Chapter 47: Demon Sealing

The man who had been standing guard by his side reacted instinctively when he heard the whiz of arrows. A pair of thin swords danced in his hands like flowers;

the moment the arrows arrived they were already cut into several pieces.

On the other side, a dark figure had already lunged out. The caravan members gathered nearby hadn’t even had time to react before they were shattered into fragments. Those fragments fell like stones and crashed toward Aro.

Covered in blood, Tangs—demonic aura all around him—joined the fight like a demon. Aro’s attack was interrupted by the sudden shower of corpse pieces, giving the village guard a chance to catch his breath.

Despite taking several heavy blows to his crotch, he did not collapse as the halfling had expected. Instead, after steadying himself he stopped panicking, gathered every ounce of strength, and stopped using large leg movements. He lowered his body and rammed toward a nearby tree.

The halfling clambering up his leg immediately shifted position and crawled onto the village guard’s back. The village guard ignored them both and simply knocked the tree down, then charged into the fallen canopy. Branches and leaves transformed under his momentum into whip-like lashes or comb-like strikes. The dense flailing disrupted the halfling’s movements, forcing him to cling desperately to the guard’s clothes.

This development pulled Aro’s attention slightly away. He looked over to confirm Op hadn’t been compromised by Tangs’s assault, then charged at the village guard again. No matter what, he had to take down the village guard first—that was Op’s order for him.

Meanwhile, Tangs, who had rushed into the fray, was immediately shot at;

many arrows struck his body. But they were all useless.

“You two seem to be enjoying the shooting a little too much?” After taking several arrows, Tangs had already closed in on Op’s other two combat-capable subordinates. “Now it’s my turn to have some fun!” Tangs curled his lips and licked the blood on his face into his mouth.

Since the demon in his body had been sealed and Naimes taught him the Breath of Holy Commandment and Dual Commandment Synchronization, he occasionally performed dual synchronization with Kullog. Under that cooperation, some of his habits had been influenced by Kullog. He no longer panicked at slaughter and gore. Instead, his own desires were awakened—he loved the feeling of controlling other people’s lives. From a simple shepherd, he reveled in the terrified gazes of those who had once scorned him;

the sensation captivated him. And all of this came from Lord Naimes’s blessing! Read full story at novelfire(.)net

In the next instant, Tangs catapulted forward, one hand clamping at a man’s throat. From his palm a sharp, stinging force jutted out, making the man who had planned to dodge feel sudden, searing pain.

Commandment—Demon Sealing: Seal the demon within;

by vowing never to speak of the demon, one can transform the demon’s power into breathing technique power and dance with the demon. This was the result of Tangs practicing the Breath of Holy Commandment. As for the Breath of Holy Commandment’s other touted abilities—sensing heaven and earth, aligning with cosmic laws, predicting the future, or receiving revelations—Tangs had gained none of that. He only obtained the basic power of the Breath of Holy Commandment: by using his body’s condition and outside guidance, he could acquire his own innate commandment. The stinging sensation his palm released outward, however, belonged to Kullog’s power.

As a sealed entity, Kullog existed internally and could only use the Breath of Holy Commandment through dual synchronization. In this mode, he could not obtain an innate commandment, but to some extent he entered the “laws of heaven and earth.” His world was now the Tangs who sealed him. Kullog’s power had become Tangs’s power, and he had, in turn, empathically connected to parts of Tangs’s “laws”—Tangs’s pain sensations. Kullog could then project those sensations outward following Tangs’s movements. Tangs agreed to help Kullog access the sensations he enjoyed as a condition for Kullog’s promise to assist him in battle. The stabbing pain sensations were exactly the tactile impressions from the arrows that had struck Tangs earlier.

Unexpectedly, Tangs didn’t flinch—he let the blade strike. The sharp dagger seemed to hit rock, refusing to penetrate. Although the small demon was nominally Black Stone grade, that was merely a numbers issue;

its immortal properties were not something ordinary Black Stone grade beings could overcome. That was why—even in villages with few people—building and maintaining a church was costly, but there would at least be one priest and one holy knight stationed there. Without a holy knight and a priest, even a small demon could slaughter a whole village and quickly grow into a disaster.

Although not wounded, Tangs still felt the unpleasant foreign-object interference in his eye. “That hurts!” Tangs complained, then quickly snapped the man’s neck. Two archers with six numerical value each would not be much resistance against him…

But the next moment Tangs’s action froze. He turned to look at the corpse whose throat had been broken and who should have died. Something on the body was writhing rapidly;

black hairs were sprouting from the broken throat. The hairs extended quickly and repaired the ruined windpipe, clearing the blocked airway and allowing breathing to resume. The man stood up;

his throat had gone black, and under his skin black lines crisscrossed densely.

“This is itchier than I thought.” His hateful gaze fell on Tangs. Nest Beasts are parasitic, dangerous organisms that modify their hosts during the parasitism process. Op’s Nest Beasts were controllable to some extent, so he had given his subordinates an insurance policy. He had cultivated some embryonic Nest Beast hairs and kept them dormant before their true activation. These embryos, being newly developed and inactive, didn’t require Op’s expensive drugs to stay docile. Only when the host encountered mortal danger would the Nest Beast embryos sense the threat and activate, then symbiotically heal and save the host.
