Chapter 104: Chapter 104With the help of the token, Aaron soon found a portal. Once he did, he didn’t waste any time and entered the portal. When he entered the portal, he instinctively closed his eyes.

Travelling through portals with eyes open would be damaging to the eyes, at least at lower ranks. Once a person reaches rank 5 or higher, it will be easier for them to keep their eyes open.

The only exception would be if the person has space power or an item to protect them from the side effects.

When Aaron opened his eyes, he was outside the ruins and had returned to the academy grounds, where he had entered the portal to the ruins a week before.

Aaron looked around only to see that there were a lot of students present. It means that most of the students who entered have returned. He should be among the last batch to return. There was no rule about the last to return being disqualified or something like that. So, there was no problem for him.

The returned students are standing in various queues.

Aaron wondered why they were like that, and that’s when he heard a shout from one of the staff of the academy, "Students, join a queue and submit your tokens at the counter".

Aaron understood why everyone was standing in queues instead of leaving the place. Seven days inside ruins shouldn’t have been easy for anyone.

He too joined a queue randomly, as almost every queue seemed longer. Nothing was short. So he chose a random queue as there would be no difference.

    ---

An hour went by. The number of students on the grounds started to decrease. After they submitted the tokens, they left. Everyone is tired after spending seven days in the Undead Ruins, where nothing is edible, and dangers lurked everywhere.

    Soon, it was Aaron’s turn.

"Give me your ID first, and then your tokens. The number would be counted here", the staff member said indifferently.

She has been saying this for some time and was not at all impressed by the tokens that the students brought back. Most of the tokens brought were Blue tokens, which are the lowest of the three.

There are a few students who brought back Red tokens, and that’s all. She didn’t see a Black token at all. She knows that getting one is difficult, but this is Dusk Academy, one of the top five academies.

She didn’t believe that this one might have achieved anything differently.

Aaron handed her the ID card first as asked.

She immediately checked his details, "Aaron Skyhart?" she asked for confirmation.

    "Yes", Aaron replied.

She returned her ID, "Now the tokens", she said.

Aaron immediately placed the token pile beside her on the desk. At first, the staff member didn’t see any abnormality. There are a lot of tokens, but almost everyone does.

The students hunted a lot of low-ranking monsters and obtained Blue tokens.

She only saw the abnormality when she turned to count. There are Black tokens, and a lot of them. Most of them are Black tokens, with only a few Red tokens. The Blue tokens are even lower compared to the other two.

She couldn’t speak at all when she saw the pile. For a moment, she was dazed.

Seeing the abnormality, Aaron spoke, "Hello", he waved in front of her eyes, which brought her back from the daze.

As a staff member, she shouldn’t be in such a position, which is an embarrassment.

"Cough, Cough, okay, let’s count the number", she said as she started to count the tokens, which only took less than five minutes.

"I have entered the details. The result of this competition would be posted on the academy website", she said, trying to look professional.

"Oh, thank you", Aaron said and left.

The staff member watched Aaron leave and muttered to herself, "Aaron Skyhart, hmm, where did I hear that name before?"

"Wait, isn’t that the top student of the alliance exam?" she remembered.

"No wonder he collected so many black tokens. It looks like the Death class really got a genius", she lamented as she knew that with the boy’s talent, he could become a top powerhouse, but the class may limit him from reaching that position.

    ---

Once Aaron returned to his house in the academy, he wanted to lie down and sleep more than anything, but there was something that he needed to do before that.

He hasn’t used the reward from the fifth trial, as there was no time for him to think about using that, as the time to leave the ruins neared.

He immediately took the Attribute Keystone from his storage and used it. Using it was simple. One has to push their mana into the item, and the item would activate. It would unlock the hidden attribute before turning to dust.

It was exactly what Aaron did. Once he injected his mana, he felt a change in his body. After a few seconds, the crystal turned into dust.

"Let’s see if Perception did appear on the status", Aaron muttered as he checked his status.

    "Status"

It worked as advised, and the Perception attribute is no longer hidden from his status.

"Now that I have unlocked one of the hidden attributes, it means that I have more attributes to dump those excessive FSPs. Before awakening, I always wondered how to improve my attributes as the level-ups would only give a few FSPs, but now I am wondering how to get rid of all these FSPs".

"Perception is so small when compared with other attributes. Let’s improve it", Aaron immediately decided to dump FSPs into the new attribute.

Since he has no idea what improving does to his body, he tried to drop a single FSP into the Perception Column.

"Huh, why is it not working?" Aaron muttered in a confused tone.

"Can’t the hidden attributes be improved this way?" he scratched his head in confusion.

"Damn it. I thought I had finally found a way to use the FSPs properly", he cursed out.

There was nothing else he could do about that. Aaron has read about hidden attributes in a small copy that he has in his personal library, but there was no information regarding how to unlock them or how to improve them anywhere.

He knew that such knowledge should not be considered low-level. So, there was no info about that in the books given to him. He knew that he had to one day visit the library to learn more about hidden attributes, but that was supposed to be far in the future.

He never thought that he would get an item that could unlock one of the hidden attributes at this time.

"It looks like I need to go to the library in the morning to learn more about this. Anyway, I have decided that I should spend more time on reading books and learning new knowledge when I was in the ruins. I can start with learning about the hidden attributes first", Aaron decided.

"Now, though, I am tired. I need to sle...", Aaron couldn’t complete his thoughts as he fell on his bed and drifted to sleep.
