CHAPTER 438: THE END

Sebastian’s black car rolled slowly through the open gates. His eyes widened as the mansion came into full view—a grand, elegant estate with soft golden lights glowing from the windows. It wasn’t just big. It was breathtaking. The kind of place where silence felt rich and every corner whispered luxury.

He parked near the entrance and stepped out, smoothing his suit jacket as he took a steadying breath. Then he rang the bell.

The door opened almost instantly.

And there she stood.

Lilith.

She wore a deep blue dress that hugged her frame like the night sky wrapping around a goddess. Her dark hair fell over her shoulders in soft waves, and her eyes—those maddeningly mysterious eyes, sparkled with amusement.

"Come in, sir," she said with a soft chuckle.

Sebastian’s breath caught. That laugh. It was light, teasing, and completely disarming.

She’s not just beautiful, he thought, she’s divine.

As he stepped into the mansion, the air inside smelled like something warm and spiced, and the lights were soft, casting golden glows on the marble floors.

"WELCOME HOME! DO YOU WANT WATER OR NO WATER? I CAN MAKE COFFEE TOO!" a loud voice boomed from the side.

Sebastian flinched, startled.

He turned to see a small robot rolling toward him on two wheels, blinking red lights from its square head and dramatically waving a mechanical arm. Another robot followed behind it, spinning on her wheels with delicate blinking pink eyes and a soft voice that said, "I can make coffee for yaaa~"

Lilith laughed again, clearly entertained by his expression.

"Are those... yours?" Sebastian asked, eyebrows raised, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

"They’re our household companions," she said. "My husband built them."

Sebastian’s smile faltered.

Of course. Her husband. The perfect one. The one who built her robots, lived in a mansion with her, had her laugh to himself every day.

"Where is your husband?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

Lilith tilted her head, still smiling. "You’ll meet him soon. Come, I’ve prepared dinner."

"You cook?" He couldn’t hide the surprise in his voice.

She grinned, clearly amused. "Of course I do. Don’t tell me you imagined I only knew how to order takeout?"

He followed her through the beautifully decorated hallway. Everything in the house felt like it had her touch—tasteful, elegant, warm.

And yet, something gnawed at him.

Why hadn’t her husband shown up? Was he really going to miss dinner with a guest?

Sebastian tried to remind himself this wasn’t a date. He was here to meet the man she loved. The man who had her heart. He should be preparing himself.

But instead... he was enjoying this moment far too much.

A quiet dinner. Soft lights. Her laughter. Her presence.

He sat at the long dining table, admiring the dishes she laid out—homemade, fragrant, warm.

"You really made all of this?" he asked, surprised again.

"Is it that shocking?" she laughed as she poured him wine.

"Honestly, yes," he said, resting his elbow on the table and watching her move across the kitchen with ease. "You keep surprising me, Miss Parker."

She met his gaze, and for a moment, the air felt heavier.

"I have that effect on people," she said softly.

And in that moment... Sebastian Carter forgot why he came.

All he could think about was how much he wanted to stay.

Even if it was wrong. Even if it hurt.

He just wanted her.

After dinner, Sebastian found himself unable to look away from her. Every small movement—her hands adjusting the dishes, the way her hair caught the soft lights of the chandelier, even the gentle rhythm of her steps—enchanted him completely. Like a man under a spell, he followed when she said, "Let’s go to the living room."

He obeyed silently.

Once they reached the warm, tastefully decorated space, he sat on the plush couch, still watching her.

"So," he finally asked, trying to sound casual though his voice was lower, heavier, "where is he? Is he working?"

Lilith turned to look at him. Her lips curved, soft and mysterious. "No," she said gently, "he’s home. I’ll take you to meet him."

He stood up before she could finish her sentence, like an obedient follower to a queen.

And truly, she felt like one...calm, composed, graceful.

She walked ahead of him down the hallway. The air in the house was warmer here, almost sacred. The bedroom door opened, and she stepped aside for him to enter. Sebastian followed her in.

The room was beautiful.

The moonlight poured in through wide windows, wrapping the room in pale light. Curtains swayed gently in the breeze, whispering against the walls.

The golden lighting on the ceiling cast a gentle glow on the floors. A large mirror on the far side reflected everything.

He looked around, confused. "Where is he?" he asked again, his voice more restless this time.

Why was he feeling... nervous?

He didn’t know what kind of man he was expecting. Maybe someone perfect. Maybe someone worthy of her.

Maybe someone to convince his heart to give up on her.

"Walk five steps forward," Lilith said.

Sebastian turned to her, confused.

But she was smiling—peaceful, tender. So he obeyed.

One, two, three, four, five...

"Turn left."

Again, he did.

And then softly, almost like a breath, she said, "Now look to your left."

Sebastian turned slowly, his brows furrowed and then he froze.

There, in the mirror, under the golden lights, he saw himself.

His own reflection.

The same man Lilith called her husband.

"Sebastian Alexander Carter," she said behind him, her voice trembling with something between love and tears, "my dear husband."

His breath caught.

And right at that moment, his phone vibrated in his pocket. Still staring at himself in the mirror, still frozen, he pulled it out and looked at the screen.

New Mail: Subject – FOR FUTURE SEBASTIAN (Important)

With shaking hands, he tapped the notification.

The message opened.

[ To Future Sebastian,

Hey, it’s Gray. I’m the part of you that makes decisions, thinks through the mess, and tries to protect you from yourself. If you’re reading this, then maybe you forgot. Maybe not. But here’s what I want you to know—

Lilith is our wife. She is the air we breathe. The one person who saw through every broken part of us and still loved us. Don’t forget what she gave us. Don’t forget who she is.

She accepted all of me. Even the parts that were chaos.

— Gray

Hi, I’m Ray!

I’m... the fun part. I don’t know how to write letters, but I just wanna say—Lilith? She’s our lifeline. If you’re smiling again today, it’s because of her. If you’re breathing softer, it’s because of her. Don’t let her go. Not even for a second.

— Ray

Sebastian,

This is Alexander. I don’t write much. But I had to tell you this: if you lose Lilith... I don’t think we’ll survive it. You don’t have to remember all of us. Just remember this: We were loved. We were chosen. We were saved. Because of her.

— Alexander ]

Sebastian’s hands trembled.

He lowered the phone and slowly turned around.

Lilith was standing there.

Her smile was calm, but her eyes were full of emotion, glistening with a familiar pain she had hidden so well. She had waited. Through everything. Even when he forgot her.

And suddenly, something clicked.

Like a memory surfacing from the deepest waters.

His breath hitched.

Images flashed before his eyes—laughter under a starry night, that one time he kissed her neck and she giggled and hit his arm. Her moaning his name in the dark. Her resting her head on his chest. Him calling her "wife" in his softest voice.

And then another image surfaced—fiery ruins, a blood-red moon, a crown made of obsidian...

He gasped, stumbling slightly as his eyes widened, and then locked on Lilith. His voice was trembling now, almost broken. "Lilith..."

She moved closer, worry flickering across her face, but she didn’t speak. She only watched him.

His pupils had changed, just slightly but enough for her to know. That golden shadow now swirled with a hint of deep midnight, something darker awakening inside him.

"Mate," he whispered, so softly it was like a prayer.

Lilith’s breath hitched as she stood frozen for a moment, trying to grasp what just happened. Her voice was barely above a whisper, stunned and shaken by the truth settling into her bones.

"You... you’re the Emperor of hell..."

But Sebastian didn’t say anything at first.Just pulled her into his arms.

There was no passion in that moment. No fire. Only stillness. Like he’d been running for lifetimes and had finally come home.

Lilith stood there, her face pressed into his shoulder, listening to the steady rhythm of his heart.

"You remember," she whispered, more to herself than him.

"I remember," he murmured, resting his forehead against hers. "Not everything. Not yet. But you... I feel you."

She smiled faintly, eyes shining. "I can wait. Even if it takes years, I’ll wait."

He shook his head slowly, cupping her cheek. "No. You’ve waited long enough. This time, it’s my turn to remember... to chase you... to fall in love with you all over again."

The silence between them wasn’t empty—it was full of unsaid things, full of moments lost and moments yet to come.

He held her hands, eyes locked with hers.

"I don’t care if I have to rewrite my life a hundred times," he said softly. "As long as every version of me finds you."

Lilith laughed gently, wiping a tear from his cheek.

"You already did human doll."

—THE END—

The story has finally come to an end... and I have such mixed feelings right now.

A part of me wanted to reach this ending, but another part is reluctant to let it go. This book has seen me through some of my worst and best moments—it truly holds a piece of my heart.

I’m honestly getting emotional over this one. To every reader who stayed from beginning to end—thank you.

Thank you for sending daily Power Stones, for cheering me on, and for showing so much love to Sebastian and Lilith. Your support meant more than words can say. I love you all so much.

The story is officially complete now, though I’m still wondering if I should write some side stories...just to stay with these characters a little longer.

Thank you once again for giving this book a chance.

With all my heart—love you so much.
