After a long time of chattering and an interview filled with blood and screams of pain, Tang Yin threw the last dead body into the lake and stretched.

"So there's a Human-Demon war happening in this world, huh. Interesting." He smiled as he remembered the name of the person who was leading the humans.

An old acquaintance and a brave woman on the battlefield.

The Ruler of the Mountains, the Cultivator Zi.

In seniority, few match her, and in power, she is the most powerful in this region.

He owed her a favor long ago.

"I think it's a good idea to start paying it back." He looked at Qingyue lying beside him and grabbed her.

He carried her in his arms and began to fly.

Soon he flew over the entire Eternal Sea World, its mountains, frequent lakes, and great seas.

As he had found out, everything was under a total and boisterous war that threatened to destroy entire cities.

Both warring races were at their height and were apparently receiving help from beings from other worlds. That's why they were so confident.

A meeting was taking place in the deepest chambers of the Mountain Castle.

Numerous powerful men were talking and glorying in their glory, while others... This is part of a series from My Virtual Library Empire (M|V|L1EMPYR).

"We have to eradicate them."

"I agree with the Ninth Elder." Replied the first. "The Demons won't stay quiet just because they gain a little territory." He looked at a beautiful woman sitting on the main throne.

"Lady Zi, don't listen to what the senile old men over there say." He pointed to a group that advocated reaching another kind of agreement with those guys. "We've signed four peace agreements with them and they've all been broken. You can't negotiate with those bastards. We have to destroy them or just take over their land."

"And how do you intend to supply the immense need for labor in those desolate lands!? Who's going to get the resources hidden in those desert mountains!?"

"Right, right! We're advocating for the World not to go to shit around their economy! Be that as it may, the demons are important in the economic scheme of the world!"

"We've already won a temporary victory. We need to put pressure on them!"

The first elder fumed at how angry those idiots were making him, "So what the fuck do you want to do then!?"

"You want us to make peace, so that in 100 years they will annihilate our people again!?"

"The First Elder is right!" Added the Ninth and Seventh at the same time. "We can still make those guys work for us. But we need to control them. If they decide to all commit suicide, to hell with it. We can't keep watching them kill our people whenever they feel like it."

"Damn you, if the economy goes down, it will be worse for our people! More will die!"

"I'd rather they starve to death than be eaten by those damn traitors!"

"You...!"

"Silence."

A soft, but powerful voice brought everyone to silence. The shouting ceased, and even the murmuring died down.

She looked out the window and frowned.

"The Demons have greater resources than we do, in that regard. For they are the only ones capable of working inside those mountains." She said suddenly.

"Do you understand, Lady Zi?" one of those who supported re-signing a peace agreement spoke up, but she stared at him.

She seemed to say, Didn't I just say to keep quiet?

So he returned to his place and lowered his head, embarrassed.

She then spoke again.

"But they are bloodthirsty, and when they feel like it, they devour our people. Demons have no place in the Eternal Sea World." She was firm as she stood up.

"If the economy goes to shit, so be it. If we can't get the resources from those mountains, so be it. We'll sign an agreement with the Beasts and attack them from all sides. If they refuse to surrender, we will exterminate them." She pulled out her spear and placed it on the table.

"The Demon Negotiating Table will henceforth have my spear as mediator. Whoever refuses to surrender, I will kill him. Whoever accepts surrender will receive its protection. Any idiot who dares to say anything about a peace pact with those damned bastards will suffer the same fate."

With that, one group stood triumphant—the smallest. Most of the elders frowned at this strong statement.

The first, seventh, and ninth elders stood up to support her. There were other elders there as well, but the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and over 13 additional elders supported the other side, so they couldn't help but worry.

They all had reasons for supporting one side or the other. Some had selfish motives, and others had real concerns.

Still, they all agreed that this situation had to be resolved somehow.

After seeing that no one objected to her words, other than those who had already done so, she turned around.

"Lest anyone disagree, I will go to the front of the onslaught. If I die, I hope that one of the elders who do not support my stance will rise to my position. That will be payment enough for my wrongdoing." She declared.

With that, she left the room.

She went to her own quarters, poured herself some wine, and looked out the balcony at the mountain city below her.

It was a huge city that was divided into as many as five other cities.

It had taken her years to make this place so prosperous, but it seemed that now the likelihood of losing it all was approaching.

With a long sigh, she took her first sip of wine.

"The wine of the Eternal Sea has deteriorated."

Suddenly, a man's voice sounded from beside her, and she turned sharply in the direction from which it came.

A handsome-looking man with silver hair was pouring himself some of the wine she herself had brought up to the balcony table.

Next to him was a woman who looked like she had just woken up from a long sleep.

Still, she couldn't help but keep her gaze fixed on the man there.

He smiled at her.

"It's been a long time, Cultivator Zi. It really has been a long time." Tang Yin smiled.
