Devoted Love:The Billionaire's Precious Wife
Chapter 821 - 822
CHAPTER 821: CHAPTER 822
The crowd roared with excitement as Horace squeezed his way to the edge and glanced back. The fighter was down, and he knew the boss had roughed it out in that cruel region before, able to handle
these backstreet brawlers with ease.
"Boss, I swear I’ll come back for you!" Horace led them away first.
Rosemary, now free from worries, floored the fighter and swiftly locked the cage door behind her as she made her exit.
A gunshot suddenly echoed through the arena. A lot of audience realized till then danger had descended and scrambled to the sides.
Zebulon, flanked by a slew of henchmen, had Rosemary cornered. "You think you can wreck my joint?"
Rosemary, facing the armed crowd, her eyes turning icy, retorted, "What, I need to write you a permission slip?"
"You’re in over your head!" With a wave of Zebulon’s hand, his goons opened fire.
Rosemary quickly subdued one of them, using the man as a human shield and seizing his weapon to return fire.
In the VIP room.
Steward reported with guilt, "Mr. Collins, Sam slipped away in the chaos, and I lost sight of Felix too. It’s that girl’s fault."
As he spoke, his gaze fell to the lone girl below. Her movements were lightning-fast, and Zebulon’s dozens of men couldn’t lay a finger on her.
Felix loved the thrill of the fight, so Sean had deliberately jacked up the price to a cool million bucks to lure him out.
And sure enough, when Sam reported his arrival, that girl had dashed to rescue the kid in the cage, and her crew had managed to snatch the kid’s mother too. Perhaps sensing danger, he had vanished
in the chaos, and Sam had fled also.
Damn her! Why play hero? Why stir up trouble? Couldn’t she just stay home, hit the books?
Once Felix showed, and they snagged him, they would’ve surely sent someone for the kid. They weren’t heartless! It was just a matter of moments.
Why did that girl have to meddle?
Steward had been on this lead for ages, and to think it would be botched today, and by a meddling schoolgirl, no less.
Sean eyed the agile girl on the ground floor, her aura defiant and cold, "Catch her, throw her to the mountain."
In the arena.
Zebulon, seeing his men strewn about in pain, only a few left circling Rosemary, stepped back fearfully,
"Who the hell are you?"
The girl wore a black mask, her face unseen, but her youthful clear eyes suggested she was just a teenager. So young, yet with such skill and bravery, she had not only taken down a 300-pound muscle-bound fighter but also left his men groveling on the ground.
At that moment, Steward arrived with reinforcements.
Zebulon, seeing them, as if spotting his salvation, "It’s this girl. She’s ruined Sean’s fun. Steward, get her!"
Sean?
Rosemary’s gaze lifted towards the VIP room. Silhouetted against the massive floor-to-ceiling window, a lean figure stood watching the melee below.
"This one’s for Sean to handle."
Steward spoke, and Zebulon instantly replied with respect, "Then it’s on you and Sean to teach her a lesson."
He then turned to his own men, "Let’s go!"
That girl falling into Sean’s hands was just her bad luck!
Many of his guys scrambled to their feet, helping each other to make an exit.
Steward watched the girl with the cool demeanor and haughty air, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something about her aura that reminded him of Sean. Did she also carry that same dismissive arrogance in her eyes???
"You’ve messed with Mr. Collins’s plans. Are you gonna walk out on your own, or shall my guys escort you?"
"Get on with it; why waste words?" Rosemary struck out quickly.
Steward felt the wind knocked out of him. He hadn’t expected this girl to be so tough and brazen. Did she not realize she was about to meet her maker?
His crew was nothing like Zebulon’s rookie henchmen. Each of them here had been personally trained by him.
Sean stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, watching Rosemary’s agile moves, swift as a flash. In no time, the lights in the room suddenly went out. When everyone’s eyes adjusted to the darkness, the girl had vanished.
It was Horace who had switched off the power, driving up to whisk her away.
Steward had never been bested by a girl before, and he walked into Room 1 with his tail between his legs, his voice a notch quieter, "Mr. Collins."
Before he could report, Sean spoke lazily, "I saw it."
Steward hung his head, baffled at how skilled the girl was.
"Beaten by a girl. It’s such a shame"
Steward’s face flushed. He wanted to say though she looked young, she was nearly as skilled as Sean, but now he felt ashamed for excuses.
"That girl’s got a background we don’t know about; never seen moves like that. I’ll have my people track her down. And about Sam, even though he got away, I had him swallow a poison pill before he
came here tonight. He won’t last the night."
"At least you did something useful," Sean turned to leave the room.
Steward hurried to keep up, "I’ll have the place guarded, and if anyone resembling Felix shows up, they’ll be captured on the spot."
"Not necessary," Sean’s expression was bland, his voice insouciant, "he won’t show up here again anytime soon."
With such a commotion, especially with Sam’s escape, he would sense the danger and wouldn’t walk into a trap. The clues they finally had were ruined by that girl, and Steward couldn’t resigned to it.
The elevator doors dinged open. Sean’s voice was casual, "Catch her, skin her alive."
"Will do!"
On the road, Horace drove like a madman, "Boss, you alright?"
"Could I be in trouble with those guys?"
"Of course not, boss. You’re the one who even tamed Romeo." Horace snickered as he spoke, then venturing, "Boss, I heard you and Romeo are an item, is that true?"
Rosemary shot him a look, and Horace quickly straightened up, "I knew they were messing with me,trying to get me scolded by you."
"They didn’t lie." Rosemary suddenly said, "It’s true."
Horace was stunned for a while, nearly missing a swerving truck. He hadn’t expected the boss to actually confirm it. It seemed the boss was quite taken with that man.
"What about the kid?" Rosemary asked coolly.
"Took him to a private clinic. Doc says he’s fine, and I’ve had someone send him and his mom back home. It’s a sad story, really. The kid’s dad is a real beast, racked up a ton of debt, then sold them both.
Oh, and boss, those guys are a bit difficult to handle."
