Chapter 72: Chapter 72A new day came, but nothing changed in his schedule. The previous night, he had already checked the academy website to see which lectures were scheduled for the week.

If you want to attend a class, you can pay and register on the website itself, and a seat will be allotted to those who register.

Like the previous week, there are no classes that he is interested in attending. So, he ignored them.

There are only a few lectures in a week; most of them are on repeat twice or thrice in a week. This was so that the interested parties would not miss out on the classes if they were tied up elsewhere for one of the sessions.

They can attend the repeated class. This way, they won’t be tied up to attend the classes. They can do whatever they want to and at the same time can attend the classes they are interested in.

Also, there are a lot of students and if everyone wants to attend a class, the rooms would be insufficent.

So, unless the class is conducted either by a guest lecturer or by someone who is said to be unique and doesn’t teach the same topic twice, most classes are repeated. So, even if you miss the class today, there should be a chance to attend that class the next day.

This is why, though the lecture schedules look full, they are not.

Looking at the classes that were scheduled for the week, Aaron has a feeling that he may not attend the classes that would be on this entire month.

"The topics that the professors are going to discuss are basic topics, that can be easily understood by reading once or twice for most people. So, no need to waste credits on that".

"From the looks, it looks like the entire month would be for basics. The classes that I would need to attend may take place after this month. So, it means that I would be free to do what I want to do till the competition".

This was the competition that the headmaster had spoken about on the Orientation Day.

It had been a week since he had announced, and that meant there were only three more weeks before the competition would be held.

Though the rewards are announced clearly, from the headmaster’s words, it could be understood that those rewards wouldn’t be lame. They would definitely be top-notch, at least for the freshers.

For the second-year students and above, what use could there be for an E-rank dungeon pass or something that goes with that reward?

This is one of the top five academies. So, the students that attend here are talented enough to at least reach Rank-3 before they start stumbling and stop improving because they can’t complete the rank-up mission.

Since this competition is only for the first years, though the rewards may not be as dazzling as competitions held for the seniors or the year end competition which would evaluate everyone, the rewards are what everyone requires at this moment.

Whoever is the winner of this competition would get so much ahead of everyone in the year. This was because there are credits, a free dungeon entry coupon and many more for the winner, which would make them do a lot of things that they couldn’t do before due to lack of credits.

Every first year who got a seat here at the academy should have reached level 15 by the time the academy started. It meant they would have to level up five times at max and complete the rank-up quest, which should be a very easy one.

So, a month or two would be more than enough for them to do that and become Rank-1.

Once you are Rank-1, hunting monsters of Rank-0 would be pretty much useless. The experience gained would be too low to level up. So, no one would be dumb enough to waste credits to enter the F-rank dungeons, but not many would have the credits to enter E-rank dungeons.

The first month, there are free groceries, but from the second month, one has to buy them using credits. So, there won’t be as many credits available in balance as they would like to do something like dungeon diving a lot of times.

So, getting some bonus credits and a free entrance to the dungeon is considered as god sent to them. There is no way one would miss out on opportunities like that. Moreover, the headmaster didn’t specify what exactly the top three would get, but one can guess that they should be pretty great.

This opportunity was something even Aaron didn’t want to miss. He needs to grow stronger as fast as he can. It was the reason why he concentrated more on levelling up than hunting for loot at the moment.

He needs the FSPs and SPs that would be awarded to him as he levels up. As long as he makes sure that he has very high attributes and the skills are at the top, he would be the winner.

"It looks like it is going to be the same schedule as last week", Aaron muttered in disappointment.

It was not that he wanted to stop levelling up, but he wanted to attend the lectures of the professor. It was the main reason why the academies were established, for the professors to share their experience in the world, but he didn’t want to waste any credits for topics that he could understand easily without much help.

"It looks like Dungeon Hall early in the morning, as usual, but I should visit the Student Resource Centre before I go to the dungeon hall. I need to select the three general skills that the academy promised to provide me", Aaron thought as he started to prepare for the day.

    ---

    Student Resource Centre...

"Aaron", a feminine voice called Aaron from behind as he was about to enter the Student Resource Centre.

Aaron felt that he had heard this voice before but failed to immediately identify to whom it belongs. He turned around and saw an old accomplice.

"Hello, Senior Reyna", he greeted the girl, as he instantly recognized her.

She was the one who gave him the tour of the academy. Though he failed to pay attention while she was showing him around, he remembered her very well as he had to apologize a bit due to that.
