The reproduction of life, the composition and nature of matter, the measurement of time and the direction of fate, the ebb and flow of consciousness—everything is perfect. But if only these powers I mentioned existed, the world would soon become lifeless due to expansion… There is another important power that plays an extremely crucial role in this world, representing demise and cycle.”

“The gods follow the iron law of ‘absolutely not relying on power to interfere with the world’s operation,’ because that would lead to severe consequences. No matter how much a god cares subjectively about something, they cannot use their power symbolizing their strength. All gods must abide by this iron law and let the world run according to the rules they initially set. He Ya is no exception. He is both the end and the beginning of all rules, the key to forming a Continuous Cycle within the world, hence called ‘The Ultimate of All Things.’

The Death Lord extracted a cigarette from his pocket and lit it. As a puff of smoke was inhaled and exhaled by him, his voice became somewhat hoarse,

“Death links all the powers of the gods together. Death offers an endpoint to life that only understands ignition, converting life and matter into one another, continuously exchanging consciousness with the deeper Spirit Realm and reality, making fate, which measures time, meaningful… This is the eternal rule set by He Ya, equal in force to those of other gods.”

Fisher thought for a moment and suddenly understood something, coughing slightly before speaking,

“Cough, cough… I think I understand your meaning, but according to what you said about ‘gods absolutely cannot rely on power to interfere with the operation of the world,’ and He Ya being an unconscious god, does this mean that unlike other gods who stand outside of the world’s operation, He continuously interferes with the world using his power?”

The Death Lord twitched the corners of his mouth and snapped his fingers,

“Yes, you are indeed very smart, Mr. Fisher. The difference between He Ya and other gods lies here. The reason he is so special must be attributed to the overly loving God of Hundred Forms… The demise rule set by He Ya is completely sufficient for less complex living creatures and matter, just like humans and similar beings. Even if he doesn’t personally interfere with power, we will still die after a hundred years.”

“But the God of Hundred Forms has bestowed excessive love on some of the creatures he created, the only result of which is that they can resonate with and even distort the world’s rules to a certain extent. For example, the Phoenix Species that can perceive future fate, and the Whale-man Species that can use blessings and curse abilities. These are not capabilities normal life forms should possess, they exceed the norm.”

They are powerful enough to distort and alter the rules set by the gods. Their lives and souls are intertwined, transformed into a ‘body and soul’ entity, possessing an indescribable might that can easily obliterate and permanently eliminate matter. Time and fate seem particularly sluggish in front of their keen souls and senses. Their bodies are so robust and healthy that they can defy the limits of lifespan and live for a very long time…”

“Although the God of Hundred Forms later timely awakened and set a lock called ‘Reproduction’ for all powerful beings except the three special existences, this was still not enough.”

“Thus, He Ya sealed his consciousness and descended, turning into the most terrifying entity in this world: death. He instinctively bestows an irresistible and inevitable conclusion upon all living beings. The Death Lord smiled slightly, gestured a stair-like shape with his hand, then continued,

“He strictly grants them ‘corresponding death’ according to the rank of living beings. Whereas it seems like an ordinary death to third parties like us, don’t confuse the two concepts. They are crucially related to what I’m about to say next. You’re smart, you should understand. After all, I’m a little tipsy, and my mind isn’t very clear, so I’d rather not have to explain again.”

“The so-called ‘corresponding death’ refers to avoiding waste of one’s own power and simultaneously preventing life from escaping death through its own strength.
