Danmachi- Hell’s Forge
Domain and arrival
It was getting a bit tedious having to repeat myself after explaining what was up with the barrier that I wasn't making more. Don't get me wrong I totally get the desire to ask for something like that but it really was too much of a bother to regularly try and replicate. Just the requirement for intact monster rex stones already extended the time needed just to gather the materials for such a barrier out. Not to mention there really weren't many familias capable of killing the monster rexes without targeting the stones.-
Then I would have to make the barrier spikes to line the area the barrier would cover which could take a month at least if the property was the same size as ours or even longer if it was bigger. Still as I had guessed my body had finally acclimated to it's new status a day later and I could finally leave the coffin. Calling me powerful however was a MASSIVE understatement as there was a slight downside I hadn't thought of with my double level up, control. See when I was only using the average human level of strength everything was fine but when I actually tried to exert force things got messy.-
My grip would crush the material I was holding or I'd stomp my foot so hard that it'd leave a small crater when I tried to sprint. My fine control over my body was shot from gaining well over an additional three thousand points in each stat at the value they would hold at level four. Considering each levels stats were worth 1.5 of the previous levels 1 and you could understand my problem. Unlike when you normally would accumulate stats and as a result adapt to them over time I suddenly gained a whole levels worth without that adaptation time.-
It was a bit annoying but I was fast on the uptake and got it more or less under control within a single afternoon. My cursed energy reservoir was frankly monstrous at this point as I had enough energy to fully influence the entirely of our manor all at once for close to two hours straight before my tank started to empty. Additionally my flames and ice were the sort of things that if fully unleashed would likely cover all of Orario in a inferno or frozen hell.-
Magic stats didn't just increase ones energy reserves after all but the potency of the magics one has as well. In my case that meant my cursed techniques were reaching the sort of extremity you'd expect from an S rank sorcerer or cursed spirit in JJK. I hadn't checked my domain expansion yet but I was fairly certain that it's range had also grown dramatically. That wasn't the sort of thing you just unleash willy nilly though as I very much doubted there wouldn't be serious consequences to it if the gods figured out what it was.-
Hestia knew what it was and had in no uncertain terms banned me from ever showing it to anyone if there was even a chance of it being exposed. The line in JJK where it was said that Sukuna Ryomen's act of using a borderless domain expansion was a divine act was not as it turned out as exaggerated as expected. According to Hestia based off of my description of how a domain worked it was a sort of proto-divine authority. The physical manifestation of a gods power on the world or at least similar enough to make her panic.-
As it turned out this was actually why gods got yeeted back to the heavens if they unsealed their powers. Their very existence is a literal manifestation of their divine domains so their mere unsealed presence warps their surroundings towards that state causing violent rejection from the mortal realm. Domain expansion achieved something similar but on a much weaker and temporary level, hence the barrier that separates it from the outside world. Using it without a barrier is even closer to the effect a god has on the world in their unsealed state.-
So yeah, no random domain expansions for me. I really didn't want to test if the world might toss my ass into the heavens as a mortal for trying it. The time came though where Ottar himself showed up at the manor to come get me for our spar. He was calm in appearance but anyone could tell he was hyped for this as he was almost impatient about getting me to follow him. He even briefly tested me with a handshake that used way too much strength and I was more than happy to play along. I may not have completely matched his strength in this test but clearly got close enough from the way his mouth corners twitched upwards.-
He walked at a brisk pace through Orario towards the nearest gate while eyes and rumors followed us. I was just grinning the whole way as honestly there was no way I wasn't just as hyped about this as he was. This was THE king of adventurers we were talking about here so naturally I was eager to fight him, even with all the restrictions I had to place on myself for it. Not being able to go all out kinda sucked but that was just a sacrifice I needed to accept due to the nature of my powers.-
We left through the gate of Orarion with a fairly large crowd behind us hoping to see something good. We weren't going to disappoint either.
"About ten miles out that way sound good?" i asked casually.
"It will work." he said with a nod.
"I'll race ya." I said with a grin and his eyes lit up as he nodded.
I took out a single coin and tossed it into the air as we both took our stances. The moment the coin hit the earth the ground beneath us exploded as we shot forward at full force. The world seemed to blur as we pushed our legs as hard as we could in hopes of overcoming the other in speed. It was close too as my stats set me almost on the same level as he was. seeing this I chose to cheat a little and leapt forward as I changed my body into a narrow feline form not unlike a cheetah which gave me even more speed. Using both my arms and legs now jointed like a cheetahs for maximum speed I tore across the plain nearly twice as fast as before even causing a sonic boom as I broke the sound barrier with my face.
