「Huff… Huff, huff, huff! Are my two thousand years all in vain?! That can't be…」

Luniman desperately tried to gather the fragments of the 《Saint Staff》.

I stood beside him, pressing the blade of my sword to his neck.

Luniman lunged at me as he shouted with a demonic expression, tears streaming down his face.

I swung my sword swiftly.

My slash struck Luniman's abdomen, severing his upper body from his lower body, and he collapsed to the ground.

Without the 《Saint Staff》, Luniman, whose level was only around 2000, posed no threat to me.

Luniman struggled to raise his arm toward the sky.

There, I saw Lunaire standing atop the tallest tower.

Luniman cried out in despair.

「It seems nothing went according to your wishes, Luniman.」

I raised my sword overhead.

「I REFUSE… I REFUSE TO ACCEPT SUCH AN ENDING!」

Luniman screamed like a baby.

I swung my sword down and crushed Luniman's head, ensuring his demise.

I swung my sword to the side to scatter the blood sticking to the blade and returned it to its sheath.

「Kanata-san!」

Pomera and Philia rushed over to me.

Philia was spinning around, swinging her right arm and shoulder in circles.

「Kanata, Kanata! I'm healed thanks to the light from before!」

The wound inflicted on her using 《Mammon Spear》 had healed and returned to normal.

It seemed that the irreversible hex had been successfully dispelled by Lunaire's magic earlier.

We took advantage of the commotion to leave the area and meet up with Lunaire in a quiet alley.

In the alley, I found Lunaire, with Noble Mimic by her side.

「Thank you for your timely arrival, Lunaire-san.」

「You have… Some time to kill? Lunaire-san, weren't you burdened with a lot of retrieval tasks by Veranta? What's the status of your job?」

「I finished all of it.」

Lunaire added while crossing her arms with a proud look on her face.

「I've already completed the subjugation of the 《Starving Giant》 and the 《World Beast》, as well as the destruction of the 《Dragon's Orb》 and the 《Tome of Ruin》. I finished as fast as possible since I couldn't afford to let anything happen to you.」

「I-I see…」

She was speedrunning the final quest.

According to Veranta's assessment, those four tasks were supposed to be far more troublesome than the 《Saint Staff》.

At this point, haven’t we already completed everything we could to counter the higher beings?

「The intensity is incredible. We NeeD to go ApoloGize to the High Elf librariAn and the draGon who owned the oRb when IWE have the chance later.」

Lunaire turned her cold glare at Noble Mimic.

She might have destroyed the items without obtaining permission or asking questions first to save time.

Pomera heaved a sigh as she spoke.

「Lower your head, Pomera. I'll give you a head pat!」
