Dimensional Trader in Marvel
Chapter 365 - 361: Now You Should Die for a Good Cause
"Get up, come with me!" The next morning, the nine crew members and Peter Weyland who had barely spent the night in the Prometheus activity hall were woken up by a team of robot soldiers. Then they were pushed and shoved out of the activity hall.
At first they thought they were being taken to see Vickers, but when they walked all the way to the ship's pressure chamber, they realized that they weren't being taken to see Vickers. They were being taken out of the ship.
But they weren't even wearing space suits.
Even though early research and detection in outer space showed that this planet had an atmosphere and might have signs of life, this didn't mean the planet was good for human survival. Who knew what the atmosphere of this planet was like?
"Damn it, if you want to kill us, just do it quickly. There's no need to torture us!" Charlie Holloway was the first to speak again.
"Don't worry. The outside environment has been adjusted. It won't kill you!" the leading robot said coldly.
Then it opened the hatch door and pushed the 10 people into the elevator.
Soon the elevator reached the bottom hold. As the elevator doors opened, they saw the bottom hold with its doors wide open. A slim, tall figure in casual clothes was standing outside the ship looking at them. It was Vickers.
But what was surprising wasn't this.
It was the scene outside the ship behind Vickers.
The area around the Prometheus was now covered by a light purple energy shield.
And outside the shield.
Large groups of fully armed robot formations were constantly gathering. All kinds of strange large vehicles were moving around in the distance.
Teams of fighter planes roared through the sky.
There were also ships many times bigger than the Prometheus constantly taking off and landing in the distance.
At the same time, steel buildings for unknown purposes were being built in the distance.
It could be said that the valley that was originally empty except for the surface ruins left by the engineers had now clearly become a huge space military base.
"My God... did we travel to the Star Wars?" Looking at this incredibly shocking scene, several Star Wars fans in the group couldn't help but cry out.
Because the appearance of these robots outside and the various vehicles looked exactly the same as the Old Republic in the Star Wars movies.
But of course they looked exactly the same—these products were originally technology from the Star Wars.
"Alright everyone, I know you're very curious about where these things came from, but I have to say, these have nothing to do with you. Knowing too much doesn't matter either. I think through your internal discussions yesterday, you should already know the original purpose of coming to this planet. And next, I'm going to show you the secrets of this planet... Get on!" Vickers pointed to a small shuttle on the empty ground nearby.
Facing the strong Vickers, they had no choice but to obediently board the shuttle.
After everyone got on, the shuttle took off and flew toward a huge ship parked in the distance outside the energy shield.
And they didn't notice that right after they took off, the Prometheus ship inside the energy shield disappeared.
Well, it was actually collected by Vickers into the system space, then traded to Josh in another universe.
As for why Josh, who had technology far beyond the Prometheus world, would be interested in the Prometheus ship, it was actually very simple.
This was an original, top-quality collector's item.
The shuttle quickly landed on that giant ship.
After landing, everyone was taken to a place that looked like a laboratory.
This was a round hall-style laboratory, several floors high. Each floor had many isolation chambers that looked like prison cells.
And they were put into different isolation chambers one by one.
Actually, at this point, looking at the busy experimental robots around them, some people already felt something was wrong. But facing the dark gun barrels of the robot soldiers, they couldn't do anything.
Not long after, Vickers also arrived.
But her casual clothes had changed into a special protective suit.
Seeing her change, everyone realized that this might be the time when the final answer would be revealed.
Soon, a huge freezing chamber rose from the center of the hall.
The side with the observation window faced exactly where everyone was being held.
So Peter Weyland and the others could clearly see that inside the freezing chamber was a smooth, hairless, large humanoid creature.
"My dear father, look, he is the creator you were looking for. I found him yesterday in the ruins on this planet—the only one alive. Yes, on this planet, the creator civilization you were looking for is all dead. We'll talk about why they died later... So are you ready to meet your creator, my father?" Vickers laughed loudly and patted the freezing chamber, looking at Peter Weyland who was locked in the isolation chamber.
"..." Peter Weyland looked at the humanoid creature in the freezing chamber with shaking hands, but finally said nothing.
Because there was no point.
He had once desperately wanted to meet these beings who created humans, but now, everything here was under the control of his rebellious daughter. What good would getting excited do?
Seeing that Peter Weyland didn't speak, Vickers didn't care. She immediately told an experimental robot nearby to wake up this "engineer."
As the robot operated the control panel, the temperature in the freezing chamber began to rise, and the sleeping engineer inside slowly began to breathe.
Seeing the engineer's chest start to rise and fall, even though they were being held prisoner, the Prometheus crew led by Peter Weyland and Charlie Holloway couldn't help but get excited.
The creator of humans—what a great discovery this was.
Looking at these people's expressions, Vickers had a cold smile on her face.
So what if they were once creators? Now they were just test subjects... You are no different.
Soon, as the awakening work was completed, the engineer woke up.
Looking at the scene around him, the engineer who had been sleeping for more than two thousand years was also confused. But just when he wanted to figure out what had happened, he found that he couldn't move.
It turned out that although he had been unfrozen, his arms and legs were still tightly restrained.
"Tell him the current situation. As a translator, also let my father know what kind of things his hoped-for creators really are!" Vickers ordered a robot beside her.
"Yes, Commander!" The robot saluted, then began talking to the engineer using the "engineer" language analyzed from David's chip.
But as soon as the robot finished speaking, the engineer became very angry and violent, wanting to attack the robot and Vickers.
But the restraint device on his body made it impossible for him to move.
Even though the engineer's strength and body were several times stronger than normal humans, he was still just flesh and blood. The device holding him wasn't made of unbreakable vibranium, but it was the best alloy from the Star Wars world. It couldn't be broken by just physical strength.
"He says that we and humans are all failed experiments that should be destroyed!" Soon, the robot translated what the engineer said.
"Oh wow, how unreasonable! He even insulted you too!" Hearing the robot's translation, Vickers couldn't help but joke, then looked at Peter Weyland and the others who were now shocked.
"No, this can't be true. You're lying to us!" Charlie Holloway shouted.
"Prisoner, you can doubt how accurate my translation is, but please don't doubt my honesty!" the robot complained.
After improvements from Star Wars world technology, the robots that Josh made now didn't have real self-awareness, but they could copy human emotions very well, just like robots in the Star Wars world.
"Actually, seeing this creator's attitude, you already believe it in your hearts. You just don't want to admit it, right?" Vickers laughed coldly. "But it doesn't matter. I'll show you other things."
Then, following her order, another platform rose in the center of the laboratory. On the platform was a completely sealed transparent test box.
Inside wasn't anything else—it was those jars filled with alien gene liquid that were carried on the engineer ships.
Seeing this jar, the engineer immediately got excited again.
"Make him quiet!" Vickers said, looking annoyed.
Then two robots raised the electric sticks in their hands and pressed them against the engineer's body.
Strong electric current flashed, and the engineer immediately became quiet.
"Do you know what this is?" Vickers pointed at the jar and asked.
Obviously, she couldn't get an answer. Everyone's faces showed confusion.
"Hehe, of course. How could you possibly know... Let me put it this way. This planet isn't actually the home planet of these beings you think are creators. It's one of their research military bases. Underground in those ruins, there are hundreds of their ships. And two thousand years ago, there were thousands of your creators here doing research. And what they were researching was this!" As Vickers explained, various holographic images appeared behind her—ships, engineers. This data was all taken from the engineer ships.
"Shit... Research military base? You mean they were making weapons on this planet? This is a weapon?" A biologist in the group couldn't help but cry out.
The people who understood the dangers of biological weapons best were definitely the people who studied them.
"Yes, but not completely... You might not believe this, but this thing both created us—or more exactly, created life on Earth—and is also the thing that will destroy us!" Vickers also stared at the jar and said with some feeling.
The crew members were completely confused by what Vickers said.
Vickers didn't rush to explain. Instead, she signaled to a robot nearby.
Soon, several test boxes containing different animals were brought into the laboratory.
Then, under the robot's operation, the gene liquid from the jar was injected into these animals.
Soon, these animals began to change dramatically. Some became deformed monsters, while others began to melt like wax figures.
And those deformed monsters were clearly very aggressive, constantly hitting against the sealed boxes.
Seeing what this black liquid could do, everyone was shocked.
What a terrible biological weapon.
"Very interesting stuff, isn't it? Different genes produce different changes... I think I understand why Josh wants to study this!" Looking at the different changes in the boxes, Vickers smiled.
After reading data from the engineer ships, Vickers and Josh already knew what this liquid was for.
It wasn't just a simple biological weapon like Josh first thought, and it wasn't just material for making aliens.
To be exact, this black liquid was basically an evolution liquid.
Any living thing that touched this stuff would evolve.
But this evolution was uncertain.
Or it would be more accurate to call it mutation.
It might evolve into higher life forms, or it might break down into microorganisms—the scene at the beginning of the movie where the engineer was broken down was actually another kind of evolution. His body cells evolved into various microorganisms, spread into the water, and became the source of life on Earth.
When worms touched the black liquid, when crew members touched the black liquid and mutated, and when the male lead took the black liquid and had relations with the female lead to create the "octopus," these were all different kinds of mutations.
As for aliens, they were just extreme species created from late-stage evolution.
The reason engineers wanted to drop this stuff on Earth was actually simple—destruction, but it was just the beginning of another kind of creation.
In the end, humans were just a batch of not very successful test subjects in the engineers' eyes.
Just like robots made by humans—but do humans care about robots' survival or death?
"What the hell is this thing?" Peter Weyland asked in a deep voice.
"Didn't I just say? This is what created us, and also what was originally going to destroy us—in that underground base, there's a ship full of this stuff, and its planned target, you probably can't imagine, was Earth!" Vickers told them what she knew. "If this stuff hadn't leaked two thousand years ago, causing all these so-called creators to die, humans might have been destroyed two thousand years ago!"
Shit!
Fuck!
Hearing Vickers' words, all the crew members were shocked and angry again.
They could imagine what terrible things would happen if they touched this black liquid without knowing, or if this black liquid was dropped on Earth.
"So now, you also want to study this stuff?" Peter Weyland asked.
"...Yes... Alright, I've said everything I needed to say. You now know the true face of your so-called creators. So I think, as test subjects similar to what the creators made, you should die for a good cause now--" A terrifying smile appeared on Vickers' face.
