CHAPTER 55: BLOOD MAGIC VS DIVINE MAGIC

Dragging him for about five hundred meters, he placed him in a relatively open patch that lacked many trees.

"You shall become a warning sign to the world for those who want to participate in something as vile as Body Enchantment." She seethed.

Blood flowed out of the cuts on her palm and started forming a structure.

A crimson altar formed from her blood and she threw Logan on it.

Forming a blade in her hand, she thrust it into the hole she had made with her hand.

Logan’s world went black.

Minerva turned away and failed to see Logan’s hair turn black.

Pulse after pulse of world energy left Logan’s body as his white hair turned black.

Streaks belonging to all elements appeared in his hair.

Minerva stopped in her tracks and turned to look at Logan.

She tilted her head to the side.

"Now that’s interesting. You aren’t meant to lose your hair color and gain streaks when dying." She pondered aloud.

Waving her hand, spikes grew from the altar and impaled Logan.

Blood flowed unnaturally from his body.

The light in his eyes faded only to be replaced by a white glow.

White lightning crackled on his body, increasing in intensity with each passing second.

Minerva watched with cold interest as Logan’s skin gained some color.

"Lightning Magic, light magic? What else?" She walked closer to observe Logan’s peculiar situation.

White flames flared from his body, quickly followed by the ground, letting out a low rumble.

The waters around the island started to surge and fall uncontrollably.

Darkness left his body and spread in the air.

All elements converged to him and then it happened.

A few inches from his body, they merged becoming an ethereal stream of white energy that permeated his body.

Logan started convulsing with his eyes still open and his expression blank.

The clouds darkened and the ground trembled in fear of what was to come.

Lightning descended from the clouds and struck Logan. As the smoke and dust settled, Logan was nowhere to be seen.

Minerva drew blood and formed a shield. She raised it above her head and something collided with it.

The figure became clear - it was Logan.

He vanished in a flash of lightning and appeared in the air.

Minerva set her sights on Logan, and the altar previously created dissolved and became flying spikes.

They fired off with a loud bang at their target.

With a practiced grace, Logan avoided each of the spikes.

As he dodged the last one, a thin string made of blood held his arm.

Then another held his other arm, then his legs, and finally his head.

Minerva smiled crookedly, the spikes she had fired off earlier paused mid-air and converged on Logan.

The latter released a pulse of mana and a massive shield of chaotic wind surrounded him and diverged the path of the spikes.

"TRUE CASTING?!!!" Minerva’s pupils became needle points.

"Impossible!!!" She screamed before she stopped holding back, stopped hesitating.

She slit her wrists and a torrent of blood flowed out.

The crimson fluid formed three large dragons.

Lightning surrounded Logan and his body blurred.

The strings around his wrists tightened and drew blood.

"Nice try." She cackled.

The three dragons flew with breakneck speed to Logan.

The latter’s distant white eyes shook slightly as he saw his doom incoming.

He gritted his teeth and opened his mouth.

A small, white, ethereal sphere formed, but he couldn’t launch it - the dragons were too close.

With a twisted smile, he bit it and triggered a detonation.

A wave of chaotic white energy spread out and erased part of the dragon.

Lightning descended and decimated what was left.

As blood, smoke, and dust settled, Minerva could see that Logan was lacking part of his jaw.

Only the upper part of his jaw was intact.

A white glow surrounded him and he was healed in a near instant.

His veins became black and visible as they wriggled beneath his skin.

The white glow in his eyes spread through his body and enveloped him.

The veins stopped their progression but we’re still present.

"Haemolock Seal." The blood in Logan’s body froze, and he with it.

"Rupture," Minerva muttered and Logan’s heart imploded.

The white glow around him intensified and it healed back into how it first was.

’His magic is not too different from mine and Soul King’s. It makes him nigh-impossible to kill.’ Minerva contemplated.

’But I can still kill him.’

Ripples went through the ground and earthen hands emerged to clasp her.

Minerva nimbly avoided all the arms before weaving throwing knives out of blood.

She heaved them at Logan before attempting to retreat.

Still bound by the threads, Logan was pierced in his stomach, leg, and eye.

The knives dissolved and entered Logan’s bloodstream.

A pulse of darkness ran through him and destroyed him with the tainted blood.

"Light, lightning, water, earth, fire, darkness, and wind," Minerva spoke slowly.

"You can heptacast - a feat that should be impossible. You shouldn’t exist naturally and so I think it’s best that I fix nature’s mistake." She swiped at her jugular and pressurized blood flowed out.

Her body went limp as the blood continued to pour out.

Now, rising from where she once was, was a titan made of blood.

She waved her hand and the string on Logan’s neck tightened.

At the same time, she closed her hands on him.

Logan looked at her attack with his still distant eyes.

His body turned into wind just before the palms collapsed.

"This is a proper A-rank wind spell he just cast." Minerva tutted.

"No matter though, I’ll still kill him."

Crimson mana poured out of the golem that served as Minerva’s body.

Flesh and bone grew on the body of the golem until it formed a 15-meter-tall version of her.

She outstretched her hand into the distance.

Her throne flew in and turned into a long sword - one that she didn’t hesitate to brandish.

Minerva was ready to kill Logan.
