CHAPTER 47: IGNIS, THE DRACONIC SWORD EXECUTIONER!

Valemar’s brows furrowed the moment he heard Cassian’s explanation. He already knew where the entire commotion began as the Steelheart’s ruckus in Lycranor City had started from James’s very first visit and the killing of the Old Duke.

Cassian added after noticing that Valemar had been silent for a moment, knowing what the other party was thinking.

"You don’t have to worry. James wants to go there because he’s searching for something. Elara only wants to play with him. In truth, the two of them are just enjoying a bit of free time before the recruitment begins."

Valemar exhaled slowly. "Alright. I’ll trust your word. But don’t forget this—just because they’re your children doesn’t mean I’ll treat them differently. If they cause trouble, I won’t give them special treatment."

"Relax, they won’t act unless someone forces their hand." Cassian replied lightly, then continued with a serious tone. "Still... Grand Duke Valemar, I’m entrusting them to you. If anything happens to them, I genuinely don’t know what I might do."

"Cassian. Are you warning me?" Valemar said with a hint of anger.

"That’s not what I meant, I’m simply stating the truth. Lycranor is your territory. Everything that happens there is under your control." Cassian replied dryly.

"You’re thinking too much, Cassian. I’m not interested in any of these, and you can trust my words on that." Valemar responded and instantly added as he smiled faintly, imagining that Cassian was standing in front of him. "Besides, do you really have the confidence to say such things to me?"

"Why don’t you try it yourself?" Cassian chuckled lightly.

Valemar burst into laughter. "Very well! When we both have free time, let’s spar. My hands have been itching for something exciting."

"Sounds good to me."

...

Cassian glanced at James and reminded him. "Be careful out there. If anything feels off, tell me immediately."

James smiled faintly. "I know, don’t worry."

"That’s good." Cassian reached out and patted his son’s head, smiling warmly. "You can go now."

"I’ll pick up Elara myself, as it’s in the same direction from here." James said before walking toward the door.

As James opened the door, Cassian added. "Even though I’ve warned him, it’s best not to trust anyone completely. Always stay vigilant."

"Understood." James nodded and left the office.

Subsequently, James and Nyxrael headed back but brought another house because James wanted to use this opportunity to use the Special Rank Summoning Card on his way back home.

An hour later, when they reached halfway, James found a quiet place in the middle of a forest.

"System, use the Special Rank Summoning Card!" James ordered.

Ten purple cards with intricate patterns appeared suddenly, floating in front of him.

Without further ado, James instantly scanned the options of knights and magicians that were available this time.

Looking at the options that appeared before him, James was dissatisfied because there was no improvement in terms of strength. Meaning that even if James could summon someone at the Transcendent Rank, they would die within a year.

Even if he were to summon someone at the Legendary Rank, their potentials had reached their limits, and it would take some effort to increase their potentials.

However, just as James was disappointed with these options, he heard a notification from the system that surprised him.

[Ding! Do you want to choose another way of using the Special Rank Summoning Card?]

"What do you mean by that?" James raised an eyebrow, clearly feeling interested that there was another option for him to use the Special Rank Summoning Card.

[Ding!]

[By combining all ten cards into one, you can gamble the outcome. You may summon someone as weak as a Silver Rank or as powerful as a Transcendent Rank. However, one thing is guaranteed: every summon through this method will possess something special.]

After listening to the system’s explanation, James didn’t hesitate and instantly chose to do it in this way.

He thought that there was no point for him to summon those at the Epic Rank and lower since there was already Nyxrael. So, he might as well gamble it and live with the motto of YOLO.

"System, I’ll choose to gamble on it." James chuckled.

The ten purple cards immediately shone brightly and moved, stacking themselves before combining into one card.

The intricate runes etched upon its surface shimmered brighter than he had seen when he summoned Nyxrael.

It then distanced itself, hovering a few meters away from James, and expanded rapidly until it stretched at a fast speed and reached 2 meters tall.

The card twisted upon itself and unraveled into a spatial gate. This time, the surface spilled a violent raging of crimson red flames.

The air in the surroundings grew heavy, and James felt that the oppressive power coming out of the spatial gate was definitely stronger compared to when he summoned Nyxrael.

A moment later, from within the spatial gate, a slender figure emerged—Ignis, the Draconic Sword Executioner

(Peak Legendary Rank).

The figure stepped out of the spatial gate, her presence scorching the air itself.

She wore a flowing crimson dress that rippled like living flames, the fabric marked with faint ember-like patterns that glowed with every breath she took. Golden chains wrapped around her waist and body, forming an imposing yet vicious silhouette befitting her dragon bloodline.

Her long, white hair was flowing wildly behind her, tied back with a dark ornament that gleamed beneath the firelight. Two sharp, slightly curved horns protruded from her head, making her unmistakably from the dragon race. Her red eyes glowed strong enough to rival the inferno raging behind her.

Gripped tightly in her right hand was a blazing sword with fiery energy crawling along its edge like serpents of flames.

As soon as she stepped out of the spatial gate, the gate instantly disappeared together with the oppressive force.

The moment Ignis saw James, she directly kneeled on one knee while putting her right hand in between her plump chest.

"My Lord."

James smiled satisfiedly, as he had never expected to pull a jackpot. Such a beauty yet possessed an extremely strong combat power, he definitely wouldn’t be unhappy even if his next few pulls on the daily sign-in rewards were trash.

"Ignis, welcome to the family, and don’t be too polite with me from now on." James waved his hand casually as he added. "You’re the same age as I am anyway."

"Thank you... I’ll keep that in mind, My Lord." Ignis stood up gracefully and smiled at James.

Cough!

James gestured between the two people. "Ignis, this is Nyxrael. Nyx, this is Ignis."

"Get along well since you two are going to see each other every day from now on." James said with a smile.

"Understood, My Lord." Nyxrael and Ignis responded in unison.

"Good, let’s continue our journey right away." James nodded and got on his horse.

While on the way back home, James asked Ignis curiously. "So, exactly how strong are you?"

"How strong?" Ignis raised an eyebrow, seemingly interested in the topic, and replied with a bitter smile. "Honestly I’m not completely sure myself. But within the younger generation of the dragon clan—if I go all out, I’m one of the strongest."
