CHAPTER 145: CHAPTER 145: HECTOR CHAUCER, WAIT FOR ME

Since Tiana Linden didn’t have Aiden Grant’s phone number,

she had long since blocked and deleted Aiden.

Now, she could only look at Leo Sutton and Hector Chaucer, anxiously asking,

"Do either of you have Aiden’s number?"

Hector immediately took out his phone, quickly found Aiden’s number in his contacts, and dialed it, handing the phone to her.

"Don’t worry, as long as the car belongs to Linden-Grant Pharmaceutical Group, Daisy and Laura won’t be in danger."

Catherine Armstrong, standing nearby, was already crying in panic.

Even though she knew people from Linden-Grant had taken the two children, she was still worried.

The children were taken right before her eyes, in less than half a minute.

If something terrible were to happen, Catherine wouldn’t want to live anymore.

But finding the kids was the priority now.

The call connected, and Aiden’s voice came through, cold as if speaking to a foe.

"What do you want?"

Aiden always felt guilty towards Hector.

Hector once shielded him from a knife attack, suffering a ruptured stomach, almost dying.

They had a deep bond of life-and-death friendship.

Yet, during Hector’s most difficult times, Aiden didn’t stand by him unwaveringly.

Originally, Aiden wanted to make amends.

But ever since Tiana and Hector truly got together, his feelings of guilt and desire to compensate were overtaken by jealousy and resentment.

He had only hatred left for Hector.

He hated Hector for taking away the woman he cherished most.

He gripped the phone tightly, his expression turning grim.

Tiana’s voice came through the phone:

"Aiden, I’m asking you, why did you secretly take Daisy away? Where is Daisy?"

Hearing Tiana’s voice made Aiden’s previously numb heart beat again.

He didn’t want to get excited.

But he was thrilled for only two seconds.

Sitting in the car, his heart suddenly clenched tightly, "Daisy’s missing? What exactly happened?"

Daisy was his biological daughter.

Their blood was connected, and he cared deeply for her.

As soon as he heard Daisy was missing, Aiden was alarmed, "Tiana, say something, what happened to Daisy?"

The only thing Tiana could suspect was that Aiden had taken Daisy away.

She just wanted to see Daisy quickly, "Aiden, stop pretending, where exactly did you take Daisy?"

Aiden replied helplessly, "I just returned from Kaneport, I really didn’t take Daisy. Where are you? I’ll meet up with you."

The sudden disappearance of her daughter left Tiana unable to remain calm or rational.

She clutched the phone, trembling all over, "If it wasn’t you, then who? What exactly do you want?"

The painful voice on the other end deeply tugged at Aiden’s heart.

He forced himself to calm down quickly,

and then rationally analyzed the matter.

"Tiana, I really didn’t take Daisy."

"Tell me, where did Daisy go missing, and how long has it been? I’ll figure something out."

Hearing Aiden’s calm yet worried tone, Tiana finally believed it wasn’t he who took Daisy.

But if it wasn’t Aiden, then it must have been the Linden-Grant car that abducted the two kids.

So, was it James Linden and Daniel Linden who took them?

She didn’t answer Aiden’s questions and directly hung up the phone.

Leo Sutton thought along the same lines as her, "Tiana, yesterday at the kindergarten’s autumn sports day, Daniel and James disguised themselves as school cheerleaders and kept sneaking around to get close to Daisy. Could it be the Linden father and son who took the two kids?"

Just then, Leo’s phone rang.

The caller ID showed: Daniel Linden.

The Linden people had also been blocked by Tiana, so they could only call Leo Sutton.

Tiana quickly grabbed the phone and answered, "Daniel, is it you who took Daisy and Laura?"

Daniel’s voice, filled with remorse, came through:

"Little sister, I’m sorry, this was the only way I could meet you once."

"Rest assured, Daisy and Laura are happily playing with Doudou at home."

Tiana was a bit puzzled, "Doudou?"

In the past, before she and Daisy returned to Veridia, they had picked up a white stray dog.

Its name was Doudou.

When they found it, it was dirty and ugly, with matted fur.

She and Daisy had cut its fur, dewormed it, treated it, and brought it back to health.

Doudou would wag its tail for Daisy every day, insisting on playing watermelon ball with her.

But later, Doudou was run over and killed by a car while protecting Daisy.

Afterward, Daisy hoped to have another small dog.

Tiana was afraid if they went to adopt one, the family wouldn’t accept Daisy’s small dog, so she refused.

This was the regret in Daisy’s heart.

No wonder the surveillance showed that Daisy and Laura were lured away by a white puppy.

The white puppy that lured Daisy away looks very much like Doudou!

Knowing Daisy is with Daniel Linden, Tiana Linden breathed a sigh of relief.

But she was very puzzled, "How did you know that Daisy used to have a puppy named Doudou?"

Facing his sister’s doubt, Daniel Linden answered honestly:

"Little sister, understanding Daisy’s preferences is easy, as long as you put in a little effort."

"I went to Daisy’s kindergarten and saw her wishes written in the wish mailbox."

Ha!

Such painstaking effort did nothing to move Tiana Linden.

She only felt that Daniel was doing something unnecessary.

She declared, "Daniel Linden, I am not your little sister; your little sister is Vivian Linden."

"..." On the other end, Daniel was left speechless by her retort.

He knew that because of Vivian Linden, he had deeply hurt Tiana Linden in the past.

Tiana’s attitude towards him was well deserved.

After a moment of silence, he sincerely invited, "Little sister, Dad hasn’t cooked in six or seven years. Tonight, he personally cooked a table of your favorite dishes. When you come to take Daisy home, why not stay for a family dinner? I’ll send a driver to pick you up."

Tiana responded coldly, "No need, I know the way."

...

On the airport road.

A business car drove from the airport highway towards the city.

In the car, Christopher Grant asked, "Aiden, what happened to Daisy? Is she missing again?"

Aiden Grant did not respond; he was on the phone with Daniel Linden and James Linden.

Neither of them answered.

Jane Summers asked beside him, "Could it be Vivian Linden who took Daisy away?"

Aiden felt uneasy but was very certain, "No."

After being kicked out by the Linden Family, although Vivian lived a miserable life, doing part-time jobs to get by, she wasn’t evil enough to harm a child.

Back then, to create discord between him and Tiana, Sixth Young Master Chaucer tried to make Vivian Linden firmly rooted in the Linden and Grant Families as his informant, so he had someone throw Daisy into the river.

It was Vivian Linden who, out of mercy, rescued Daisy from the river and quietly sent her back to the alley where Tiana lived.

Vivian Linden didn’t harm Daisy back then.

Now she wouldn’t harm Daisy either.

Aiden looked at the passing scenery outside the car window, musing, "Let’s go back to Star River Bay first."

Perhaps, it was Daniel Linden and James Linden who missed Daisy too much that they quietly took her away.

Daniel Linden had done such things before.

...

At Star River Bay, Tranquil Villa.

James Linden was in the kitchen on the first floor, preparing dinner.

Through the transparent floor-to-ceiling window, you could see Daisy playing happily on the green lawn outside the kitchen with Laura and Doudou.

At that moment, through Daisy, James saw a glimpse of young Tiana.

Screech...

James was so focused on watching Daisy that he cut his hand.

The pain came, and suddenly he was in tears.

Not because of the cut on his hand, but because of the memories of what he had done to his daughter before.

He had hurt his daughter too deeply.

Tiana was his biological daughter.

She was the precious daughter that Wanda nearly risked her life to give him.

Yet he repeatedly and severely wounded Tiana.

He really wasn’t a good person.

Thankfully, his beloved daughter is still in this world, and he still has a chance to make amends.

...

Twenty minutes later, a burgundy Honqi GY and a black Honqi GL almost arrived at Tranquil Villa in Star River Bay at the same time.

The Honqi GL drove into Tranquil Villa.

While the burgundy Honqi GY was stopped.

Uncle Cameron approached the car window and said to Tiana, troubled, "Tiana, your father instructed that only you are allowed inside, Mr. Chaucer cannot enter."

Tiana knew that James Linden and Daniel Linden did not support her being with Hector Chaucer.

They always believed, like the rumors, that Hector Chaucer was ruthless and cruel.

Not only meddling but also lacking sense.

She glanced at Hector Chaucer sitting in the driver’s seat, "Wait for me here, I’ll quickly get Daisy and Laura, it won’t take long."

After getting out of the car, she looked back at Hector Chaucer, "And, Hector, don’t let what the Lindens say get to you. In my heart, you’re a kind and righteous man."

Hector’s lips curled into a slight smile, "Afraid I’d be upset and specifically comforting me?"

The world has been too unfair to Hector Chaucer; no one understands the suffering and pain in his heart.

But Tiana understood.

Hector smiled and said, "Alright, go in; I’ll be here waiting for you obediently." Go quickly and return soon.
