CHAPTER 44: SUBMISSION OF THE ANCIENT FLAME DEVIL, HORROR OF MATT

"You never learn,"

Matt looked at the unstable golden-black sun heading for him, pulsating with raw energy that could wipe out cities instantly.

Matt could sense how strong the attack was, but it doesn’t mean he was afraid of it.

The attack looked slow according to Matt, but in a second, it was upon Matt, wanting to scorch him to ashes.

It swallowed Matt whole, his fate unknown as the Ancient Flame Devil took a deep breath; the attack had taken a toll on it as it poured all of its devilish energy into the attack.

A deep explosion occurred; the wall itself got scorched by the flames, showing that the lethality wasn’t to be underestimated.

And also this couldn’t breach through the wall as it had a self-healing function.

The Ancient Flame Devil shook its head; in its mind, Matt’s arrogance was too much because it dared not take such an attack with its entire body without getting seriously injured.

The flames cleared, the ground was scorched, causing a pit, but in the center of it all was a devil still standing unharmed.

The Ancient Flame Devil almost had its eyes popped out. Not a single scratch was on Matt; this dealt a great blow to it. Its strongest attack couldn’t even pierce through the skin of Matt.

It looked closely at Matt, wondering how he was able to defend such an attack.

It was then the truth was revealed,

Matt’s body was covered with blade-like energy; it seemed independent from Devilish Energy and Originat, a unique form of energy on its own.

The Ancient Flame Devil’s eyes widened when it saw this. "Impossible!" it roared in disbelief,

"How... Can...you.... comprehend...this...realm?" It roared out, stammering, taking a few steps back.

Apart from the Cultivation Realm, there’s a realm called the Will Realm, which determines some breakthrough to some Cultivation Realm.

The Will Realm is divided into the Intent Realm, Domain Realm, and Law Realm.

For a devil to reach the realm of Devil King and for humans to reach the realm of Requiem Grandmaster, the Intent Realm must be comprehended.

All things possess life, a mechanism by which they move, and a path by which they abide. To comprehend existence is to seek the reason behind these—the foundation upon which all things were formed.

The Intent Realm is subdivided into Lesser Intent, True Intent, Manifested Intent, and Perfect Intent.

Lesser Intent (awareness of will), where one began to sense their Requiem’s emotions and purpose.

True Intent (Understanding essence), grasping what their Requiem represents.

Manifested Intent (Tangible will), Requiem’s intent manifests physically—its aura, sound, or killing intent becomes visible.

Perfect Intent (Unity of Mind and Requiem), The cultivator and Requiem act as one thought.

The Domain Realm is subdivided into the Nascent Domain, True Domain, and Supreme Domain.

Nascent Domain (Aura projection), where one unconsciously affects their surroundings with their intent; the air may distort, the temperature may change, or shadows may twist.

True Domain (World projection), Their requiem’s nature fills the area where flame burns without fuel, swords rain from the sky, or silence devours sound.

Supreme Domain (Absolute sovereignty), Within the domain, one is like a god. All rules bend to their Requiem’s nature—fire that doesn’t burn its master, death that cannot touch its wielder, blades that cut laws themselves.

The Law Realm is subdivided into Minor Law, Major Law, and Supreme Law.

Minor Law (Fragment mastery), Understanding one aspect of a law (e.g., heat within fire, edge within blade). One’s attacks contain conceptual weight.

Major Law (Unity of Fragments), having full command over an elemental or metaphysical concept. Flame no longer burns—it purifies, transforms, and consumes.

Supreme Law (Embodiment of principle), The cultivator is the law; one is the law.

Requiems are indestructible, tied to the owner’s life; they are life and death partners. The will realm helps facilitate the closeness between a Requiem and its user,

There is a percentage range of the Subdivision of Intent Realm, from 0% to 100%.

100% comprehension of Lesser Intent evolves into True Intent, and 100% comprehension of True Intent evolves into Manifested Intent.

This is how the cycle goes on until the Supreme Law Realm is achieved.

Although comprehending a complete Lesser Intent can make you comprehend a Domain Realm, one can only comprehend Nascent Domain and Minor Law; all others are unreachable.

Only by comprehending and evolving all the Will Realm to their peak, that is, comprehending the Perfect Intent and Supreme Domain, would you be able to comprehend the Supreme Law.

Looking at Matt, it felt like it wasn’t looking at a devil but a blade that wanted to pierce and cut its entire body into pieces. His eyes, blood, hair, and nails were the blade itself.

An immense pressure descended on it, freezing it in place. It could feel on every part of its body a blade rested.

If it dared to breathe, it felt its life would be ended.

What it had comprehended was Major Flame Law, which it used in its attack, and Matt also used Major Blade Law.

The show didn’t stop at this; the blade disappeared from Matt’s body, and he was back to being an Ancient Devil.

Matt began to emit a death aura; the Ancient Flame Devil had to take a few steps back in order not to be caught in it.

Compared to the blade aura, the death aura was twice as strong. Even among laws, there are ranks and strengths between laws comprehended.

Matt was like death itself, cleaver of life, collector of soul and breath, the withering of everything.

"Impossible..., how can you comprehend two of them?" The Ancient Flame Devil cried out indignantly.

Matt looked at the dead eyes of the Ancient Flame Devil; he has become its horror.

The Ancient Flame Devil shook its head bitterly, now thinking of Matt’s words of who he is; he realized that it might be true, and this caused his entire body to shake.

"I give up," it said. Matt’s expression didn’t change, as he expected this.

He turned back to his human form. He wasn’t planning on making it submit but killing it and absorbing the Bloodline, but the Supreme Dragon Devil said that he would need its strength when he returned to the surface world.

"But I can’t leave here, and you can’t go to the next level until you kill me," the Ancient Flame Devil sighed.

"Don’t worry, since I said I will keep your life if you submit, I will; I don’t break promises," Matt said.

The Ancient Flame Devil was surprised that Matt still wanted to save it. It had thought that Matt had just used that bet to entice it into battling him.

"Let your guard down, open your body to me, and let me take it from here," Matt said.

The Ancient Flame Devil frowned at these words; if it did that, it would be at Matt’s mercy.

It sighed, Wasn’t it submitting to Matt? There’s no difference in both.

It did as Matt said, leaving its whole body defenseless before Matt.

"It’s up to you," Matt turned to the Supreme Devil.
