheek, "And a bit of fever." Zhou Ziang finally let go of her chin, and the next moment, his hand was on Xiao Xian’s forehead.

"No, I don’t have a fever," Xiao Xian tried to avoid the hand, even though her body was heating up, and her cheeks were itching.

"Not a fever? Then we’ll need to analyze the cause deeply, lie on the bed, I’ll examine you more closely," Zhou Ziang stood upright, took off his gloves, and looked down imposingly at the restless Xiao Xian.

"Lie... Lie on the bed! You’re a pervert," Xiao Xian jumped up, tempted to turn and leave immediately. But the door to the infirmary was shut, and as she warily watched Zhou Ziang, she edged towards the door.

"An examination is like that. If it’s not a fever or cold, it could be that some organ is sic

k. I need to check thoroughly," Zhou Ziang said blandly, stepping closer to Xiao Xian.

"Don’t come any closer. You’re not a doctor, what’s this talk of examinations, it’s all a trick," Xiao Xian became flustered, her body weakened even more, and she stumbled on a chair. Just as she was about to fall, an arm caught her around the waist.

"Since you know I’m not a doctor, why did you come here?" Xiao Xian could feel the arm at her waist trembling harshly with barely suppressed laughter.

"I came to ask for your help," Xiao Xian tried to break free, but the arm held firm, and she couldn’t escape, "I wanted to ask, do you know about Cultivators?" (To be continued.
