CHAPTER 106: CHAPTER 106 : THE UNDEAD GENERAL
Chapter 106 : The Undead General
With [Non Entity] active, Axton became nothing more than a passing whisper in the darkness. His body emitted no aura, no heat, no trace of mana — as though he had been erased from existence itself.
He could attack at any time, and no one would ever see it coming.
And that was exactly what he did.
Bang!
The sound echoed faintly across the cavern as Axton’s fist slammed into the back of the Undead Mage with bone-crushing force. The creature’s spine bent at an unnatural angle before it was sent tumbling forward, crashing into the rocky ground.
Axton straightened his fist and watched coldly. His base attack power was already monstrous, but this time, it was more than enough to challenge the undead’s base defense. He had learned from countless battles that raw strength, when wielded precisely, could be just as deadly as any spell or weapon.
He wanted to test that theory again — and his target was perfect for it.
The Undead Mage screeched as it struggled to regain balance, its empty eye sockets glowing with faint green light as it tried to sense the source of the attack. But [Non Entity] kept Axton’s presence hidden, turning him into a ghost in a world that already belonged to the dead.
’If I summon my weapon now, the effect will vanish,’ Axton reminded himself. He clenched his fist again, stepping lightly across the dusty ground. ’One mistake, and it’ll see me.’
He didn’t plan to give it that chance.
Before the mage could even turn around —
Bang!
Another blow landed on its side, followed immediately by a third that sent the creature reeling.
Bang! Bang!
Bones cracked and dark energy scattered like smoke in the air.
The Undead Mage staggered, its hands trembling as it raised a skeletal staff, beginning to channel necrotic energy. Its magic was powerful, but its rhythm was broken, disrupted by the invisible barrage from a foe it couldn’t locate.
That was when Axton decided to end it.
[Chaotic Hammering]
The moment he invoked the skill, [Non Entity] dissipated — his figure flickering into visibility as a blinding surge of chaos energy condensed into his palms. The Hammer of Chaos materialized, its surfaces pulsating with unstable energy that distorted the air around it.
The Undead Mage sensed the sudden presence, but it was already too late.
Boom!
Axton swung the hammer down with tremendous force, striking the undead’s ribcage and sending shockwaves through the chamber. Fractured bones scattered everywhere.
Before the creature could even collapse, Axton struck again.
And again.
Each hit landed with brutal precision, carrying the combined weight of chaos energy and Axton’s unrestrained strength. The air vibrated, dust rose, and the flickering green flames in the Undead Mage’s eyes dimmed until its skull shattered like glass.
The body froze mid-motion before dissolving into a flurry of black particles. The oppressive aura that had filled the area vanished with it, leaving only silence and a faint lingering mist of dark mana.
Axton exhaled, resting the hammer against his shoulder. He glanced around cautiously before dismissing the weapon, watching it vanish into motes of light.
Then, the familiar sound came.
Ding!
A cascade of golden notifications appeared before his eyes.

[Item Acquired: Undead Mage Saint Class Book]
Axton’s lips curled into a small grin. "Not bad..."
He quickly clicked on the item that caught his attention the most.
[Undead Mage Saint Class Book]
[Effects: Grants mastery over necromancy, allowing the user to summon undead skeletons that obey commands. (Upgradable)]
[Drawback: Can only be used by members of the Undead race.]
Axton’s smile faltered slightly. "Of course there’s a catch."
He stared at the glowing tome hovering before him. Its cover was made from decayed flesh, stitched with black runes that pulsed faintly like a heartbeat. The aura surrounding it was chilling, almost sentient.
He could sense the potential within it — mastery over necromancy, the power to command legions of undead at will. Such a skill could change everything. With it, he could form an army that never tired, never disobeyed, and never feared death.
But the restriction was severe.
"Only usable by undead..." he muttered under his breath.
For a brief moment, he considered experimenting on himself — perhaps using some transformation ability or mimicry skill. But that would be reckless, even for him. There had to be another way.
Then, his gaze fell upon the bone cores he had been collecting earlier.
A spark lit in his mind.
’The coalition process... if it worked before, it can work again.’
Axton crouched down, retrieving several glowing bone cores from his inventory. Each one pulsed faintly with stored necrotic energy — remnants of the undead he had slain earlier. He arranged them carefully on the ground in a circular formation.
"The Undead Mage interrupted me the last time I tried this," he said quietly, his tone low and deliberate. "Let’s see if you can still serve me, even in death."
He placed his hand over the glowing formation, channeling energy into it.
Dark mist began to swirl around him, forming a vortex that tugged at his clothes and hair. The ground trembled lightly, reacting to the unnatural ritual.
System prompts flickered before his eyes —
[Initiating Coalition of Bone Cores...]
[Processing undead attributes...]
[Fusion in progress...]
[Compatibility confirmed.]
Axton’s eyes gleamed. "Good."
Seconds stretched into minutes, and the vortex grew thicker — the combined energy of countless undead cores spiraling into a singular form. The air filled with whispers of forgotten souls, their cries faint but unmistakable.
Then —
Boom!
The vortex burst open, releasing a surge of dark light.
[Coalition of Bone Cores: Successful]
[You have manifested a summon.]
[Summon: Undead General]
[Grade: 5]
[Level: 30]
When the light faded, a towering figure emerged from the black mist.
The Undead General stood over two meters tall, encased in decayed armor that still gleamed faintly under the flickering blue fire that served as its eyes. Its every movement exuded dominance — a soldier born for command, carrying an aura of ancient authority.
Even Axton had to admit, the creature’s presence was impressive.
The General’s heavy steps echoed as it approached, each one leaving faint cracks on the stone floor. Its skeletal face lifted slightly as it came to a stop in front of Axton, and then —
It knelt.
The sound of metal scraping against stone filled the silence as the Undead General lowered itself onto one knee. The flames in its eye sockets flickered in a respectful bow.
"My lord..." it spoke, its voice deep, echoing like wind through a tomb.
Axton looked down at it, his expression calm but satisfied. The energy signature linking them was strong — this undead wasn’t resisting. It had accepted him fully as its master.
He reached out and placed a hand on its shoulder.
"Rise."
