CHAPTER 78: BREAKTHROUGH.

P.O.V - David.

Dang So pulled me and we ran out the room, across the hallway and into the other room.

We were about jumping out the window when a massive wave of energy comes destroying everything and blasting us out of the building.

We land roughly, tumbling on the ground.

"Fuck!" I groan in pain as I tried to stand up.

I help Dang So up and we both look at the destroyed building.

The only part that was still barely recognizable was the floor of the ground floor.

Every other thing had been destroyed and blown away.

A two story building vanished just like that.

As the dust settles we see a figure floating in the air.

Slowly the figure descends to the ground.

It was the Patriach.

He steps out of the dust and we could now see him properly.

He was filled with power.

Oozing out of his body were large amounts of energy.

"Congratulations on your breakthrough Patriarch." The voice of the Second Elder says from our side.

We turn and see him offering a standing bow to the Patriach.

We turn back to the Patriarch and do the same.

"Congratulations on your Breakthrough Patriarch." I and Dang So both say.

"Thank you." The Patriach replies and we raise our heads.

"Hmmmm, it’s a shame those guards are not hear to this." He says as he looks at his hands.

I guess he’s still hurt by that.

"We will be heading for the Second Young Masters place tomorrow." The Patriarch says to us.

"We will first talk to him, and if he refuses peace then we give him war." He says as he clenches his fist.

"But for now, we rest." He adds.

The three of us stand there looking at him.

"Ummm, about that, you blew up where we are supposed to ’Rest’ " Dang So says pointing towards where the inn used to be.

"Ohhhh.... right.... " The Patriach says as he scratches the back of his head.

"I guess we are sleeping outside today." Dang So says as she walks towards the carriage.

The carriage was parked in a lot for horses and carts some distance from the inn so luckily it wasn’t blown off, though there were some debri on it and the coach man looked haggered.

I follow her and we both bring out some tent materials.

With the help of both the Patriarch and Second Elder we set up the tents and a fire.

We ate and then slept.

We wake up the next morning to the noise of people around.

Coming out of my tent I could see people around where the inn used to be.

As I come out I see the Patriarch going towards them.

I guess he’s going to sort things out.

The Second Elder follows him while I and Dang So pack up our things and head to the carriage.

We wait for a while for the Patriarch to finish up and after about fifteen minutes he does and comes over to the cart with the Second Elder.

He enters the Cart and I was going to ride a horse but then;

"Come in Namgoong Yeong, you can stay with us." The Patriarch says offering that I sit in the cart.

In this kind of situations it would be rude if I rejected him so I accepted and get into the cart.

The coachman gets the horse moving and our journey began.

To another branch of the Golden Manor Merchant group, the Haisan branch, where the Second Young Master was in charge of.

The journey took about a day.

Along the way we encountered bandits but with the strength of a Martial Master of the Dang Clan there was no trouble at all.

We camped outside for the night and resumed our journey in the morning.

After about twenty-seven hours since takeoff we arrived at Haisan.

Entering the town we began searching for an inn first.

After finding one we lodged in, found a place to eat and then straight to business.

The Second Elder asks around for where the branch was located and not long after he comes back with information.

We took off and after about eight minutes of walking we arrived at the branch.

Of course there were guards at the gate but they were unusually more than normal.

We move towards the gate and of course we are stopped by the guards.

"State your busin..." One of the guards was speaking when he notices the clan sign on the waist of the Patriarch.

"The Dang Clan!" He yells and points his spears at us.

The other guards point their spears and swords at us and an alarm was sounded.

Alot of guards come pouring out the gate and surround us.

The gate remained open and they led us into the compound.

Hmmmm, I guess news about the death of the First Young Master has reached here already.

This is alot of guards, a lot, probably about thirty guards.

"So, to what pleasure do I owe this visit Patriach of the Dang Clan?" The voice of a male figure is heard from behind some guards.

Coming out we see a male figure with blond hair.

He looked about his early twenties.

Unlike what I expected, he wasn’t fat or chubby, he was well fit and quite tall.

"Is he really the Second Young Master?" I say out loud.

"Yhhh, I’m also confused." Dang So responds.

"Good Day young master." The Patriarch greets him.

"I will go straight to the point, you must have heard about the deaths of your brothers, all we have come here to do is to make peace." The Patriach says.

The Young Master bursts out laughing.

"You kill my two siblings and then come to me offering peace?

Have you begun to go senile?" The Young Master questions.

"Does that mean you reject our offer Hwang Jin?" The Patriarch asks with a low deep voice.

Hwang Jin didn’t know what to say.

He was quite stunned at that question.

It sounded like a threat.

I guess it is a threat since the Patriach is ready to attack at any point.

Though we are surrounded by a lot of guards, there are only two Martial Masters, three Late Peaks, five Early Peaks and the rest were First Rates.

Before we begin to fight with the Martial Masters, the Patriach could easily wipe out every other person here.

So their numbers right now pose no threat at all.

Though something is bothering me.

I’ve been sensing two Presence at the top floor of the Pagoda since we entered the compound.

The Young Master begins to step back.

The Patriarch slowly places his hand in his sleeves.

I pulled out my daggers and this time Dang So pulls out a sword.

Hmmm, I did notice her movements with the dagger was really natural, it was like she was trying to immitate someone elses moves.

Is the sword her natural weapon?

A core member of the Dang Clan using a sword, that’s funny.

The Second Elder pulls out his claw gloves and wears them.

The tension rose to an all time high and as it seemed like anyone could attack at anytime a loud voice is heard from the top floor saying;

"Stop!!"

Everyone halts at the sound of the voice and after about one minute two people exit the door of the ground floor and approached us.

An elderly male figure in front and closely behind him was a female clad in all navy blue.

"A Martial Grandmaster." I say to myself.

Now things are looking really tough.

The male figure had a blonde hair, he wore a large exquisite robe which hid his physique but he was tall.

He approaches us and the expression on the Patriarch’s face changes from seriousness to surprise.

"Good day Master of the Golden Manor Merchant." He greets.

"Woah! the Manor Master?" I think to myself.

We all follow along and greet the Manor Master.

The Manor Master walks up to the Patriarch and with a smile he grabs the shoulders of the Patriach.

"Its so good to see you Patriach.

It’s been a long time hasn’t it?" The Manor Master says to the Patriach.

I and Dang So were shocked hearing this.

"Wh...what?

Father! those people killed our people, they killed two of your children." Hwang Jin yells out loud.

The Manor Master who was smiling from teeth slowly turns to Hwang Jin and with a very serious tone and face he says;

"Well, do you want to be next?"

It sounded like a threat as Hwang Jin immediately shuts up.

"Now, Patriarch, would you mind explaining to me why you have been killing my children?" He asks turning back to face the Patriarch.

"it’s not that way Manor Master, drastic situations call for drastic measures doesn’t it?" The Patriarch says to the Manor Master with his face back to being serious.

Damn, I thought he’d bend a little but he’s standing his ground.

"Hmmm, I would like to hear about this drastic situations then, if you don’t mind, eh Patriarch of the Dang Clan?" The Manor Master says as he stretches for his left hand towards the Pagoda offering that we all go in.
