Firstly, Renie and Fisher had been separated for a long time. During his time in Nali, when he was severely injured and had enemies everywhere, forcing him to flee, it was Alagina who helped him. Even if Alagina might have had her own ulterior motives and small purposes, Fisher could not forget the kindness she showed him in his time of need.

He was telling Renie that he must provide an explanation to Alagina, which was the true reason he sent a messenger to her.

If Renie truly had no idea about Fisher’s situation, what Fisher said would have had no impact on her, instead failing to dispel her doubts about Fisher’s relationship with Alagina. But if Renie was aware of Fisher’s journey and understood his relationship with Alagina well, why did she always refuse to show up, refusing to meet Fisher, even at his most helpless moments? Emhardt, in her hand, trembled with fear upon hearing her words, prompting Renie to laugh. She patted the cover of Emhardt and reassured,

“Don’t worry, I’m really going to buy you a gift this time~”

Emhardt dared not disagree, only rolling its eyes briefly at Renie.

Looking at Renie’s outstretched hand, Fisher did not immediately hand over the money. Instead, he said,

“Renie, since I’m to be frank about my whereabouts with Alagina now, it would be better if you stayed to explain…”

Renie understood Fisher’s thoughts. Only heartless and greedy people come and go freely; he was the kind who, despite his greed, couldn’t bear to hurt anyone, always walking on thin ice. She decided not to complicate matters for him any further.

At this moment, she simply smiled and shook her head, deftly retrieved the money pouch from Fisher’s arms with a deft pluck in the air, and handed back Alagina’s messenger to him. Then, turning around, she walked slowly with Emhardt in another direction, her voice gradually fading,

“It’s fine, I wanted to take a good look around nearby anyway. You explain things to them; I’ll wait for you at the port. Just don’t keep me waiting too long.”

Watching Renie’s departing back, Fisher let out a slight sigh of relief. Renie’s advance was temporarily repelled, but the problem was not yet solved. Nonetheless, Renie’s retreat and their separation were critical steps in resolving the conflict.

If the primary focus of their reunion was Renie in the first stage, then after they parted ways, the focus of breaking through had to shift to Alagina, since Renie had long been aware of Alagina’s situation, while Alagina knew nothing about Renie yet.

He exhaled and turned to Alagina beside him. Before he could speak, Alagina seemed unable to wait any longer. She reached out and hugged Fisher tightly, as if to embed him within herself.

Fortunately, Fisher’s Life Rank was not low; he merely felt that Alagina’s body was both cold and soft, making it incredibly comfortable to be embraced by her.

“Fisher…”

Alagina released Fisher momentarily, not answering his question but instead immediately asking about what happened in the Northern Realm.
