CHAPTER 421: CHAPTER 111: THE TRIANGULAR STANDOFF
"Since none of you here invited them, go tell those two outside that I’m hosting a banquet tonight and don’t have time to entertain guests," Huang Tengchong impatiently ordered the security guard to drive them away.
The hairy crab incident was still weighing on his mind; with so many young crabs possibly switched, he could lose millions. If it weren’t for the fact that he simply could not neglect his guests at this moment, Huang Tengchong would be keen to head to Miyun Reservoir himself and give the crab farmers a severe lesson.
Given the instruction, the security guard hurriedly went down.
It wasn’t long before there was a commotion outside the hall, followed by cries and pleas for mercy.
"What’s going on? Can’t you even drive someone away without making a mess? You’re all bloody useless," Huang Tengchong cursed and berated them. Aisha and Xu Song, who were sitting with him, followed him out to see which unwelcome guest was causing such a ruckus.
Zhou Ziang deliberately lagged behind, considering going upstairs to investigate, but then he felt a familiar presence stirring within him. Why is she here? He stopped his ascent and also followed out of the living room.
In the garden, the neatly trimmed row of hibiscus flowers was knocked askew, and the tail lights of the Mercedes RV parked outside the villa were smashed to bits.
When Huang Tengchong and several guests came out, an Audi with its headlights fully on charged into the garden.
By now, it was nightfall, and under the glow of the streetlights, the Audi’s front windshield was a blanket of white, obscuring the view of who was sitting in the driver’s seat from Huang Tengchong and the others.
"Who’s got the guts of a bear and a leopard, daring to run wild on my turf?" Huang Tengchong roared furiously as his several security personnel surrounded the car.
The driver’s door was pushed open, and someone stepped out from the driver’s seat.
Then the back door also opened, and another person got out.
"Call that driving?" Xiao Xian was truly at her wit’s end with Mei Nian; the woman was over a hundred years old, yet her driving skills were absolutely dreadful, nothing compared to Xuerou’s - it was like the difference between heaven and earth.
"You are the one who told me to charge in, right? Here we are now, no need to wait for any messy announcements, we’ve directly met the host," Mei Nian bluffed Xiao Xian at Yanqing Farm, and Xiao Xian was only half convinced. But after she contacted the Lin sisters from Sacred Heart Middle School and confirmed that Zhang Yiyi had inexplicably collapsed in the infirmary, and that Zeng Xuerou was nowhere to be found, she believed Mei Nian’s words.
Mei Nian didn’t expect the Xu Family to act so quickly, rushing to the hotel where Xu Song was staying and catching a security guard from the Xu Family then bulldozing her way straight to Huang Tengchong’s villa.
The pair seemed utterly oblivious to the multiple pairs of eyes fixated on them, each set of eyes mixed with different emotions.
Zhou Ziang felt a sense of relief, looking at the unharmed Xiao Xian who was still spiritedly bantering.
Aisha recognized Xiao Xian too. It was the female student whom Zhou Ziang had "specially dealt with" at the school. Why had she come here?
Huang Tengchong was most perplexed, having no idea who the two women crashing through the door were. Furthermore, they showed no fear after hitting the car and openly disregarded him, the host, as they argued.
Xu Song recognized one of the bickering parties: not Xiao Xian, but the vigorous Mei Nian.
"Brat, don’t forget how you pleaded with me before we set off, claiming that as long as I save your buddy, you’ll obediently hand over the stuff. Now that I’ve brought you to them, don’t forget your previous promise," Mei Nian was no saintly figure herself. Especially the Xu Family, particularly that old man Xu Changfu, she had no desire to offend.
"Aunt Mei, so it’s your venerable self," Xu Song stepped forward and respectfully performed a salute.
Hearing the address "Aunt Mei," Xiao Xian glanced at Mei Nian, the corners of her mouth twitched as she swallowed her smirk.
Huang Tengchong overheard it and almost bit off his own tongue. This seemingly crazy woman had a lineage so high even Xu Song addressed her as ’Aunt.’ How old was Xu Song, about forty or so?
"I thought who it could be, turns out it’s Xu Datou," Mei Nian knew someone from the Xu Family had come but did not expect Xu Song to be the one. Ranking by seniority, Mei Nian was several generations senior even to Xu Song’s father, Xu Changfu. Xu Song had a big head, resembling a split open cabbage, so the elders jokingly called him Xu Datou.
Since Xu Song became an adult, nobody dared call him that openly. Tonight, being addressed as such in front of everyone, he had mentally scolded every one of the Mei ancestors, yet on the surface, he was still politely responsive: "Indeed, it is your junior."
