DC: Rise of the Kryptonian Tyrant
Chapter 372: The Flash Contacts the Flash Group
Star Laboratory
The entire Star Laboratory was shrouded in haze, wrapped in a quiet, mournful atmosphere.
After killing Iris, Bardi changed his appearance and became Barry Allen, performing a grief-stricken act of mourning for several days.
Especially when facing Iris's father, who was furious and overwhelmed with grief, believing Barry had killed his daughter, Bardi deepened the portrayal of sorrow. His appearance became disheveled, his face unshaven and covered with fibrous stubble. He drank all day to numb the pain and looked as if he had given up on the world.
Taking advantage of this, he directly disbanded Team Flash, instructing Cisco and Caitlin to disperse and handle matters separately.
From then on, Central City no longer had the Flash.
But from the original timeline, Savitar did succeed. In the original TV series, Barry traveled to the future, saw Savitar's victory, Iris's death, and that Barry disbanded Team Flash.
Now, Bardi simply replaced that version of Barry. With the same soul frequency, the same memories, and superb acting skills, Bardi had become Barry Allen—the Flash who lost his wife.
From any angle, it was completely reasonable. Under Bardi's manipulation, there wasn't the slightest disruption to the Speed Force or the timeline. Even the time wraiths within the Speed Force had no grounds to detect or eliminate Bardi, because, by all accounts, he was now Barry Allen.
Of course, Bardi had no intention of actually living Barry's life or dealing with the aftermath of his wife's death.
But since Savitar's body and soul were identical to Barry Allen's, he could seamlessly connect to the Flash Contact Group. To fully become Barry, to complete the act of the bereaved Flash, he needed to access the group.
Bardi was intrigued. He wanted to find out who had dared to make a move against him in secret across the multiverse.
"There are traces of magic…"
Bardi rubbed his gaunt face, the fibrous stubble pricking his fingertips. The look was from days of drinking and deliberate neglect.
"Who was it?"
"Zeus? Trigon? Another one of the only gods…?"
Bardi pondered. The Phantom Stranger also used magic. But would the Phantom Stranger dare deceive him? Bardi didn't think so.
Across the multiverse and among the only gods, the number of those capable of advanced magic was limited. Most quasi-unique gods and the only gods could perform some magic, but with the minimal traces left behind, it was impossible to determine who had tried to manipulate him.
"Technical designs of the Monitor race…"
Bardi removed the contact group from his brain. The orb of light hovered over his palm, illusory and spinning. Countless invisible threads extended from it, spanning time and space, connecting to numerous universes.
Within the Monitor race, Bardi knew of Mandrakk. He was the cosmic guardian who had last come to Oa and sent his agents to clash with the Green Lantern Corps. In the end, Bardi wiped out both factions and directly absorbed the Lantern Corps' forces.
As for Mandrakk, the so-called Watcher, he didn't even say a word. He didn't dare retaliate or show himself. Bardi hadn't even seen him face-to-face.
Could it have been that spineless coward, stirring up trouble behind the scenes?
"The spatial-temporal design in the dimensional layer can be used to craft a multiverse contact group. This kind of construction… quite ingenious."
"To make a contact group that spans the multiverse, there must be someone from another dimension involved."
"It seems like some people have teamed up against me."
Bardi lightly stroked the stubble on his chin. A cold glint flashed in his eyes.
They were really looking for death.
In the multiverse, he was invincible.
This wasn't arrogance. As the only god, Bardi's power and identity made him untouchable within the multiverse. What's more, he now comprehended part of the essence of the Speed Force. He knew that the Speed Force barrier was also the boundary of the multiverse, preventing outer gods from entering.
Those only gods could only send avatars inside, and no avatar could be Bardi's match. At most, they were just food.
So within the multiverse, Bardi was truly invincible. No matter how many came for him, they would only be consumed.
"Let's see how many so-called 'talents' have gathered to oppose me."
Bardi's eyes flashed coldly. He pushed the Flash contact orb back into his head, using Savitar's identical body and soul to deeply sync with the Flash group and access its data stream.
Instantly, a flood of messages filled Bardi's mind.
"By the way, has anyone tried using the Speed Force… for that?"
"Say it... I tried!"
"What?!"
"WHAT?!"
"SHOCKED!"
"Utterly shocked!"
"Ridiculously shocked!"
"Can you all stop acting surprised? My wife is a speedster in this universe!"
"I see…"
"But if she's using speed mode, she's still just a normal person…"
"The entire event is over in 0.1 seconds…"
"You really are the Flash…"
"I tried it too. Mine's not a speedster."
"6666666"
"Bro really used Speed Force and not a speedster…"
"Is the other party still alive?"
"I'm seriously speechless…"
"Who was it? Did you cheat on Iris?"
"Cheating? That was my ex. Supergirl!"
"…"
"…"
"…"
"So, how was it?"
"With an opponent that powerful, did you use speed mode? What was the result?"
"Cough… Win or lose, doesn't matter. Everyone was satisfied."
"Congrats!"
"Congrats!"
"Congrats, brother!"
"Teach me the secrets of the Speed Force!"
"Teach me the secrets of the Speed Force!"
"Teach me the secrets of the Speed Force!"
"Teach me the secrets of the Speed Force!"
"Alright, alright. The key is that the vibration frequency breaks through the defense of a steel body…"
Bardi went silent.
He had killed Barry Allen and his wife, then used Savitar's identical structure to impersonate the Flash. He faked a broken-down appearance, disbanded Team Flash, drank heavily, grew a scraggly beard, and looked like a mess. Then, he entered the Flash Contact Group hoping to uncover which lunatic in the multiverse was scheming against him.
Instead, what he saw was a group of Flashes enthusiastically discussing all kinds of Speed Force… techniques.
This kind of topic completely blindsided Bardi and left him at a loss.
Bardi quietly stared, then took a deep breath.
Was this group of fools trying to force him to act?
(To be continued.)
