Divine Magus: Awakening
Chapter 56: Blood Magic Vs Divine Magic(2)
CHAPTER 56: BLOOD MAGIC VS DIVINE MAGIC(2)
Still in a trance-like state, Logan had next to no idea what was going on.
But that would soon change.
Minerva planted her sword firmly into her stomach and drew out a river of blood.
Numerous crimson strings formed out of thin air.
"Let’s see you survive this!!!" She burst out laughing.
Several dozen strings converged on Logan who was still in the air.
He alternated between dodging and turning into the wind to avoid certain death.
In his mind space, a bit of clarity was starting to return to Logan.
Flashes of white light filled his eyes before vanishing.
’What is going on?’ Logan’s body paused as this thought ran through him.
Hundreds of strings wrapped themselves around him to prevent his escape.
The view of more than a hundred blood strings encapsulating him sent fear down Logan’s spine but before he could react, his vision darkened again.
His body looked at Minerva and started muttering a spell.
"Oh! Would you look at that? You want to cast a spell?" Minerva cackled as she pulled her blade out of her body and swung it at Logan.
The giant weapon covered the distance between Logan and certain death in mere moments.
His eyes glowed fiercely as he kept on muttering.
A giant sphere of darkness formed mid-air and shot at the incoming sword.
The two collided with the former detonating and throwing the latter aside.
"You have a magic equivalent to mine? I can sense your mana. Your mana is barely D-rank. How is this possible?!" She screamed as beasts made of blood left her titanic body.
The beasts ran to Logan with the latter merely having to release a pulse of white energy.
The pulse completely erased the beasts.
"It’s your magic. Hahaha, that makes sense. Your magic is impure, I can sense it. It’s nothing more than a forced fusion of the magic of thousands. Hahaha, I must find out." Her voice became deranged.
Clarity once again returned to Logan for a brief moment before it faded.
The strings that were wrapped around him tightened and started to draw blood.
They completely tightened with Logan vanishing from her sight with a bloody mist.
The shadows pulsed a few meters away from her and Logan appeared.
His arm was missing, and unlike before, it didn’t heal. Instead, it bled unendingly and unnaturally.
"I completely forgot about your Body Enchantment, another reason I need to kill you." She spat.
Blood gushed out even faster - too much so to be natural. It must have been the Blood Witch’s doing.
With a flick of her wrist, a small drop of blood entered the injury but before Logan could react, an inconceivable amount of pain hit him.
Falling to his knees and screaming, clarity was fast approaching him.
Minerva raised her leg and brought it down on Logan.
As her foot descended, a large hole appeared in it.
The appendage hit the ground with a large boom that sent torrents of wind flying.
Through the hole, Logan could be seen holding his tachi in his hand.
White flames flickered on its surface and licked its edge.
His brown eyes focused on the Colossus that had tried to kill him.
Just gaining clarity a few moments ago, Logan was beyond surprised to see a giant foot about to crush him, and that he had only one arm.
And so, without thinking or hesitation, he gripped his blade and channelled a dark shot, but mid-cast, it had turned into something else- something far more potent.
Without studying the phenomenon, he thrust the blade into the foot, and much to his surprise, it had caused large amounts of damage.
If not for certain circumstances, the successful casting of that spell would have destroyed his pseudo-core.
Minerva stared with shock as Logan fixed his eyes on her.
Somehow, she felt like he was far more dangerous now.
’No matter.’ She scoffed as her foot started to regenerate.
Logan’s body started to blur and he vanished.
’Different from the lightning spell. It’s darkness.’ She deduced.
Logan flashed and vanished on the ground, he wasn’t going to question how he was casting spells right now because he was a mistake away from certain death.
He didn’t even notice that he had cast a spell without noticing.
He jumped and ran up her arm while avoiding the creatures and obstacles she conjured with her blood.
Barely reaching the shoulder, Logan knew he had no time to waste.
He jumped off and waited until he was in front of where her heart should be.
Channeling his mana and casting a dark shot, a white sphere appeared and fired off in place.
The sphere touched Minerva’s chest and it vanished - simply erased from existence.
Her eyes widened at Logan’s lethality.
Swinging her arm to hit Logan, she connected and sent him crashing into the ground.
The young mage tried to stand from the Crater formed by his crash but fell.
Using his sword as an aid, he managed to stand but still staggered.
He tightened his grip around its handle and let out a brief chuckle.
Mana flowed out of him as a white stream of energy coated his blade.
Swinging the blade, he unleashed a large arc that severed the Titan through its chest.
Minerva scoffed before healing the hole on her chest and the severance.
She was about to take a step when the slash through the chest appeared once again but this time wider.
Focusing on the damage, she healed it in less than a second only for it to appear again.
Thus began the cycle of the wound appearing with each successive one being more lethal than the last.
Unable to heal herself, Minerva soon found white cracks running through her body.
"The only sad part about this is your eventual death. You are using A-rank magic when being only D-rank. Your mana and magic might be a mass fusion of others’ but that doesn’t exempt you from the laws of the world." She let out a smug smile as the cracks completely covered her.
"See you in hell." And then she vanished
