Chapter 100
Chapter 100: Chapter 100Fifth Trial...
As soon as Aaron entered through the door, he was taken to the fifth and last trial. As usual, he closed his eyes, as the teleportation process was too strainful for his eyes. When he opened his eyes, he found himself in a desert land.
There is nothing on the ground. It is devoid of life. There isn’t even a blade of grass present anywhere.
"Are the monsters, desert monsters? If that is so, then this trial would take a long time", Aaron muttered.
Desert monsters are very tricky. Many of them live in the underground due to the harsh weather outside, where resources are bare minimum. They would normally burrow deep into the ground as a protection from the heat and also to look for water sources, as water is very limited on the surface.
Since they live underground, these monsters are very good at surprise attacks. He needed to be very careful if he wanted to deal with these monsters and complete the fifth trial, which means it might take a lot of his time, and that is something he lacks, but there was nothing he could do about that.
He could only start his hunt and hope that he could complete the trial before the time to leave the ruins.
When Aaron was about to start his hunt, a mechanical voice was heard.
[Welcome to the Wave Trial, participant.] S~ea??h the NovelFire.net* website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
[To complete the trial, you have to defeat ten waves of monsters.]
[The first wave monsters would be between level 10 and 19. The second wave would be between level 20 and 29, and so on.]
[Five minutes of rest would be given once the wave was defeated before the next wave appears.]
[The faster the trial is completed, the better the rewards.]
[First wave starts in 3...2...1..]
Roar!
Roar!
Multiple roars could be heard from a distance. There are about a hundred of these monsters here.
"What in the hell?" Aaron muttered when he heard those roars and saw that there was indeed a wave as the voice spoke.
There was no time at the moment to contemplate about the voice that he had just heard a few seconds ago. There is a monster wave incoming, and from the sounds and from what he can see, it is near him.
So, he immediately summoned his undead army and ordered all of them to hunt the monsters, leaving no protection for himself.
There was no need. He clearly remembered that the voice said that this wave contains monsters between levels 10 and 19. Even though there are a lot of monsters in the wave, they can’t do anything to him. Moreover, the undead he sent were higher in strength and number. So, there was no chance of a monster slipping by and attacking him.
Even if by chance that happens, his attributes are very high. So, that might not even scratch him at this point.
Soon, the monsters and their undead clashed. The outcome was as expected. The monsters were crushed in an instant.
The only bad thing was that the monsters disappeared into thin air, leaving nothing behind.
Soon, the mechanical voice appeared.
[First wave completed.]
[Do you want to rest or start the second wave?]
[Rest time would not be accumulated.]
The time here was limited for him, and this wave didn’t even scratch his army. So, there was no need to stop the fighting.
"Continue to the second wave", he answered.
[Second wave starts in 3...2...1..]
Roar!
Roar!
The monsters have returned, but a bit stronger this time.
Even though that was the case, they pose no danger. So, Aaron sent his army to deal with them quickly, and they did.
Those monsters didn’t stand a chance at all in front of his undead army. They lacked the numbers and strength to even cause a dent in his army.
Once the second wave was cleared, the mechanical voice reappeared.
[Second wave completed.]
[Do you want to rest or start the third wave?]
"Continue to the third wave", Aaron gave the answer without thinking much.
[Third wave starts in 3...2...1..]
Roar!
Roar!
The third wave appeared just as the two waves before appeared. The number of monsters remained the same, but the levels of the monsters changed. They are now ranging from level 30 to 39.
The operation remained the same. Aaron sent his undead army to deal with, and when the wave was cleared, there would be notifications about the completion and a question regarding continuation to the next wave.
Aaron didn’t waste time again and continued to clear the waves of monsters till the end of the sixth wave, which had monsters ranging between level 60 and 69.
After that, instead of directly starting the seventh wave, he decided to rest for five minutes.
He was not tired at all. Though he had to kill a few monsters in the last two rounds, the energy spent was minimal, but he knew that wouldn’t be the case for the next four rounds, especially when he would be facing the last two waves of monsters.
The monsters that he would face in the next two waves would be closer to his level, and that means he has to invest a little to clear them at a fast rate.
The last two waves, those monsters would be above his level, which would be very difficult to deal with. When Aaron started the second trial, he was at level 78, which means the final wave of monsters would have monsters at a higher level than him, with a level difference of almost 30.
Even though there was an increment in levels with hunting monsters in the second to fourth trials and clearing the monster waves till now, the level difference would be pretty high.
This is why he decided to take a rest in between, which he did.
Once the rest time was over, the seventh wave started, where the monsters started at level 70 and reached level 79.
Soon, he cleared them and took rest once again.
Then came the eighth wave, where the monsters were between levels 80 and 89. In this wave, a few of his undead were killed, which he replenished during the battle. The ones he couldn’t do during the battle, he did so during the rest time.
The ninth wave contained monsters between levels 90 and 99. The situation was a bit worse than before. More than half his undead army slots were empty, even though he was replenishing them during the battle.
Finally, the tenth wave, the lowest level was level 100 and the highest reached level 109. The undead army saw utter destruction. Aaron had to be on the move so that the monsters wouldn’t be able to catch up with him to injure him.
He had to actively participate in this battle, something that he hadn’t done in a long time, as he had skeletons and ghosts that took care of most enemies easily.
---
As soon as Aaron cleared the tenth wave, he collapsed on the ground. He was tired after dealing with them and needed to rest for a few minutes.
