Damned Healer
Chapter 314: Main Cheat
CHAPTER 314: MAIN CHEAT
"Big brother’s got a plan?" Awel muttered, looking a little thoughtful.
Darian nodded. That girl, even though inexperienced, was clearly the brains of the trio.
"Whatever big brother says, we’ll do it!" Eleri jumped in right away with a slight smile.
Darian gave a small nod. That one was freer, liked to act without thinking too much... he was already used to people with that kind of mindset.
"If it’s safe for everyone, we’ll give it our best." Tir added quickly.
That boy had a more protective, serious personality. Sometimes that could be a problem, since he’d always put the people important to him above himself. But without a doubt, he was the most reliable one when it came to his two sisters.
"Awel, come with me. You two, get all the power you’ve got left ready. I’ll use everything you have, and we can’t afford to waste a thing."
Darian spent another minute explaining before moving, with each of the three following his orders.
In the middle of the battle. Suddenly, Awel’s voice rang out toward the Golden Monkey still fighting:
"Sir, listen to me. When I give the signal, order everyone outside the walls to retreat inside."
He looked up and saw the small girl holding tightly onto Darian’s arm, using her wind powers to carry them both through the air.
The golden monkey stared at Darian seriously for a moment. This was obviously some scheme cooked up by him, but since he didn’t see any other clear way out, he decided to go along and watch. After all, the guy had already saved them once before.
With his nod, Darian had Awel fly even higher, straight toward the center of the shadow army.
Luckily, all the shadows capable of flight had been the first ones killed by the defenders. They’d poured everything into taking them out, and the reason was obvious: if those things had survived, the city would’ve been overrun in no time.
The strongest Fiendgods had prioritized the aerial enemies, which left only the weaker ones holding the ground. That decision had caused countless deaths and weakened their forces overall.
The pair pushed forward through the sky and, a minute later...
"NOW!"
Awel’s sharp voice cut through the chaos.
The Golden Monkey roared, giving the order to retreat. Only a small number were still outside, holding the frontline. As soon as they heard the command, everyone fell back immediately.
When they slipped back through the gap in the wall...
"Tir!"
*RUMBLE!*
The whole city shook as the ground itself quaked. Suddenly, a massive wall of earth surged upward, sealing off the entrance.
That had been possible from the start, but the Golden Monkey hadn’t ordered it — because it would’ve been useless. To raise that wall, Tir had to burn at least 80% of his energy. And with thousands of shadows hammering away at them, it would only last a few minutes before collapsing.
This wasn’t a fight where just defending or cutting down shadows was going to solve anything. The three had to find the Chromaraics, and if even one of them ran out of strength, the result could only be defeat. That’s why this tactic had seemed foolish.
The Golden Monkey kept a sharp eye over the walls, until...
Up in the sky, right in the middle of the enemies...
Darian pulsed, unleashing a surge of raw primordial Yin aura.
All of his power and focus were pushed to the limit.
He waved, opened his inventory, and a massive amount of black dust spilled out around him.
His ring lit up. Closing his eyes in deep concentration, suddenly the Darkness Law vibrated.
"Now." he said.
Awel, still gripping his arm, nodded.
Her eyes shifted into a bright wind-green, and her metamorphosed body took on that same color. On her forehead, a small rune appeared — technically her true body, though not a physical one.
And with that, all the power of a Heavenly Elemental Spirit was released.
*BUZZ!*
The skies buzzed, and even space itself began to twist.
She triggered her Law through the system, summoning more wind runes that joined her control. That chain reaction unleashed an even more terrifying power of the winds.
Darian nodded, smoothly controlling the Darkness Law. He moved the tiny runes one by one, scattering them in every direction.
**Woooosh!**
The winds mixed with that power, and a gigantic cyclone formed, crashing down on the shadows.
Everyone in the city watched, confused. If killing the shadows was really that easy, they would’ve done it already. Some people even had the Darkness Law, but they needed a huge amount just to take down a single target.
That wind was strong, but it shouldn’t have been able to do anything. And that ridiculous amount of Darkness Law looked even more useless...
But then...
"WHAT?!"
Everyone’s eyes went wide in shock.
In the shadow army, the moment the winds touched them, their huge bodies suddenly exploded or got sliced apart like they were made of paper.
In an instant, a bloody devastation unfolded before everyone’s eyes.
Darian controlled each tiny rune with perfection. Even in small amounts, there were millions of them. By spreading just a tiny piece to each shadow, he made the winds carry the runes into their bodies. Then he manipulated a dozen of them to act like thousands, squeezing out the maximum power possible.
This was Darian’s main cheat in this world. These Laws given by the system, in other people’s hands, were just a powerful weapon with big limitations. But in his hands, thanks to his control, they became way more effective—and terrifying.
The runes invaded the shadows’ bodies, paralyzing them and tearing down their defenses. Right after, the offensive power of the winds sliced their bodies apart with ease.
A truly devastating attack struck. A tornado of blood and flesh spun upward into the skies, throwing everything in every direction and creating a macabre rain.
The scene was terrifying... but everyone’s hearts pounded like drums, overwhelmed by shock and excitement. They had killed them all!
*Crack!*
At that moment, a hole opened in the earthen wall.
Tir and Eleri rushed out in a hurry.
The people in the city were confused, but soon saw Awel moving toward them. She was almost out of power, maybe only 10% left. Tir had less than 20%. The only one still in decent condition was Eleri.
Using the little wind power she had left, Awel wrapped the two of them. Quickly, the three youngsters, together with Darian, shot off at high speed and vanished.
Darian was in the middle, with Awel and Eleri holding his arms, while Tir leaned on his neck.
"Big brother... I can’t..."
"Take it easy, I know you can’t go faster and that you’re almost spent." Darian quickly cut off Awel’s words. "Just keep a third of that speed. That’ll be enough for us to stay far enough behind so they won’t notice we’re following. You can hold like that for a few hours, right?"
She nodded, not really understanding what he was planning, but willing to trust his words to the end.
"Eleri, Tir, get ready. No one’s gonna escape. We’re going to hit their hive directly, by surprise." Darian said calmly, making the three of them swallow hard.
