CHAPTER 107: CHAPTER 107- TRY THIS ONE

Tina was a smart woman—one look at Lilian’s reaction and she knew she had hit the mark.

Her gaze flicked to the neckline of Lilian’s dress. Tina’s heels gave her a good height advantage, and the dress’s round collar revealed just a small gap through which a faint red mark showed. In that instant, everything became clear.

Usually, girls who came to Show would try on any dress Tina recommended. But this little Miss Burg Eltz was resisting—strongly. Tina couldn’t help but think of those hidden troubles.

Laurent had said Lilian came to A.T. to get over a breakup, right? Then what was that mark on her neck...?

Her eyes naturally shifted toward Morrison, sitting not far away. He was on a phone call, likely work-related, deliberately keeping his voice low.

The man’s posture was impeccable, his side profile sharp and handsome. Despite his simple attire, there was an undeniable aura of elite maturity about him—graceful, restrained, and utterly refined.

No wonder Tina suspected Morrison.

Laurent had told her Lilian was heartbroken, yet here she was, with signs of intimacy on her body. And the only man Lilian had been around since yesterday was Morrison, right?

Still, Tina couldn’t be sure—only guessing. After all, the gap between Morrison and Lilian was enormous. Morrison was a notorious playboy, well-known even within A.T., while Lilian had grown up sheltered and doted upon.

No one would believe these two could end up together.

Someone like Lilian, mild and simple, was hardly the type Morrison would favor. And Lilian, a good girl, could never handle a playboy like him.

Since Tina had already figured out Lilian’s marks, she didn’t insist on dresses that revealed shoulders, cleavage, or back. Instead, she moved to a rack and began carefully selecting again.

If shoulders couldn’t show, cleavage was out, and back was off-limits—then why not reveal the waist?

Tina had already noticed Lilian’s slim waist and balanced figure. Showing a bit of that slender waist would look stunning.

Lilian stared at the dress Tina handed her, speechless.

It was a tight white dress with a very conservative neckline, designed so nothing on her upper body would show—perfect to hide her marks.

However, the middle part of the dress was cut away entirely, leaving only a thin strip of fabric in the front connecting the top and the skirt. When worn, her entire waist would be exposed...

Lilian was at a loss—how could she refuse this dress? She’d checked herself in the mirror after her morning shower: only her upper body had marks, her waist was clean.

Her gaze instinctively flicked toward Morrison, hoping for his opinion, but he was frowning on the phone, completely unaware of what was happening.

Pulling back her gaze, Lilian bit her lip. Her intuition screamed Morrison wouldn’t like to see her in this.

Just one look from her, and Tina was convinced—there really was something going on between Lilian and Morrison. Surprised, yet understanding, she smiled to herself. Love was a strange magic that could bind two people from completely different worlds.

So she urged the young lady,

"Go on, try this one on. It’ll look amazing."

Then Tina practically pushed Lilian toward the fitting room, and Lilian could only obey.

Just as Lilian stepped inside, Morrison finished his phone call and came over to Tina,

"You picked out a new dress for her again?"

"Mm-hmm," Tina smiled.

"For such a young and beautiful girl, dressing her so plain and old-fashioned is such a waste."

Morrison frowned, displeased that Tina had swapped out Lilian’s previous dress,

"You designed that dress yourself. Calling it plain and old-fashioned—aren’t you just shooting yourself in the foot?"

Tina’s smile only grew wider,

"Hey boss, you always say you like beautiful women—pretty faces, pretty clothes. The more skin the better, right? So why this time, why don’t you want Washington’s little sister to look good?"

Morrison’s irritation flared. He grit his teeth and shot Tina a glare,

"When did I ever say I liked women showing more skin?"

Sure, he had been reckless and liked that kind of thing when he was younger—who didn’t? But Tina was boldly exposing his past right here, and with Lilian just a fitting room away. Could he not be annoyed? Of course, he had to grit his teeth and defend himself.

"Stop making excuses. Aren’t all you men like this?"

Tina tossed her long, wavy hair with flair, continuing to torment Morrison,

"Why so tense? It’s just a casual chat."

Morrison clenched his jaw. He seriously regretted bringing Lilian to this she-devil.

At that moment, Lilian stepped out, now wearing the new dress. Morrison’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

Gone was the black dress. Instead, she wore a pure white gown that perfectly showcased her flawless skin. White was a difficult color to pull off, but Lilian looked stunning in it—fair and radiant.

The dress suited her beautifully—but what really made Morrison want to scream was the style.

The top was indeed modest, showing nothing, but her slim waist was completely exposed. The sides near her waist were cut away, leaving only fabric wrapping tightly around her perky hips and the smooth curves of her waist...

This was far worse than showing cleavage or back—it was downright cruel.

Morrison glared fiercely at Tina. This woman was clearly trying to drive him mad.

But Tina just couldn’t stop showering Lilian with compliments in front of the mirror.

"Wow, absolutely stunning! This one’s perfect—no need to pay, I’m giving it to you."

"No, no, I’ll buy it myself," Lilian quickly declined Tina’s generosity.

Honestly, Lilian did feel the dress was beautiful. Wearing it felt like a transformation—she felt confident and undeniably charming.

Yet, just by looking at Morrison’s expression, she knew he didn’t like it.

Sure enough, Morrison’s eyes lingered on the curve of Lilian’s exposed waist as it dipped into her hips, then he spoke to Tina,

"I don’t think this dress suits her. The previous one was just right—"

If Lilian showed up at the banquet dressed like this, she’d attract every man’s gaze in the room. How could he possibly allow that?

But this was Tina’s territory. No matter how much Morrison protested, it was useless. Lilian voiced her reluctance, but Tina was too strong-willed. In the end, they had to settle on this dress.

Later, Morrison chose a classic black suit for himself. Tina folded a crisp white handkerchief into a beautiful flower and tucked it into his pocket, smiling brightly,

"Here, don’t be mad."

That simple pocket square perfectly matched Lilian’s white gown in an inexplicable way. Even Morrison had to admire Tina’s keen eye for details.

Feeling a bit more at ease, Morrison glanced at Tina with a frown. Did she put that pocket square in with some deeper meaning? This woman was too sharp.

Tina laughed and explained,

"We come as a pair, boss. Aren’t you going to the event with Washington’s little sister? I just made sure you two looked coordinated."

Her explanation eased Morrison’s suspicions somewhat.

After all, it made sense. People like them—Dave, Laurent, and himself—always attended banquets as couples. He and Lilian would naturally appear as each other’s plus ones. Making their outfits match was perfectly reasonable.

No matter Tina’s real intentions, Morrison was satisfied with that.
