DC: Rise of the Kryptonian Tyrant
Chapter 378: Lead Away
Temple of Barmulodi.
Earth is no longer called Earth. In this universe, it has been renamed and officially became the Temple of Barmulodi, the center of the universe.
In a vast and spacious bedroom, a cloud-like bed floated gently. A tall and powerful figure, white as jade and radiating divine light, lay still as his eyelids trembled slightly.
Bardi opened his eyes. His gaze was as deep as a black hole, slowly recovering from his slumber.
He had no soul.
There was no soul anymore. When he became the God of Evolution, his soul and body had completely merged, becoming a single, unified entity—the only God of Evolution.
Other sole gods who descend do so through their souls. They choose to descend, absorbing the unique information that belongs to them to strengthen their bodies.
Some also spread faith to absorb the self-information present in the thoughts of all beings.
Then there are demon gods like Darkseid and Trigon, who have no scruples. Their method involves the soul creating countless projection avatars, projecting them into various universes across the multiverse, forcibly devouring all information, destroying universes, and plundering recklessly—a crude and destructive approach.
Of course, there is also a type of information called the "source," which serves as the sustenance of the sole god's supreme power. But now, sources within the multiverse have become nearly impossible to find. Everything has already been searched. Even Bardi has never encountered a source. It is said to be something only a sole god can bestow.
Because Bardi has no soul, he cannot create projection avatars. However, spreading his faith has always continued—better than boredom.
The method he always used is the descent of secondary information condensed from himself. In truth, this descent is not a real one, as it still requires Bardi's sleeping body to remain in control.
Like playing with a remote-controlled plane—Bardi is the controller. Once the plane crashes, that's it. It has no effect on Bardi's actual body.
Compared to the projection avatars or soul descents used by other sole gods, Bardi's method is a new operational model at the level of a sole god.
For other sole gods, descending through the soul is commonplace. Even if their souls are sealed, recovery only takes a short time and doesn't cause major harm.
But the Ghost assumed Bardi used a soul descent because he didn't create projection avatars. He believed Bardi's soul could be sealed, giving him enough time to throw Bardi's body onto the Wall of Origin—sealing him there and resolving the biggest threat to the multiverse.
Of course, the Ghost couldn't have imagined that, due to the God of Evolution having no soul and thus being unable to project clones, Bardi had developed a brand-new method.
In the Ghost's eyes, Bardi's dissemination system was a new and efficient absorption mechanism, far more effective than soul descent or projection avatars.
Just spread it and wait for the harvest.
The Ghost couldn't even fathom what it would be like if the entire multiverse operated on Bardi's system.
"Master, Oa Star. The Lantern Corps has been invaded."
Terminal Hera projected her graceful figure and reported.
Bardi, who had been thinking about the Ghost and the others, paused. By reason, ordinary battles didn't need to be reported to him. In the Barmulodi universe, Bardi's divine power was at its peak.
The Nine Lantern Corps.
The red light of rage, orange light of avarice, yellow light of fear, green light of willpower, blue light of hope, indigo light of compassion, violet light of love, black light of death, and white light of life—all under his command, maintained order across the universe, led by the mischievous Kanna.
Of course, most of the time, Kanna was off riding a cosmic dolphin, not caring in the slightest. But as the most powerful spirit of the White Lantern, she symbolically ruled all Nine Lantern Corps.
The key point was that Oa was the center of the Lantern Corps. It housed his own people and served as the ruling hub over all cosmic races, taming them into order.
The Lantern Corps' power was an invincible force in this universe. And since there were no other forces here, Bardi really couldn't think of anyone who would dare to touch the Lantern Corps in this universe.
That left only power from outside the Barmulodi universe.
"Who is it?"
Bardi pondered, having some speculation. Things were moving faster than expected.
"A battleship from the Monitor race. And a Golden Superman. After data comparison, it's highly likely that he comes from the Fifth Dimension," Terminal Hera reported.
"Golden Superman!"
Bardi raised his eyebrows.
Golden Superman was merely a quasi-sole god, but he was a troublesome existence due to his origin from the Fifth Dimension.
Fifth-dimensional beings lived in a five-dimensional space. In the endlessly long history of time, the Fifth Dimension was created by a sole god. It didn't exist within the usual concepts of time, space, or dimensionality. It was completely untraceable.
Even a sole god couldn't locate or enter the Fifth Dimension unless acknowledged by it.
The real problem was that within the multiverse, Golden Superman could enter the Fifth Dimension from anywhere.
Meaning, even if Bardi could defeat Golden Superman, he could never catch him.
Bardi's face turned cold. He didn't expect the Spectre and the others to move so quickly, coming directly to his universe.
Snap
He snapped his fingers. Terminal Hera immediately used the Lantern Corps' network to tear open a portal leading to Oa Star.
Bardi stepped through, entering space, and found Oa Star behind him undergoing dramatic change.
As far as the eye could see, the entire planet had turned to gold. All colors, buildings, and creatures of various cosmic races within the omega-shaped constructs of Oa had been turned to gold, transforming the planet into a golden sphere.
All beings and things were frozen, turned to gold.
"Golden Superman. Monitor Mandrakk. Are you the only ones here?"
Bardi's eyes swept across Oa impassively, settling on the Golden Superman.
Behind Golden Superman stood countless Monitor warships, densely packed across the starry sky. The enormous mothership was even larger than the sun, surrounded by Earth-sized catcher vessels equipped with heavy weaponry, stealth technology, and rapid-kill capabilities for defending the mothership.
Planet-sized destroyers loomed, the most terrifying ships in the Monitor arsenal. Massive extermination machines capable of sanitizing universes with self-evolving reality-warping missiles, doomsday detonators, and infected hordes. They were used to eliminate continuity-threatening contaminants. Facing the enemy, they were a nightmare.
"I don't want to fight you, Barmulodi. As long as you leave the multiverse and return to the realm of the gods where you belong, all this can be avoided."
Golden Superman tried to persuade with compassion.
"Modifying reality and turning my power into gold is your way of showing peace?"
Bardi's eyes swept over his golden face like a blade—indifferent and cold.
Golden Superman shook his head. "I will restore them. I promise not to harm any lives. I only need you to come with me and stay there for a while."
"Stay for a while? What do you mean?"
Bardi's expression suddenly changed.
...
Earth.
In front of Raven, the Phantom Stranger and the Spectre suddenly appeared.
(To be continued.)
