    Both Athena and I freeze.

    As far as I know, Athena hates kids or is it just a child fathered by me? But why is she so good to Rayen?

    The silence stretches as I hold my son tighter, "Rayen, miss Dawson is very busy."

    Feeling like I''ll lose my mind, I nod at the guards before asking, "Where is Leah?" "We are not sure, Sir.” Hunter responds.

    Someone taps on the mic signaling the start of whatever shit is going on here. I grab my keys and walk out knowing Rayen is already tired and should be in bed.

    It''s only after I ce him in the car seat does he look at me with sleepy eyes, "Daddy?"

    My brows meet in a deep frown.

    "Teacher said Mummies are happy when they see their children. But mummy looks annoyed."

    I pause at the door, where I''m rendered speechless.

    "She''s just... tired sometimes," I say, forcing my voice to stay calm as I hold his tiny hand. "Grown-ups get tired a lot. But she loves you, buddy."

    Rayen nods sleepily, but his eyes drift to the window, doubt still clouding his face. What the fuck has Leah been busy with?

    As if right on queue, I hear a rushing sound of heels hitting the concrete.

    Rayen is now asleep as I shut the door softly before turning my angry gaze to Leah.

    "Alex." She smiles and tries to reach for a hug but I step back, cing my hands in my pockets.

    "Where the hell where you leaving Rayen on his own?" My eyes are furious.

    Not many know about my son''s identity but I can bet you I know of so many people who would want to hurt me knowing he''s My weakness.

    Her eyes sh in fear, "Alex, I didn''t leave him alone. I had to meet-"

    I grind my teeth so hard Leah steps back in fear.
