Chapter 74: Chapter 74The three skills that Aaron chose were Mana Regeneration, Mana Ball, and Dual Cast.

Mana Regeneration (Rank 0): It’s a passive skill that increases the natural mana regeneration of a person. At present, the increase is +10%. The percentage increases as the rank of the skill increases.

Dual Cast (Rank 0): Cast two different skills or the same skill twice at the same time. Mana wastage happens when two skills are cast at the same time, and the wastage depends on what the skills were.

Different or opposite skills would waste a lot of mana when compared to casting the same skills.

The time required to cast also increases when two skills are cast, and if they are different or opposite skills, then the time would increase by a lot.

As the rank of the skill increases, the mana wastage decreases and so does the time required to cast the skills.

These are the best skills that he can make use of now and the reason why he chose them.

Mana regeneration is a passive skill that works for every awakener, not just spellcasters. Even warriors use skills that burn mana, though the amount of mana used is very low. Usually, the natural mana regeneration would be more than enough for them.

Dual Cast can be considered a half-passive and half-active skill. It can increase the number of skills that can be cast at the same time. There is an upgrade of Dual Cast known as Multi Cast, but at this point, there is no need to be greedy. Aaron has very few skills that he would cast actively. So, taking that one would be useless.

The only skill that Aaron chose for attack purposes was Mana Ball. He has a movement skill that can help him escape but lacks proper attack and defence skills. There are some defence skills, but he chose an attack skill as he didn’t feel the urge to buy a defence skill at this moment.

He is going to stay inside the academy as long as possible, improving his power as fast as possible. So, there won’t be any danger to his life in the near future, as long as he does not become an idiot to dive into a powerful dungeon with bosses that can strike him down easily.

After learning the three skills, he didn’t immediately start the hunt for the day. Before that, he decided to improve the three skills to Rank 3, which only cost him 9 per skill, bringing the cost to a total of 27.

The reason he did that was because of a few reasons.

The cost was small, and he could always earn a lot of SPs easily as he levels up. He is close to Rank-2, and when he reaches Rank-2, the number of SPs earned would increase to +8 per level and due to his talent, that would be +80 per level.

So, there was no need to worry about the lack of SPs for other skills, like Summon Ghost.

Also, Mana Regeneration is a passive skill, which wouldn’t improve on its own. One has to invest those SPs in them.

It was what was advised. Save the SPs earned from level ups and use them on skills that can’t be improved faster or can’t be improved at all, like passive skills.

Even Dual Cast is considered as half passive but it can grow, but not at the pace as normal active skills.

Only Mana Ball has the best case to improve but with the competition in three weeks, he wanted to improve as fast as he can and having high ranking attack skill would be a boost.

So, he improved all three skills to rank 3, which left him with only 6 SPs in the end.

His Mana Regeneration, due to its increase in rank of the skill to Rank 3, now has improved by 40%, which is a good thing and makes it less likely for him to enter the Weaken State. It is the state where one has no mana in their body, which would make them vulnerable to others.

The higher this skill rank is, the better it would be, but for now, he lacks the SPs, and also, there was no rush at the moment to do so. It would be more than enough for now.
