CHAPTER 52: CHANGES ON EARTH

Early Morning Training: push-ups, squats, etc.

Afternoon Training: How to Use Requiem Guns.

Evening Training: Cultivation.

This had been the routine of the students for the past three months. Even as much as they hated the training, now it had become part and parcel of them.

Numerous changes had happened to them, their bodies getting well-toned, Originat being easier to absorb than before, and their bodily strength increasing.

Of course, it wasn’t the same set of training they began with; they continued, and every three to five days, the difficulty of the training increased, making it more arduous.

Well, as Eira’s talent was high, all eyes were on her since the beginning of the training, and she didn’t fail at any training, doing it perfectly.

This stimulated almost all the students, which sped up their progress.

Now they are standing before the military training grounds. Three months have passed, and they are now exhibiting the aura of a soldier.

They all lined up orderly, raising their hands to salute their instructor before them.

"Good morning, Elite Devil Hunter Nathan." Their movements and salute were in sync as they greeted their instructor with respect.

Instructor Nathan nodded at them, also saluting, after which they all dropped their hands.

"It’s been three months since you started the training program," he said, and all the students nodded.

"Now we are done with everything you need to learn. I announce the closure of the training programs."The students clapped in joy, thinking of when they started the training; it felt like yesterday to them.

They have undergone many physical changes, and their cultivation has also broken through; each person has at least broken through two levels.

"But you aren’t done. Now tomorrow, you will be given a mission. If you can complete the mission, you will officially become a soldier." The words of the instructors resounded in every one of their ears; they were clouded with excitement.

Eira’s expression was still the same throughout the training program, her eyes cold and emotionless; she looked like an ice figurine.

The students were used to her attitude, and as for the instructor and the soldiers who talked to her, they later got used to it.

In a bloody forest, the ground was stained with blood; broken skeletons could be seen everywhere. It gave off a chilly and eerie vibe.

A group of students entered here; most of their expressions were pale. As for the length of the forest, it was endless.

Every moment, shrieks would be heard; it was like a haunted forest.

This was the location of the mission that they were given , splitting into different groups and suddenly transported into this forest.

And what their mission is: recovering an important item of humanity and rescuing humans.

According to the information about the mission, some groups of humans were tasked to bring out an significant item but were ambushed by the devils. The last signal gotten from them was in the large forest known as the devil’s den.

When the students heard this, they were shocked; most disagreed. How would they enter the devil’s den? With their strength, they were just like a toddler before a giant.

They explained that the item was at the periphery of the forest, which means the devils hadn’t recognized how indispensable the item was.

If the strongest beings of humanity moved, they would realize how essential the item was, which would cause adverse effects that could cause great damage to humanity.

So they were sent under the pretense of training, but their main mission is to retrieve the items.

The time limit is a month, or else the devils would notice something had happened, and humanity would have no option to release their strongest beings, even though there are risks.

And it was a compulsory mission; before the students knew it, they were already in this forest.

Trees without leaves, just branches, giving a bloody aura, were what surrounded them.

Everyone was transported to a different location, each to their own.

Eira found herself in a slightly open space; beside her was a small, bloody river. She was one of the few students who were transported into the arms of a devil.

She looked at the devil before her; it was a worm devil spawn, which was effortless for her.

She waved her hands, activating her talent while using her Originat. The next moment, the worm devil was frozen into a block of ice.

She walked towards the cube of ice, knocking on it; the ice cube burst into ice dust. With just a move, the devil spawn was killed.

Even though it was possible, only those who had reached Requiem Master could do that easily, able to stop the quick regeneration of the worm devil.

That means Eira’s strength had reached so. Because even the teachers were clueless about her cultivation and strength, she kept all this to herself.

Eira’s expression didn’t change; it was as if she just killed an ant. She looked around; the eerie aura and the bloody river also didn’t cause any changes to her expression.

She raised her right hand up, curving it in front; the watch on her right hand was before her mouth.

"Give me the map of the forest and where the last location of the item was marked ," her cold voice rang out.

"Yes, Master." An emotionless robotic voice came out from the watch.

A virtual screen appeared in front of Eira, showing the map of the bloody forest. Even though the devils were almost killed and cornered, the land they occupy in the Southern Continent was close to thirty percent.

On the map, a red dot was blinking. She checked it and saw the distance was a bit far from her; she closed the map, walking in the silent forest.

The students who also landed before a devil killed theirs, even though it took much longer than Eira. But all the devils they encountered was the Worm Devil.

No one has died yet, but the students remembered the last words of Instructor Nathan: "You guys aren’t the only ones going for the mission; the other two academies also have the same mission. It’s a general mission for the three academies; you should all be careful out there."

Now the advice given by Instructor Nathan was that they shouldn’t move alone but move in groups of two or three because of other academies and also Devils.

All students intended to move together except for Eira; if Matt was around, she would have joined hands with him or the group he is in.

But since he isn’t, she’s moving alone, a lone wolf.

In the deepest part of the forest was an open space, a large city of immeasurable width and length; it’s beyond human calculation.

One eerie thing about the city was that the walls that surrounded it were bloody, so bloody that it felt as if blood was dripping from the walls of the city.

The gate of the city was built with bones; two gigantic skulls were each at the left side and the right side of the gate. Looking at the gate, one would hear shrieks and cries of pain; the two gigantic skulls looked as if they were alive.

Everything about the city walls and gate wasn’t human; it wasn’t looking like a city but a sleeping, ferocious, and evil beast.

Entering the city, the size was bigger than what it looked like from outside; buildings that looked human-like were everywhere.

It would have been a beautiful scene, but in the city were devils.

All devils could be seen here, but surprisingly they were all humanoid; even though most parts were devil-like, some were partial human/devil.

In some places, there were shops, but what was displayed was terrifying.

Human head, human flesh, human tongue, human intestine.....

"Three catties of ordinary human flesh for 200 low-grade blood coins,"

"Ten wraps of ordinary human intestine for 150 low-grade blood coins,"

"Freshly cut human tongue for 100 low-grade blood coins,"

Blood Coin is the currency used among the devils to trade things. As for what they trade, it’s mostly human parts, the best delicacy to them.

As for how Blood Coins were formed, they are created from crystallized human blood, but there are different grades amongst blood coins due to the different energy and taste of human blood.

Low Grade, Common Grade, Mid Grade, High Grade, Elite Grade, and Noble Grade. These are the grades of the blood coins.

In another place in the city, there was a large space where a signboard with the bloody words "Animals Warehouse"

But if you look inside, what’s there isn’t animals but humans. Humans are reared here as animals.

If humans city could be described as heaven, this place could be described as hell.

This was the largest city but not the only city that was in the forest.

In the deepest part of the city, everywhere was dark, but a voice broke the silence.

"The Humans’ Talent has descended; it seems the information we received was right."

"Hmm, let’s continue with the plan. Don’t alert the humans, strong men; just send a few strong devils. By the time the humans realize, we will have exterminated all of them."

A dark laugh echoed in the darkness, full of excitement, darkness, ferocity, eeriness, and negative emotions.
