CHAPTER 831: CHAPTER 830

"Oh, right, Sean." Steward couldn’t help himself and blurted out again.

Perhaps afraid of testing Sean’s patience, he rushed his words, "We lost, and according to the bet, Harlan’s gotta crawl from the starting line to the finish line while cursing himself as a lowlife."

Should he intervene?

If Sean stepped in, Light Fleet sure as heck wouldn’t let Harlan crawl.

But Sean didn’t even look back. As he walked away, he said coldly, "Let him crawl and then kick him out of the team."

He had no intention of keeping him around.

Ever since he founded the team, Sean never led his team into any races, instead he always sent Harlan to represent them.

Perhaps because of this, Harlan got cocky. As he thought Sean really valued him, he became more and more self-important, so much so that he played around with women, got drunk and caused scenes

from time to time. But due to the Team’s rep, Harlan was never held accountable every time he stirred up troubles.

Now he’s gone too far, making bets he can’t honor. He brought this on himself.

Harlan’s loss to Rosemary and that fit he threw was a total embarrassment to the Drift Kings.

How could Sean possibly let him stay to keep losing face for the team and playing the big shot? There’s a saying that goes like, "You’ve made your bed, now lie in it."

Since he’s so keen on digging his grave, let him dig it far away.

At that moment, Harlan realized the boss had left, who showed no intention of bailing him out of this mess.

Although he could understand the boss’s frustration with the loss, it would be out of the question for him to crawl from start to finish .

He was the vice-captain, for crying out loud!

When Harlan tried to leave, Candice stepped in front with some crew members and blocked his path:

"You gotta pay up when you lose."

"Get out of my way," Harlan spat, with no sign of a sunny disposition. Seeing they wouldn’t budge, he snapped, "We already gave you the track as a handout, what more do you want?"

"It’s not a handout; we Light Fleet won it fair and square! If you’re up to it, try winning it back."

"Fair’s fair, don’t tell me you don’t honor your word?" Candice crossed her arms, demanding that he keep his promise.

"Just now, thousands of eyes saw and thousands of ears heard that, you, Harlan, boasted that if you lost, you’d crawl from start to finish while yelling you’re a lowlife."

He deserved it; it’s the consequence of him being so flippant and touching a woman’s chin on a whim.

If it weren’t for Rose stepping in, who knows what might’ve happened.

Candice knew that Rose’s bet was actually a way to stand up for her, and while she was internally grateful, she firmly said, "Today you have to crawl to the end, or we all won’t let you off the hook!"

The crowd started chanting: "Crawl! Crawl! Crawl!"

"I’m not crawling, what are you gonna do about it?" Harlan, relying on his status of being the vice captain, spoke defiantly.

At this point, the Drift Kings’ members heard that he was soon to be fired and abandoned by Sean, so they stepped back one by one, no longer willing to be his strong support.

People from Light Fleet slowly surrounded Harlan.

"Are you gonna crawl or not?"

Harlan didn’t expect that the friends who stood behind him just a moment ago had now vanished.

Suddenly, he felt a bit cowardly.

Some audience who disliked him spontaneously closed in while laying into him.

"Are you a man or what; your word’s as good as a fart."

"If you have any guts, crawl from the start to the finish, and I’ll respect you as a real man."

"You’re a disgrace to men everywhere."

Timothy had been waiting for a while, but Rosemary hadn’t come back. He learned that she had descended the hill by another path and had left a while ago.

Though he felt a bit disappointed, he was relieved to know that she was a member of the Light Fleet team.

He pushed open the small gate on one side of the wrought-iron barrier and saw a crowd gather around Harlan and press him to keep his word.

In the back of the group was someone from Light Fleet, whose name seemed to be Mignon.

Timothy approached and said, "Hey there, you’re Mignon, right?"

Before he could even ask about the name of the girl who drove, Mignon snapped, "What do you want?

Can’t you see we’re in the middle of something?"

Timothy was taken aback.

Harlan was being stubborn and refusing to crawl.

The onlookers were getting fed up and started to rough him up; Mignon joined in and gave him a few kicks.

Seeing that everyone was busy, Timothy could only have his guys find out the girl’s name.

"And keep an eye on Light Fleet’s upcoming match schedules for me."

He had a hunch she would show up again!

He was determined to be there to support her!

Meanwhile.

When Serena woke up, she found herself in a guest room in the building next door, with various medicines laid out on the nightstand.

At first, she thought her parents had sent someone to bring her back and had prepared the medicine, but then she checked her phone and realized it was Erik who had taken care of her and brought her back.

The only messages on her phone were from Erik, telling her to take care of herself, and one of the messages read, where there’s life, there’s hope.

When Serena saw that her parents were dead-set on casting her out of the Collins family, and leaving her to fend for herself, by telling Betty not to bring her food, her heart sank to the depths, and tears

rolled down her cheeks, as if she couldn’t believe her current plight.

Even though the race had ended long ago, the image of the girl’s beautiful face still lingered in Timothy’s mind.

He called up his friend, Romeo, "Romeo, do you know? She won! She won the race tonight! It was so freaking amazing!"

Romeo, who had intended to call Rosemary, was preempted by his buddy’s call. If he’d known it was going to be about that girl again, he probably wouldn’t have picked up.

"Romeo, did you know? She’s a racer! She’s got the same passion as me; it’s like the universe crafted the perfect partner just for me!"

Romeo deadpanned, "Dreaming already when the sun’s barely set?"

"Romeo! You haven’t seen her behind the wheel; she’s so cool!"

Romeo thought about his own darling racing to the hospital, and recalled how fast and fierce she drove that stretch of road.

"Nobody beats my fiancée," Romeo asserted with confidence.

"Your fiancée can race? Is she a pro driver?" Timothy sounded slightly skeptical.

"Not a pro, better than one. You seem a bit over your head. Want me to send someone over to knock some sense into you?"

Question his fiancée?

His fiancée was the best in the world!!

No question about it!!

"You don’t understand; she’s slim, tall, gorgeous and so classy. And she looks younger than me; I don’t even know if she’s of age. Anyway, if you saw her, you’d admit she’s the most beautiful and the most captivating girl in the world. I’m not lying."

Romeo remained unimpressed. He had never met anyone with more grace and beauty than his girl, "If you’re done, I’m hanging up."

Without waiting for Timothy to ramble on, Romeo hung up and dialed Rosemary’s number.
