Dimensional Trader in Marvel
Chapter 377 - 373: The New Sea Queen
Seeing his spear about to pierce the human's head, and noticing that the man's followers hadn't reacted at all, Namor felt excited.
Although the Naga called Narathas and the others on the ship looked strong, Namor was sure he could easily escape because of his power and ability to fly.
At that time, this mysterious group would surely become confused, giving him and his people time to retreat to Talokan and defend themselves using the geography.
But in the next second, Namor saw a mocking smile on Josh's face, and his spear couldn't move forward anymore.
Namor's heart skipped a beat, and he instinctively tried to pull his spear back, but it wouldn't budge.
"I gave you a chance, but you're useless!" Josh sighed under Namor's shocked gaze, then reached out a finger and touched the tip of Namor's spear.
A powerful purple energy flowed into Namor's spear. The spear, made from strong Vibranium, cracked and then exploded into pieces.
The huge shockwave threw Namor backward. Sharp fragments of the spear filled with destructive power pierced Namor's body, quickly damaging his body.
Namor, who was blown away, couldn't escape the cargo ship. Instead, he was blocked by an invisible energy barrier and fell heavily back onto the deck.
"Cough… cough… How is this possible?" Namor spat blood, staring at Josh in shock. Josh's strength was beyond his imagination.
"Nothing is impossible. Did you really think your little plan could fool anyone?" Josh said calmly from his chair, then added, "Since you attacked first, don't blame me for fighting back!"
"No, please! It's all my fault! Kill me, but spare my people!" Hearing Josh's words, Namor immediately felt danger and begged.
Though both are called "Sea Kings," Namor and DC's Arthur had completely different personalities.
Arthur was raised by humans, so as Sea King, he aimed for peace between Atlantis and humanity.
Namor, however, was born an ocean dweller. He only cared about his people, even if it meant destroying humans.
Still, he felt deeply responsible for his people.
From Josh's words, Namor knew his attack caused Josh to plan an attack on Talokan.
At this moment, the people of Talokan had no idea about any of this.
Namor knew exactly what would happen if the huge army attacked them now.
He couldn't accept that outcome.
Immediately losing his earlier pride, Namor began begging Josh.
"You should've thought about the result before acting. Take him away, but don't let him die yet. He's still useful," Josh waved his hand and instructed the person next to him, Vito.
Useful for what? Of course, to return a favor. He planned to let Yuriko brainwash this Sea King and his people after the war and then trade them to Abbendis for more Nagas.
In Azeroth, Abbendis couldn't openly sell Naga slaves because he feared the powerful underwater Naga Empire. He could only sell them secretly to Josh.
But what if there were a group of "humans" able to move freely underwater, just like the Naga?
For Abbendis, they would clearly be a very important fighting force, able to help in unexpected ways during special situations.
Josh was certain Abbendis would like this idea.
This wasn't just business, but also mutual support and cooperation.
Josh had already put a lot of effort into Abbendis, and Azeroth, rich in resources, was a world he deeply cared about.
So, the stronger Abbendis became, the more beneficial it was for him.
"I'll leave the rest to you. Capture as many alive as you can! But you don't have to hold back too much—a few survivors will be enough!" After Vito dragged Namor away, Josh turned to Narathas and said, "After this, that underwater city will belong to your Naga. From now on, you'll be the Queen of Talokan!"
When the Naga took over Talokan and eventually revealed themselves to the world, the nations of Earth would surely be surprised.
"Thank you for your generosity, Master!" Narathas happily replied. Who wouldn't enjoy having power?
She left swinging her snake tail cheerfully, making Josh suddenly want to stroke it.
Meanwhile, the underwater sea creatures had already begun attacking the Talokan army.
Similar to Wakanda, the Talokan people actually possessed advanced technology. But due to their powerful Vibranium armor and strong bodies, they preferred fighting in a very old-fashioned way.
They mainly used spears and similar weapons.
But what about Josh's sea creatures? Most of them could use magic.
Even the weakest murlocs had prophets who could cast spells.
Although they couldn't use advanced magic, simple ice and healing spells were easy for them.
Makrura were especially skilled at casting ice arrows.
Not to mention the Nagas and water elementals.
Because of Vibranium armor, ice magic like frost arrows couldn't directly hurt the Talokan warriors, but the freezing effects created many problems for them.
The battle took place more than a thousand meters underwater.
Here, the water temperature stayed between 0 and 2 degrees Celsius. It remained liquid only because seawater freezes at lower temperatures and due to ocean currents.
But now, under the chilling power of the ice spells, many small pieces of ice formed easily.
Strong currents carrying ice fragments hit the Talokan warriors, making even those used to deep-sea living feel extremely uncomfortable.
However, their biggest threat wasn't the ice spells, but the dolphins and giant squids.
The dolphins from "Red Alert" carried sonic weapons. Before this battle, these weapons had been adjusted to frequencies that could neutralize Vibranium.
When hit by the dolphins' sonic waves, the Vibranium armor worn by the Talokan warriors instantly became useless.
The only drawback was that dolphins weren't natural deep-sea creatures. Due to their size, they couldn't dive as deeply as whales.
Normally, they could only dive about 300 meters deep. Reaching over 1,000 meters was already the result of genetic modification.
Going any deeper would still be beyond their limits.
In comparison, the giant squids were different. Even without genetic changes, these creatures lived naturally in the deep ocean at depths beyond 2000 meters.
Although these terrifying giants weren't armed and couldn't easily break Vibranium armor, they didn't need to. Their huge tentacles wrapped around Talokan warriors, easily pulling them away and tossing them straight into the ranks of the other sea creatures.
Under this overwhelming attack, the army of over five thousand Talokan soldiers quickly started to retreat.
When the Talokan warriors realized the dolphins—their biggest threat—couldn't chase them deeper underwater, their orderly retreat turned into a panicked escape.
"Good, run faster! Lead us straight to Talokan!" Narathas felt delighted rather than surprised at seeing the fleeing soldiers. She calmly followed behind with her army. This was exactly what she wanted; otherwise, it would have been difficult to locate the underwater city.
Still, Narathas knew her current forces might struggle to conquer Talokan alone.
However, she didn't have to worry, as numerous giant submarines were already moving toward her location. Loaded with countless deep-sea combat robots, these submarines carried the real invading force.
At this moment, the people of Talokan had no idea about the disaster approaching them.
They still believed their king and protector, Namor, would always keep them safe.
Little did they know, Namor couldn't even protect himself now.
Therefore, when the first panicked soldiers returned to Talokan, the residents couldn't even set up defenses immediately.
In this respect, the Talokan people were even worse off than Wakanda. For hundreds of years, Namor had protected them too well. Living in complete isolation underwater had left them unprepared for emergencies.
So when Narathas arrived with her army, she didn't see the well-organized defense she expected. Instead, she saw only chaos and panic.
Having grown up in Azeroth, constantly facing war, Narathas would never miss such a perfect chance. She immediately led her army to attack Talokan's weak defenses.
By the time the deep-sea robots arrived, Narathas had already begun a massive assault within the city.
But due to limited forces, she couldn't conquer the entire city immediately.
Just as Josh had predicted, the population of Talokan was small—only a few hundred thousand.
Before entering the ocean in the 16th century, Talokan had been a tiny tribe in Central America. It took centuries to grow into its current size.
However, a small population didn't mean the city was small. Since the ocean floor was vast and unclaimed, the Talokan people had built their city freely. Its size was no smaller than large cities on land.
Narathas's initial troops struggled to fully control it.
But once the army of deep-sea robots arrived, Talokan's weakened defenses collapsed completely.
Talokan civilians, who had been observing cautiously, also began fleeing in panic.
Unfortunately for them, Josh had already placed tight defenses around the entire region, trapping the fleeing Talokan people with nowhere to run.
In just a few hours, without their leader Namor, the underwater city of Talokan, located more than 8,000 meters beneath the ocean, completely fell to countless robot attackers.
Most of Talokan's people were captured, and very few managed to escape.
A few hours later, Josh rode on Godzilla, entering Talokan triumphantly. Under Narathas's respectful welcome, he sat upon the throne that once belonged to Namor.
"You did well. From now on, this throne is yours, my Lady of the Sea!" Josh didn't stay seated long, quickly getting up and motioning Narathas to take the seat.
Actually, the throne was made entirely of Vibranium, hard and uncomfortable.
"Thank you, Master!" Narathas was thrilled.
When Josh handed her the golden trident symbolizing the ultimate authority over the ocean, she was overwhelmed with excitement and pride.
Forget Azshara, forget N'Zoth—Josh Kahn was her true god and master now!
"Boss, we've got good news! The Vibranium reserves here are even larger than Wakanda's, and we've also found huge amounts of raw Vibranium stored in warehouses!" Right after Josh granted Narathas her new title, Vito eagerly reported to him.
Josh was delighted hearing that Talokan had more Vibranium reserves and large quantities already stored.
Now, he'd no longer worry about running out of Vibranium, and he also gained a new underwater kingdom.
"We also discovered how the Talokan people survive underwater," Vito said, handing Josh a strange little flower. "Anyone who eats this flower can breathe underwater through their skin and gain incredible strength, but they'll lose the ability to breathe on land."
"Haha, so it's similar to Wakanda's Heart-Shaped Herb. Looks like there's another god backing Talokan!" Josh laughed when he saw the flower.
But he didn't dig deeper, knowing that most minor dimensional gods no longer dared to visit Earth.
When he previously spoke with the Ancient One, she'd mentioned that after the disappearance of gods like the Panther Goddess, weaker dimensional beings avoided Earth entirely.
Still, Josh had a feeling from the Ancient One's expression that things weren't so simple.
Either way, he didn't need to worry about those gods for now.
…
Having finished his work in Talokan, Josh returned to Neuschwanstein Castle, enjoying a peaceful life once more.
"Sir, Aldo is calling," Pangu notified him via his smartwatch one afternoon while Josh was fishing.
"Answer it," Josh replied casually.
"Boss! Next Friday marks the fifth anniversary of Jurassic Park One, and it's also the opening day for Westworld One. Would you like to come and inspect our work?" Aldo's voice came from the watch.
The first Jurassic Park had opened five years ago, a year before Josh last left Earth. At that time, it caused huge excitement in America and around the world.
Using the experience from that first park, Continental Group was now building Jurassic Park Two on an island near southern Spain.
They had no further expansion plans at the moment, since in this era, apart from Europe and America, most regions weren't wealthy enough, and building more would only result in losses.
Although Josh didn't intend to profit too much from theme parks, he certainly didn't want to lose money either.
As for Westworld—it was Continental Group's newest project. Those who knew, knew!
"Going back to America, huh… It might be good to visit," Josh thought briefly before deciding.
But before that, a new dimensional beacon would soon appear!
