Chapter 94
Chapter 94: Chapter 94When Aaron laid his eyes on the man who appeared out of thin air, his first thought was that the man looked weird. Something about him was off, but he couldn’t pinpoint what that was.
He was quite busy thinking about what the man had done to get into the ruins, and never wondered that the man had been inside these ruins all along.
The man chuckled, seeing Aaron’s terror. It is understandable what was going on in the boy’s mind. He has experienced a lot, and discerning something like what the boy in front of him was thinking and fearing about was a small thing for him.
"Boy, there is no need to fear me. I am just a guardian. I won’t harm you", the man said.
Aaron couldn’t understand what the man was saying at first, but once his fear reduced, he quickly understood. The man was the guardian of the palace, but shouldn’t the guardians attack intruders?
This vexed him a bit.
"Senior, sorry for the intrusion. I was just curious to see what was inside. If the senior allows me to leave, I would never set foot here again", Aaron spoke, bowing a little, showing the man some respect.
Aaron didn’t know how strong the man was, but he understood that he was very powerful. So, being a bit respectful is a must, or he might not be able to return.
The man chuckled in amusement and said, "Boy, whether you leave or not, that totally depends on you".
The man was bored staying here alone for years, and thought to speak in a cryptic manner, which can be inferred in different ways depending on how the receiver perceives.
Aaron heard those words and understood that he had to do something to leave this room, but what it was, he couldn’t think at all.
Though his INT is very high, the fear of the unknown power of the man is making all that high value of INT useless. He couldn’t gather his thoughts properly.
"Hahaha, boy you worrying unnecessarily. What I meant was simple. You have to pass one of trials to leave this place", the man said.
"Trials", Aaron wondered for a while, and then it clicked.
The palace was not a palace at all. It was the gateway to the trials, and this white room should be like the rest area.
"If this were an entrance to a trial, all he had to do was complete the trial, and probably the exit would appear. No need to worry about it", Aaron understood what was happening, and calmed down a little.
Aaron looked at the man, this time not with fear, but respect and asked, "Senior, you said trials. So, do I need to pass these trials to leave this place?"
The man smiled and said, "There are a total of five rooms, and that means five different trials. You can select one of the trials to complete. As long as you complete the trial, you will get a reward and a chance to leave this place".
"Senior, what if I can’t pass a trial? Can I select another one?" Aaron asked the man.
"Even if you fail to pass the trial, it doesn’t matter, as you will be sent back here to this white room. You can try that trial again or choose another one", the man said.
"So, as long as I pass the trial, no matter how many tries, I can leave here", Aaron smiled but then thought of something about the rewards at the end of the trial.
"Senior, what if I wanted to try another trial, even if I passed the first one?" Aaron asked.
The man chuckled at the question. He easily understood why Aaron asked that question. It was about the rewards. Everyone who appeared here had the same thoughts about those rewards.
Everyone believed that they were the chosen ones and thought that this was a chance to gain a lot of benefits that could be used to become powerful, but never was there a person who passed more than two.
There was someone who almost passed three, but gave up in the end as it was consuming too much time.
"When you complete the trial, and after collecting the reward at the end, you will be given options of leaving this place or returning to this room. You can choose to return here and attempt other trials".
Aaron felt better when he heard those words. More trials mean more rewards. Whether he can win or not, that was a different matter, but he now has access, which is all that matters. Sёar?h the N?vel?ire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
"Ah, what if I can’t pass other trials after the first one? Would I be stuck here?" Aaron asked after a sudden paranoid thought appeared in his mind.
"No, once you pass a trial, you can leave at any time. It doesn’t matter where you are, but remember this, once you leave you can’t enter this place again", the man said.
Hearing those words, Aaron felt better. As long as he completes a trial, he can check out the other trials and see whether he can pass or not. If he could, he would give it all he could. If he can’t, there would be no issue either.
"Okay, enough questions. Choose one of the doors", the man said, fearing that Aaron would spend the time here asking questions. So, he decided to start the trials.
As soon as she spoke, five doors appeared in front of Aaron.
---
Now the question that remains is which trial to select. The man didn’t specify which door leads to what, and from the demeanour, not interested in answering that. So, there was nothing that Aaron could do.
Aaron, after thinking for a while, selected a door randomly. He wanted to complete all the trials here if possible.
Whether he succeeds or not, it matters not. The guardian has already said that he can check all trials, and to leave, he has to pass at least one. As long as he passes one, it doesn’t matter which one.
Even if he passes the fifth one, he can leave.
Even if that is the case, he still prayed for luck, hoping to clear the first trial itself. He was hoping to clear all five and get the rewards that they had to offer. So, he prayed that he would clear the first one.
Even if he failed, he could enter again, but that means he would have wasted time, which he doesn’t want to happen. Hoping that he would clear this trial during his first try, he entered through the first door.
