Damn, I Don't Want to Build a Business Empire
Chapter 51: At Horny Princess Interactive.
CHAPTER 51: AT HORNY PRINCESS INTERACTIVE.
"Come on in," Suho said as he led the way into the workshop.
The interior was much different from the canteen. Several small partitioned rooms lined the sides, clearly once used as offices. Suho glanced around with interest.
"Mr. Kim, how should this place be decorated?" Woo Jin asked, notebook ready.
"I want the entire workshop transformed into staff dormitories," Suho said calmly.
Woo Jin scribbled quickly. "What about the dorm layout?"
Suho thought for a moment before replying. "Two people per room. No bunk beds. Each room must have an independent bathroom. Not too cramped. And every room needs its own air conditioner."
Woo Jin hesitated. "If we install central air with vents into each room, it will save a lot of money compared to individual units—"
"No." Suho’s tone was firm. "Temperature is personal. Some employees like cold; others can’t stand it. Central air can’t satisfy everyone. With individual units, they can adjust as they like."
Woo Jin flinched under Suho’s sharp look and nodded quickly. "Understood, Mr. Kim."
"Good. And one more thing," Suho added. "Materials must match the canteen. Big brands only. Beds, bathrooms, AC units—everything top quality."
"Yes, Mr. Kim." Woo Jin bent his head, then began measuring with his tools while Suho walked out, satisfied.
Back at the office, Cho Rin placed a steaming cup of coffee on Suho’s desk.
"Boss, what would you like for lunch today? I can arrange it."
"Anything’s fine." Suho rubbed his temples absently. He noticed Cho Rin was oddly attentive today. Not only coffee—earlier she had adjusted the AC before he even asked, brought him water when he glanced at the cup, and even arranged his chair just right. It was... almost unsettling.
"Cho Rin," he finally asked, "don’t you think you’re being... too thoughtful today?"
She smiled lightly. "Boss, I read some books on being an efficient assistant. These are all things a competent assistant should handle. Please don’t worry."
Suho blinked, then laughed to himself. So this was part of the job. Worth hiring her after all. In fact... maybe it was time to raise her salary again.
"You’ve done well. Starting next month, your salary will be 10,000," he said.
Cho Rin’s eyes widened. "Boss—I didn’t do this for a raise—"
"I know. But a boss must reward growth. It’s not just you—others will also see increases." His tone was final.
Cho Rin bowed slightly, eyes shining. "Thank you, Mr. Kim."
"Good. Now, one more task. Notify every department: tomorrow morning, the company will hold mandatory morning exercises."
She didn’t question him, only nodded. "Yes, Boss."
"Oh, and remember—I have to visit Horny Princess Interactive today. Fen Su said he prepared several project plans for me to review."
Suho sighed. Busy again. But he couldn’t avoid it. If he didn’t at least pretend to push new projects, the system might accuse him of intentional sabotage.
At Horny Princess Interactive, Fen Su nervously handed three thick folders across the desk.
"Mr. Kim, here are three project plans in total. Please take a look."
These were the projects he had once proposed under Meng Lei, but all had been rejected. To him, each one had strong prospects. With proper development, any of them could bring profit. His heart pounded as Suho flipped through the first few pages.
Suho, however, was thinking something entirely different. Profit? Absolutely not. He wanted controlled losses, enough to drain system funds without triggering bankruptcy. As he looked at Fen Su’s eager face, he thought, Perfect. This man is exactly the kind of talent I need—to spend money while thinking he’s saving the company.
Kim Suho leaned back in his chair, flipping through the three project proposals that Fen Su had just laid out on the table. His brows furrowed—most of the charts and diagrams looked like alien hieroglyphics to him. Finally, he sighed and set the stack down.
"Is this all your own work?" Suho asked, his voice steady but eyes sharp.
Fen Su’s palms felt damp. He straightened his back nervously and nodded. "Yes, Mr. Kim. I prepared all three myself."
Suho smirked faintly, relief flooding his chest. Perfect. This was the same planner who, through his earlier choices, had steered Horny Princess Interactive into a nosedive. A born talent—for losing money. Exactly the kind of man Suho needed. If Fen Su said these were his ideas, then the company’s downward spiral was secure.
"Good," Suho said with mock gravitas. "Then pick whichever you think is best. I trust you."
The words landed like thunder. Fen Su’s throat tightened. He had expected criticism, maybe even dismissal. Instead, this new boss was leaving the fate of the company in his hands? Gratitude surged through him. He quickly shuffled the pages, hesitating only briefly before pointing at one.
"This one," he said firmly. "An FPS shooter. Different from the current market. Innovative mechanics. I believe it could shake up the genre."
Suho waved his hand. "Fine, fine. Don’t explain the details. Just tell me the budget."
Fen Su blinked. "Uh... the minimum production cost is three hundred thousand dollars. That excludes testing, marketing, and launch expenses."
"Only three hundred?" Suho snorted, slapping the table. "Pathetic. I’ll give you five hundred. Make it shine, or at least make it look like it cost a fortune."
Fen Su’s jaw slackened. Extra budget? Just like that? He bowed deeply, almost knocking his head on the table. "Thank you, Mr. Kim! I’ll make sure this project becomes something special."
Inwardly, Suho cackled. Special, my ass. What mattered was burning through half a million in one swoop. Perfect.
When Suho left Horny Princess HQ, the numbers in his system screen made him grin:
[System Funds: 1,200,000 remaining]
A half-million gone in one meeting. Add the dormitory renovation budget of nearly eight hundred thousand, and he’d be left with barely four hundred grand. The second round of salaries was coming up, too. Those funds would vanish in no time. For once, spending money felt smooth, almost elegant.
Late that night, back in her dorm at Chicago University, Cho Rin pushed through the door with heavy steps. Her roommate Jo Hee was sprawled across the bed, face buried in a K-drama marathon on her laptop. As soon as she saw Rin, she sat up, curiosity sparkling in her eyes.
