Chapter 829: Chapter 633: Exploration
“I am a god, not you ants.”
The Fake Owner, Swallower, responded in a deep voice.
“Never mind, I didn’t say anything.”
Su Mo continued browsing the Star Ring Forum…
A few days later, Su Mo and the others gathered in the command room of a medium-sized transportation ship.
Sean and the others began to report the situation to Su Mo.
“This is the situation we’ve surveyed.”
Xiao Wen tapped his bracelet, and a holographic terrain map appeared, showing a dozen green dots, over three hundred red dots, and five black dots.
Su Mo watched the holographic terrain map, quietly listening to Xiao Wen’s explanation.
Xiao Wen continued the introduction in an orderly manner: “These green dots are areas where we’ve detected ore surface reactions, but the concentrations are very low, and they’re not good ores, not very valuable. All these red dots are entrances to insect nests, it feels like you picked a location right above an insect nest. As for these black dots, they’re volcanic craters, and according to our monitoring equipment scans, the inside of these volcanoes is very active.”
Sun Duoxiang said helplessly, “Boss, what do we do now? We haven’t found anything, and this area isn’t very safe.”
“Why the rush? I knew this was an insect nest from the start; we’re looking for insect nests.”
Su Mo replied calmly, although he was silently wondering if his luck had truly run out.
“Ah, boss, do we really have to go down there?”
Sun Duoxiang’s expression was quite dramatic.
“Of course, no guts, no glory. Xiao Wen, did you find a larger insect nest entrance?”
Su Mo asked directly.
“Yes, this red dot’s insect nest entrance is super large and very hidden; we almost missed it. The width of the opening alone is 300 meters, and it’s very deep. We used detectors to investigate but didn’t reach the bottom. To avoid provoking any monsters inside, we didn’t dare explore too deeply.”
Xiao Wen pointed towards the center area with his finger.
“Right here, prepare your gear, and we’ll head out tomorrow morning.”
Without further ado, Su Mo pointed towards the largest insect nest entrance.
“No problem.”
Xiao Wen replied without a hint of hesitation.
Sun Duoxiang swallowed nervously, smiled awkwardly, and asked, “Boss, do I have to go too? I could watch over the above for you?”
“We’re all going together.”
Su Mo retorted without good humor.
“Uh, okay.”
Sun Duoxiang looked like he was about to cry; they were heading into an insect nest for real.
“What’s that expression? Show some spirit. With me around, nothing will happen.”
Su Mo patted Sun Duoxiang’s shoulder and reassured him.
“Alright, alright.”
Sun Duoxiang hastily agreed.
At this moment, suddenly an operator in the command room stood up and saluted Su Mo.
“Commander Su Mo, there’s a communication request for you.”
“Who is it?”
Su Mo asked, looking puzzled.
“It’s from Wang Hai.”
The operator replied.
Immediately, Sun Duoxiang and the others looked at Su Mo in confusion, wondering why Wang Hai would contact him at this time.
“Connect it.”
Su Mo was also a bit puzzled.
“Yes!”
The operator responded.
Then, Wang Hai’s holographic image appeared, standing on a barren plain in his third-generation Mechanical Armor.
Behind him, large multi-functional mining machines were operating.
A pile of Level 3 molybdenum ore was stacked nearby.
“Wow!”
Sun Duoxiang was staring in astonishment, almost drooling over the open pit mine, especially with such advanced Level 3 ores.
“Wang Hai, what do you need from me?”
Su Mo asked, puzzled.
Wang Hai gratefully said, “Thank you so much for letting me have such an excellent mining site. The ore reserve here exceeds my expectations; I’m really grateful. To show my gratitude, I’d like to offer you 20 percent of the profits.”
Sun Duoxiang and Xiao Wen were both a bit stunned at Wang Hai’s words.
Did Su Mo let Wang Hai have such a good mining site?
“No need, it’s what you deserve, and after all, we’re comrades.”
Su Mo coughed and replied.
“But I insist!”
Wang Hai remained persistent.
“Really, it’s not necessary. If you truly want to thank someone, thank Li Ruiqi. He instructed me to look after our own people.”
Su Mo shook his head. Indeed, it was Li Ruiqi who suggested it, and taking Wang Hai’s offer wouldn’t be appropriate.
“Alright then.”
Wang Hai didn’t insist any further.
“Enjoy your mining. I’ve got things to handle here, so I’ll hang up now.”
“Alright!”
With that, Su Mo ended the communication.
Right after ending the call, Su Mo saw Sun Duoxiang’s resentful expression, looking like he’d been wronged, and it startled him.
“What’s that look for?”
“Boss, why did you let someone else have such a good site?”
Sun Duoxiang asked resentfully.
“Isn’t there a better site? Are you doubting my judgment?”
Su Mo asked, amused.
“So far, the site you picked doesn’t seem great.”
Sun Duoxiang murmured softly.
“What do you know, this place is a Nest.”
Su Mo snapped back.
“Oh my god, a Nest. Boss, were you hit on the head or something? How can you choose a place like this!”
Sun Duoxiang exclaimed, utterly shocked upon hearing it was a Nest.
Su Mo was amused by Sun Duoxiang’s reaction. “Alright, we’ll see if it’s a mule or a horse tomorrow.”
He couldn’t believe the Red Cicada Queen’s nest could be so terrible.
————————–
The next day, Su Mo was ready and prepped, piloting the third-generation Mecha, Slaughter Blade.
Xiao Wen, Sun Duoxiang, and others showed up in Black Steel as well.
“We’re all set.”
Su Mo looked at the team, which consisted of fifty elite members, many of whom were Iron Guards with mining toolboxes strapped to their backs. Without wasting words, he simply said,
“Let’s go!”
At that moment, Mo Baoke came trotting over in his Black Steel Mecha.
“Commander Su Mo, wait for me!”
“Mo Baoke, what are you doing here? I told you to stay on guard duty.”
Su Mo said, utterly baffled.
“Commander Su Mo, I heard you’re personally going to explore the mines. Could you take me along? There’s nothing much to do here anyway.”
Mo Baoke begged to tag along with a pleading face.
“Are you sure?”
Su Mo questioned with suspicion.
“Of course I’m sure.”
Mo Baoke replied confidently.
“Ha ha, we’re heading into a Nest; if you’re up for it, come join us.”
Sun Duoxiang couldn’t hold back his laughter.
Startled by Sun Duoxiang’s words, Mo Baoke asked, shocked, “Really?”
“Yes, we’re heading into an insect nest. If you want to join, come along, everyone follow me!”
Without further explanation, Su Mo led the way, driving the Slaughter Blade forward.
Inside the Black Steel Mecha, Mo Baoke realized and slapped his forehead.
“I really shot myself in the foot. What trouble did I get myself into?”
Mo Baoke felt his face burning, then controlled his mecha to catch up, gritting his teeth as he shouted, “Commander Su Mo, wait for me, I’m coming too.”
Su Mo turned and shouted to Mo Baoke.
“Keep up the pace!”
As he traveled along the path, Su Mo gazed at the undulating red-red terrain, feeling a sense of inexplicable achievement.
Everything his eyes beheld now belonged to him.
According to Li Ruiqi, this demarcated piece of land would always legally belong to him, even in the distant future. Once back in the Federation, he would receive an official land deed, which he could use for transactions.
Providing, of course, that the Federation retains control over this planet.
If not, then you’d have to tell the ghosts, “This is mine.”
