Chapter 1419 - 1420 - Meteor Shower
CHAPTER 1419: 1420 CHAPTER METEOR SHOWER
"Finally, things have settled down. They really are something, causing such a big commotion."
Seeing the tourists outside return to normal and stop panicking, Feng Yuan said helplessly. Agunas glanced at Feng Yuan and replied irritably,
"This isn’t exactly His fault. With such a sudden event, no one was prepared. Hurried and frantic, it’s already good that no major incidents occurred."
"True, but a meteor shower... I wonder what it will look like? Should we go and see?"
"That area has been cleared. Who knows how big His meteorites might be? If they’re like the Sky Meteor Fire Rain—another kind of ultimate move—that would be a problem."
Agunas flicked his tail uneasily as he spoke. It couldn’t be helped; the scenario wasn’t impossible. If the meteorites were too large, it would essentially be no different from an offensive ultimate move.
Hearing Agunas, Feng Yuan thought for a moment and laughed,
"Actually, that sounds kind of fun~"
"Sounds pretty exciting~"
Agunas rolled his eyes at Feng Yuan, flicking his tail in exasperation, unwilling to comment further. That guy was simply enjoying the chaos. If that situation actually happened, the threat level around Soretcher would be forced to adjust.
"Shouldn’t be, right? If it really is, then the meteorite research would be..."
The shop clerk handed the carved Xiao Ji statue to Feng Yuan, speaking in surprise. Feng Yuan took it and placed it in front of Xiao Ji. Watching the statue spread its wings, Xiao Ji happily flapped its wings and chirped. Feng Yuan patted Xiao Ji’s head and said to the clerk,
"The more dangerous the meteorite, the greater its value, right? Everything finds balance. Don’t you think having more rare meteorites would be a good thing?"
"Well, no, I think Soretcher City shouldn’t rely solely on meteorite resources. If the surroundings are too dangerous, the development of Soretcher could instead fall into crisis."
Thinking it over, the shop clerk shook his head and said. Seeing Feng Yuan ready to say more, the clerk added,
"And besides, the rarer the resource, the less its yield, right? I’m ultimately just an ordinary person. Researching meteorites is only my job and interest. I was born and raised in Soretcher. Compared to the greater development meteorite research might yield, I hope more that Soretcher City becomes better."
"That’s true too, but the specifics of the situation are still unclear for now."
Feng Yuan shook his head as he spoke. Although he had a general idea, no one knew the exact details yet. Even Veronia was just waiting in the area at the moment. Just then, the sound of commotion came from outside. Feng Yuan glanced at the people running to look out the floor-to-ceiling windows and turned to Agunas, saying,
"Has it started?"
"Yes, a small meteor shower, not very destructive."
Having asked Veronia about the actual situation, Agunas sighed with relief. Apparently, He hadn’t gone mad enough to create a giant descending meteor equivalent to a natural phenomenon offensive move.
"Indeed, quite a spectacle. Unfortunately, at this size, it probably won’t have any of your companions."
Veronia petted the small lizard on her shoulder and watched the meteor shower fall continuously, saying. Belusir shook his head and said,
"It’s not certain. After all, we’re unsure of His capabilities."
"True, but between Him and Feng Yuan, who has more tricks up their sleeve?"
Remembering something, Veronia chuckled softly, saying. Nearby, the soldiers who noticed the disturbance approached, aware of Veronia and Belusir but made no additional moves. After all, Veronia had no Spirit Beasts beside her, and the massive palace shadow floating behind her couldn’t be conjured by just anyone.
This level of existence, even if troublesome, is beyond what they can handle.
"They didn’t bother us; it seems the Palace of Stars is indeed useful~"
Veronia chuckled softly, glancing at the soldiers pretending not to see her. Belusir curiously inspected the palace shadow. Veronia’s clothing style leaned more towards the Omeilia Region, yet this palace group followed the Divine Land Region’s style, appearing somewhat odd.
After hesitating, Veronia asked,
"This palace seems unlike your usual style?"
"Of course, the Palace of Stars is a treasure he left behind years ago, and I’m merely its keeper. It’s just a shame it seems he’s forgotten about it."
Veronia shook her head, looking at the palace group. Though it was merely a model, it was actually a complete palace projection. Summoning it was only a precaution against Him, given that after the World of Mirrors transformed, the power she could wield was greatly diminished compared to its prime.
However, seeing the meteor shower relieved her; at this scale, it wouldn’t cause much trouble.
"It seems He won’t feel lonely, and you can spare a slot."
Seeing something, Belusir stretched his hand towards a descending meteor and used his power to draw it into his hand. The meteor, barely larger than his palm, glowed and expanded, eventually transforming into a Kom slightly smaller than the small lizard. The small lizard on the ground curiously observed the Kom held by Belusir.
Veronia, amazed, commented,
"I see, transformed into this form? Indeed, Spirit Beast hatching can’t rely on others to break the meteor shell like before."
Belusir placed Kom in front of the small lizard, looked at Veronia, and asked,
"What do you plan to do now?"
"Well..."
"Hmm, the small lizard’s growth is too slow; staying here isn’t a bad idea."
Apparently noticing something, the small lizard turned from Kom, looking pitifully at Veronia while softly chirping. Belusir looked at Veronia and then at the small lizard, saying,
"Looks like you’re really going to become a Beast Tamer."
"Ha, what of it? Surely no one will have objections?"
With a disdainful laugh, Veronia crouched to speak to the small lizard. The newly hatched Kom, ignored by the small lizard, chirped a few times and looked around. Seeing Kom leave, Belusir paid no mind. He sensed Kom, hatched from the meteor, was gathering, likely forming a small Spirit Beast tribe.
As for the small lizard? Judging by the situation, it seemed likely to travel with Veronia. Whether this was good or bad, even Belusir couldn’t discern.
Noticing soldiers planning something for the Kom tribe, Belusir mentioned to Veronia, rushing to where they were.
Because of the commotion, many shops in Soretcher City closed early. Although there was an official explanation later, many still had doubts. Qi Chen and Dou Yanlan walked hand in hand down the street, looking at the stores that appeared slightly deserted. Dou Yanlan commented,
"This scene is somewhat like Wilt Bay at the time—both sudden accidents..."
"He said it was just an experiment, right? It wouldn’t greatly impact Soretcher City?"
Qi Chen scratched his head, puzzled. After all, Feng Yuan had called earlier to explain what had happened. Knowing the truth, they had no particular worries.
Dou Yanlan glanced at Qi Chen and said,
"That’s only if no accidents occur. If something goes wrong, the entire Soretcher City might get drawn in, just like the recent situation in Cariante City..."
"Cariante City?"
Taking out his phone, Qi Chen checked the news and said in disbelief,
"How come! Clearly..."
"It was just a small matter, but it escalated into a disaster engulfing the entire Cariante City. Things like this have happened before. It’s just, typically, it doesn’t concern us much, so we don’t pay attention."
Dou Yanlan said, holding Qi Chen’s hand and continued,
"There’s no way for us to deal with such matters; we can only hope I’m overthinking it. Let’s go; that shop is still open, wonder what’s for sale."
Inside the training ground, Yang Hongzhi glanced at Xiao Hui and Xiao Hei resting, then turned to Najia and asked,
"What’s the situation?"
"There’s not much of an issue. The experiment only produced small meteorites, which wouldn’t pose a significant threat to the surroundings of Soretcher. Yet, the exact circumstances are still unclear, and we’re unsure if any illegal organizations are secretly preparing."
Najia said, shaking his head. Even if those folks appeared, they’d merely be a hassle. As for fear? With Ernis here now, and so many Divine Beasts present, even if the Hunters dared surface, they would be swiftly crushed.
