Dimensional Library Of Taboo Techniques!
Chapter 48: : Striking a deal with the dying lord
CHAPTER 48: : STRIKING A DEAL WITH THE DYING LORD
"If you would, allow me to demonstrate the Taboo Nipple God Technique."
Hearing that, the physician stumbled backward. It was impossible. Was that even a technique? "What? Did you make it up?" he asked.
"No. Should I demonstrate?" he said, stretching his hands toward Xue Ming.
The audacity Xuan had to request that with Xue Ming, Emperor Woo’s precious pearl, the first female in the world to never cultivate with any man or woman.
’Does this boy want to kill himself?’ the physician inwardly asked himself.
However, although the technique did sound a bit made up even for Emperor Woo, he wasn’t certain of the technique, and Xue Ming kept looking at Xuan’s stretched-out palm.
Woo coughed. "My daughter is inexperienced and wouldn’t tell the difference between dual techniques and your made-up technique."
Xuan frowned. It was true. "What to do now... ah yes," Xuan chuckled. "But if I demonstrate it in front of you, wouldn’t you be able to tell the difference?" he asked.
By this time, if Emperor Woo was still on his feet, Xuan would have been dead. The physician was undoubtedly sure about this because he could see how his dying lord was pissed off.
Of course, every loyal subject of the emperor knew him to have a very bad temper, even worse than a tyrant if you pissed him off.
But you wouldn’t want to kill the one man who had a chance of saving him. "And let me warn you, boy," although he was sick, when pissed off, Woo sounded dangerous.
The physician had to step away. Xuan made a mistake. He shouldn’t have been so arrogant.
"If your technique doesn’t heal me, I’ll tear that smile off your face before I die," Woo added before he coughed again.
Xuan sighed. First, he needed to know what was wrong with the emperor.
"Well, I believe my wife must need rest now."
"What? She’s your wife?" Emperor Woo raised his voice in astonishment. He could have almost sat up just then because he was surprised.
This beautiful woman was too much for Xuan. Xue Ming stood up. "Okay, please help my father now, and I’ll lead her to the guest room."
Xuan nodded. Zhao Lan felt reluctant for a brief second, but in the end, she had to leave with Xue Ming. She told Xuan to quickly join her once he was done.
With the ladies out, Xuan asked for a cultivator’s bookmark. The physician should have one, and he did, in his spatial ring.
"What do you want to use a bookmark for? Wouldn’t a cultivator’s orb be appropriate?" the physician asked.
A bookmark could check the stage of a cultivator by writing down their names. Why would Xuan need that?
"Ah, I see. So your meridian yin is depleting. You’re getting weaker, Emperor Woo."
"Don’t you think I know that? Tell me something I don’t know."
"Oh, I can’t possibly know the techniques you’ve used unless I get—"
"A technique bookmark?" the physician said. He dipped his hand into the silver ring and brought out a big book with intricate signs on it.
’Just how large is that thing?’ Xuan wondered, staring at the ring. If he had money, he would have gotten one of those.
Because his mediocre skills couldn’t conceal something that big, he wouldn’t be surprised if the spatial ring could swallow a human.
Xuan took the book. It was empty. "Good." He needed it to be empty because, unlike a cultivator’s bookmark that could be erased, this one couldn’t.
And it didn’t use an inkless brush but instead the blood of the owner.
Xuan took a needle from the physician, who seemed to have everything he needed. He pierced the left thumb of the emperor, and as the blood dropped on the bookmark—
The empty book began writing itself. It filled almost immediately because all the pages were now written with the little drop of blood.
Xuan flipped page by page and saw the different techniques Emperor Woo had used.
What he initially thought of was to repeat these same techniques and probably end up as strong as the emperor.
But that thought was overruled, knowing his taboo techniques were far better than these. Xuan sighed and closed the book.
"Well, it’s a matter of giving the right technique. Right now you don’t seem in control of your whole body," said Xuan.
"After I go through all this, I’ll know what technique you’ve used and which to recommend, but before that, I’ll have to concoct a dual medicine that can strengthen you for a few hours. That way you’d be able to use the technique," Xuan explained.
"What? Dual medicines? Are you an alchemy student in the academy?" asked the physician. On top of that, it didn’t even hit him that dual medicines could get the emperor on his feet for a few hours.
"I haven’t attended any classes yet, and I wouldn’t choose the path of alchemy. I’m going for dual," said Xuan.
The physician frowned. He really admired Xuan’s understanding of dual cultivation, and someone like Xuan who could also concoct dual medicines deserved praise.
"Don’t worry about the fear of expulsion. My daughter has explained everything to me. Help me, and I’ll see that you’re wealthy beyond measure," said the emperor.
That was a good deal and tempting, but that wasn’t what Xuan had in mind.
"No, all I want is that Princess Xue Ming doesn’t marry any man but me. And I’m not saying you should force it. I’m saying keep her away from any man; she’ll eventually fall for me," said Xuan.
Again, Xuan’s arrogance was masking the fact he was brilliant. The physician didn’t know what was going on in the boy’s head.
But for Xuan, there were many things that made him admire Xue Ming and have a crush on her. It wasn’t just because she was beautiful.
Someone who hadn’t cultivated in her lifetime and was at Divine Stage 03—once she tasted yin, she’d squeeze it all out of Xuan.
It would make him not just feel good but maybe even better than what the Elf Queen could squeeze out. Overall, it would make him stronger.
"So, I want your daughter," Xuan added.
