Chapter 46: : Zhao Lan and Xuan
CHAPTER 46: : ZHAO LAN AND XUAN
Princess Xue Ming, along with Li Feng, flew across the forest in search of Xuan. Along the way, they came to learn a few things about each other.
While Li Feng was the one who gained strength and cultivated through Dual Cultivation Technique.
She was surprised and still did not believe Xue Ming when she said she was a virgin.
Li Feng couldn’t possibly believe that because she could clearly see how Xue Ming was very beautiful, and she hadn’t heard or seen anyone at Divine Stage 03 who hadn’t cultivated.
So it was very hard to believe.
Li Feng was also informed of the reason why Xue Ming was looking for Xuan. Hearing about her father’s condition only made Li Feng recall the elders’ warning about her father.
"That’s the cave," Li Feng quickly pointed it out, before the Phoenix beast flew past it.
Xue Ming immediately ordered her spirit beast down to the forest. Almost immediately she heard Li Feng, but that wasn’t the case.
Xue Ming had already spotted a few people walking out of the cave long before Li Feng mentioned it, which was why she responded almost immediately.
"Xuan!"
"What? Li Feng? That’s Li Feng," Xuan turned around to find the girl calling him.
Overall, Zhao Lan was now safe, and Fang Yuan supported the tracker, who might die any moment.
Besides, he still had bruises all over him, but he wasn’t going to die just like that. He still planned to fuck a few girls with the money Fang Yuan would pay him.
And according to Fang Yuan, he allowed Mei Long to walk away, but that wasn’t the same for Tae Lei.
"Didn’t you hear that, Zhao Lan? That was Li Feng," he said, feeling excitement coursing through his veins even though he hadn’t seen her yet.
"Hmph," Zhao Lan wasn’t happy Li Feng had suddenly stolen the attention Xuan was giving her a few moments ago. He even let go of her hands.
"Xuan, up here."
It was after he heard Li Feng that everyone saw the shadow of the Phoenix beast flying above them. Looking up, Li Feng was already jumping down even before the beast landed.
Li Feng ran towards Xuan, hugging him as if she had lost him. Xuan caressed her hair, something that caused the uneasiness of Zhao Lan.
But only Fang Yuan saw how she frowned. "So that’s his second, cough," the wounded tracker coughed with a very weak voice.
"Ahem." Not wanting to interrupt the lovers’ reunion, but the hugging had gone on long enough, Xue Ming faked a cleared throat.
It was at this time the girl standing beside the spirit beast stole everyone’s attention—the glamorous beauty in front of Xuan.
For a moment, in Xuan’s eyes, it seemed as if the tree was filtering the sun rays on Xue Ming, marking her glow that much.
Most importantly, Xuan was screaming inside himself, while Fang Yuan and the tracker already knew who she was.
But not why she was here, so Fang Yuan had to ask. "Is the princess also among your wives?"
The question just fell on Xuan’s ears because he wasn’t listening. The times when he would hide the portrait of Xue Ming under his pillow displayed for him to see.
If, as a cripple, someone told him this day would come, Xuan would never believe it. "You..." he stuttered. "You guys can see Princess Xue Ming too, right?" asked Xuan, trying his best to compose himself.
But no one said anything, and Xue Ming started walking towards Xuan. She stopped a few meters away from him and spoke first.
"I urgently need your help."
"You look even more beautiful in person. Is it true you’ve never cultivated with any man?"
"Xuan."
But Xuan’s sudden questions pushed her backward. She was perplexed. And the two wives screaming Xuan’s name at the same time were not helping.
"She said something about her dad needing a new cultivator’s technique that hasn’t been seen or used by him," Li Feng cut to the chase. Stealing Xuan’s glare for brief seconds made her happy.
"Yes, your friend is right. I do need your help because of my father. He’s dying as we speak," Xue Ming said, with a morsel of tears forming in her eyes.
Xuan sighed. Of course, he definitely had a technique the dying emperor hadn’t used in his lifetime.
But he wasn’t going to just give off something that precious to a man who didn’t know of his existence.
"Xuan, I have to take this man to the physicians. You should come with me to the capital. We can completely clear your name," said Fang Yuan.
"No, you should come with me. I assure you my father can help you, no matter the problem. Please, I beg you," Xue Ming pleaded with him.
It wasn’t really a hard decision, because without doubt Xuan would love to help his childhood crush. He just needed Fang Yuan to understand that.
Everyone kept quiet, waiting for him to reply to the princess, but Xuan faked as if he was thinking about it.
"Xuan, don’t forget about the Dual Academy," Zhao Lan said. She wasn’t reminding Xuan, but instead did not want her man to follow Xue Ming.
"It’s okay, Xuan. I’ll just meet you in the capital then. This man really needs the medic."
With that, Xuan nodded as Fang Yuan summoned his crane spirit beast, resting the wounded tracker on it before they both flew off.
Li Feng sighed. She walked towards Xuan and wrapped her slender arms around his neck. As she spoke, Zhao Lan was not happy about this.
"Well, I have an issue in my kingdom, so I’ll see you in the capital. And if you ever get lost, I’ll just find you with this map. Oh, and do you need money? You must have lost all the ones I gave you earlier," said Li Feng.
Of course, Xuan needed money, but he smiled and pretended it was a joke. Because he was in front of his crush, he didn’t want to make it look like he was completely depending on Li Feng.
"Alright, cowboy, keep those balls for me," Li Feng said, tapping on the big seeds between Xuan’s legs. Xue Ming had to look away with red cheeks.
While Zhao Lan was completely frowning. For some reason, she didn’t like what was happening.
With that, Li Feng summoned her colossal silver snake beast and mounted on its head, slithering her way past the forest at an unseen speed.
It was now left with Zhao Lan, Xue Ming, and Xuan.
"Come on, Zhao Lan, let’s go now," Xuan said to her, but she didn’t move. He sighed and walked to her, placing his hands on her cheek.
"What’s wrong?" were the next words she heard Xuan asking her.
"Nothing, let’s help Xue Ming’s father." Zhao Lan hid the fact away from Xuan. Even he knew something was wrong, but he couldn’t tell if she didn’t tell him.
He wasn’t a mind reader or emotion expert. In fact, Zhao Lan looked pretty much like a kudere the entire time and only just faked a smile when Xuan asked about her mood.
"Thank you, Miss Zhao Lan. Please, we must leave now."
Zhao Lan nodded. At least Xue Ming had given her a little respect. She needed that.
Xue Ming summoned her spiritual beast, and to her surprise, Zhao Lan summoned the same thing while smiling.
It wasn’t that they had the same abilities, but Zhao Lan’s spiritual beast was a copycat. It didn’t have a true form yet and, in the meantime, had the abilities to copy other spiritual beasts.
Also having the same abilities as the spiritual beast copied. But Xue Ming did not ask about this because she was running out of time.
So without hesitation, they both flew out of the forest.
"Ahem," Xuan cleared his throat. He didn’t have a spiritual beast yet and needed a lift. Of course, Zhao Lan would not let him ride with Xue Ming.
So she was the first to fly back down. "Sorry, I didn’t know you—"
"It’s okay, Zhao Lan."
Xuan got on the spirit beast, wrapping his hand around Zhao Lan’s waist. It now made her feel a little better that Xuan was giving her a little more attention.
So, with Xue Ming leading the way, they flew behind her, heading straight for the capital.
Overall, Xuan was thinking of the deal he would make with the harem lord Woo. He still couldn’t believe this was happening.
The people he admired and never imagined he’d see were needing his help. Xuan chuckled.
"Xuan," Zhao Lan called out. Now that the weather was nice and the sky was beautiful, it was the perfect timing she needed to know.
"Is there something wrong?"
Zhao Lan kept quiet a few minutes and sighed. "Tell me this. If you have many wives, will you ever notice me again?" she asked, staring down at the Phoenix’s red furs.
"Yes, I would. I owe you a lot, Zhao Lan, and it doesn’t matter how many wives I get, I would never stop loving you."
The words filled Zhao Lan with joy. She grabbed Xuan’s hand and even tightened his grip around her waist. "I love you so much, Xuan."
Xuan grinned. Of course she did.
