Delayed Regrets: He Regretted Only After Her Death
Chapter 21: Are You Leaving Me for Tiana Linden?
CHAPTER 21: CHAPTER 21: ARE YOU LEAVING ME FOR TIANA LINDEN?
The person accusing Tiana Linden is Jane Summers.
Christopher Grant’s wife, and also Tiana Linden’s childhood best friend.
Before the Linden and Grant Families accused her of conspiring with Hector Chaucer, Jane Summers treated her exceptionally well, willing to defend her at any cost.
After this incident, Jane Summers suddenly saw her as a villain.
Tiana Linden didn’t want to affect the relationship between Jane Summers and Christopher Grant, so she explained:
"Jane, I’ve always seen Christopher as an elder brother next door, I have no romantic intentions towards him as you imagine."
"Besides, you know how righteous Christopher is; you should trust him."
Over the phone, Jane Summers fiercely cursed:
"I trust Christopher Grant, but I don’t trust you."
"People like you use whatever despicable means to achieve your goals."
Jane Summers had heard about Tiana Linden, who had returned to Veridia with her daughter, pretending to have cancer and feigning to entrust her child to Aiden Grant.
Jane Summers went on, "Aiden won’t fall for your schemes, so now you’re targeting my Christopher Grant, aren’t you? Let me warn you, stay away from Christopher Grant. Otherwise, don’t blame me if I come to your house one day and fight you."
Tiana Linden calmly stated, "I only asked Christopher to help reimburse my daughter’s medical fees to Aiden. I haven’t done anything else, nor have I targeted Christopher."
Jane Summers: "Tiana, stop pretending. You’ve taken two million, yet you insist on returning the two thousand medical fee. You’re just finding an excuse to get close to Christopher, disgusting, vile, despicable. You deserve the curse Aiden said—that you should get cancer and be taken by the heavens."
Everyone knows about Aiden’s venomous curse.
He genuinely wished for her death!
What’s so frightening about death?
The most terrifying thing is, how could Daisy have a father like him?
She even doubted that seeking Aiden to entrust her child initially was a wise choice.
Unwilling to drag Christopher into her matters, sparking a marital crisis, she assured with a heart full of suffocation:
"Rest assured, I won’t contact Christopher again."
With that, she hung up the phone.
Jane Summers was still not satisfied.
She took Christopher Grant’s phone, found the chat between Tiana Linden and Christopher on WeChat, and blocked Tiana.
After showering, Christopher Grant came out to find Jane Summers applying her face mask.
He wanted to reply to Tiana on WeChat, saying Aiden didn’t want to take the two thousand back; it was Aiden’s way of caring for the child, intending it as nourishment.
While searching for the chat, he couldn’t find Tiana’s profile anymore.
"Jane, did you touch my phone?"
When he looked at Jane Summers questioningly, Jane responded nonchalantly, "What if I did? Don’t you always let me check your phone freely?"
Christopher Grant sat next to Jane Summers, "I let you check it but you can’t delete Tiana’s WeChat."
Over the years everyone from the Linden and Grant families had severed ties with Tiana Linden.
Only Christopher Grant still kept Tiana’s WeChat.
Because only he suspected that Tiana was wronged all those years ago, yet no evidence was found.
It always seemed impossible for such a kind and righteous neighbor to stab Aiden and the Linden Family in the back.
Jane Summers patted her face mask and then her neck mask, revealing eyes that lost their usual charm and became fierce:
"I’m warning you, don’t ever contact Tiana Linden again."
"Or we will divorce."
Christopher Grant knew his wife liked to cause trouble over trivial issues.
Usually, he doted on her, but when it came to matters of principle, he had his own sense of right and wrong.
"Jane, I’m entirely innocent with Tiana, there’s absolutely nothing. Divorce over this is excessive. Even if you doubt Tiana because of the medication leak incident five years ago, you should trust your husband."
Christopher Grant was somewhat angry.
He realized he spoiled Jane Summers too much in their daily life.
Yet he didn’t want to be angry with his wife, gently persuading:
"Jane, think rationally, how did Tiana behave before?"
"How can you label her as a villain based solely on a medication leak incident?"
"You used to be so close with Tiana; if you knew you wronged her, you’d certainly regret it."
Jane Summers tore off the mask and threw it in the trash, becoming more enraged instead of rational.
"Christopher Grant, you’ve been enchanted by Tiana, haven’t you? Five years ago you spoke up for her, and now you’re doing it again. Constantly mentioning Tiana—are you having an affair, sleeping with her?"
Such unreasonable behavior from Jane Summers genuinely angered Christopher Grant.
His eyes turned red with frustration and pain he couldn’t express.
All the agony and grievances were swallowed by Christopher, ultimately letting out a heavy sigh:
"Jane Summers, we’ve been married six years, you know how I’ve treated you. Is this how little you trust me?"
"Tonight I’ll sleep in the study, think carefully yourself."
With that, he got up from the sofa, walked out of the bedroom without looking back.
Seeing Christopher Grant defending Tiana so much, Jane Summers furiously grabbed a pillow and threw it.
"Christopher Grant, you bastard! Tell me, how far have you gone with Tiana, did you sleep with her?"
Though the pillow hit Christopher lightly, his heart suffered immense pain.
He paused, before he could speak, Jane Summers walked around to block his path.
"Christopher Grant, clarify things for me, did you sleep with Tiana, that wretch? She even managed to seduce a man like Hector Chaucer who dislikes women, seducing you is certainly easy. Admit it, didn’t you sleep with her when I wasn’t in Veridia the other day?"
Married for six years, Christopher Grant cherished Jane Summers dearly, never raising his voice or arguing.
He believed unconditional love would lead to mutual trust, eternal happiness.
Not expecting the first marital dispute would collapse the trust between them so entirely.
He looked at Jane Summers in agony, "Jane Summers, if you can’t understand or trust what kind of person I am, our marriage is laughable."
Without waiting for a response, Jane Summers frantically grabbed Christopher’s pajamas, acting like a shrew, blocking him, "Christopher Grant, what do you mean? Are you planning to divorce me?"
Painful tears flowed from Jane Summers’ eyes, "Christopher Grant, are you divorcing me for that wretched Tiana?"
