Liu Ergou couldn't possibly refuse He Mingxue's suggestion. To refuse would only mean one thing: he was an idiot.

So, Liu Ergou shifted his position, lying down once again on the large hotel bed. As he lay there, Liu Ergou stretched out languidly.

This bed is amazing, he lamented inwardly. I can stretch my legs out, and it's so soft. It feels incredibly comfortable.

With that thought, Liu Ergou rolled over. Just then, He Mingxue suddenly asked him a question.

"By the way, Er Gou, when we were coming to the hotel, did you notice any cars following us? Or see anyone staring at us?"

Hearing her words, Liu Ergou thought back carefully. He then shook his head with certainty.

"No," he replied. "No cars were following us. Besides, I'm very sensitive to other people's gazes. If someone were staring at me, I would have noticed it immediately!"

Hearing this, He Mingxue didn't press the matter. Instead, she just sighed and walked into the bathroom.

Liu Ergou rolled over again, preparing to take a short nap. But before he could even close his eyes, He Mingxue's voice came from the bathroom again. "Hey, Er Gou, I'm going to take a shower. Could you please keep watch for me? Thanks!"

Hearing the word "shower," Liu Ergou's spirits instantly lifted. He sat bolt upright in bed and looked toward the bathroom. However, all that greeted his eyes was a solid wall.

This infuriated him.

Who in the world designed this hotel? What a despicable person! Logically, this should be a pane of frosted, semi-transparent glass. Why is it a wall now? This is so frustrating!

But despite his anger, Liu Ergou sat up straight and dutifully kept watch for He Mingxue.

Half an hour passed in the blink of an eye. Finally, He Mingxue emerged, wrapped in a bath towel with her face flushed red. Seeing her like this, Liu Ergou couldn't help but take a few extra glances. He had to admit, in this state, He Mingxue was truly a sight to behold.

Under Liu Ergou's intensely aggressive gaze, He Mingxue's face grew even redder. Within moments, it was the color of a ripe apple.

Looking at Liu Ergou, she spoke in a voice barely louder than a whisper, "Um, Er Gou, can you please stop staring at me? It's really embarrassing!"

Her words finally snapped Liu Ergou back to his senses. He slapped his forehead and quickly averted his gaze.

Seeing that he was no longer looking, He Mingxue scurried to the bed, dove under the covers, and after a brief rustle of activity, changed into her pajamas.

A moment later, she poked her head out and said cautiously, "Er Gou, I'm done. Why don't you go take a shower, too? You've had a long day. A shower will help you relax."

Naturally, Liu Ergou agreed.

I'm about to sleep next to a beautiful woman, after all, he thought. It would be mortifying if I smelled bad. Besides, I really did run around and work up a sweat today. It would be a lie to say I don't stink.

Without another moment of hesitation, Liu Ergou dashed into the bathroom and started his shower. It wasn't long before he finished and walked back out. However, he had forgotten one crucial detail today: he wasn't staying with one of his own women, but with He Mingxue.

When she saw him walk out wearing nothing but his underwear, she couldn't help but let out a shriek.

"AH! Liu Ergou! Wh-why did you come out dressed like that!"

Hearing her cry, Liu Ergou realized his mistake and quickly looked down at himself. He then looked up with an expression of helplessness. "I didn't mean to. I was originally planning on going home, but this was so sudden that I don't have a change of clothes. This is all I've got."

After his explanation, He Mingxue fell silent. Seeing that she had stopped talking, Liu Ergou chuckled, strode over to the bed, and lifted the covers, ready to slide in.

However, as he lifted the quilt, he made a sudden discovery. There was only one blanket on the bed. Liu Ergou was instantly dumbfounded.

"No way!" he exclaimed in despair. "How can there be only one blanket! If there's only one, what am I supposed to use? I can't just sleep with nothing!"

Hearing this, He Mingxue burst out laughing.

"Hahaha, you're hilarious, Liu Ergou!" she said through her laughter. "One blanket is fine. We can just share!"

Her words were exactly what Liu Ergou wanted to hear. Before she could say anything else, he swiftly burrowed under the covers.

Seeing how quickly he moved, He Mingxue couldn't help but add a warning. "Let's get this straight. Even though we're sharing a blanket, you better not try anything funny! If you do, I'll scream for help!"

In response, Liu Ergou simply rolled his eyes, turned his back to her, and fell into a deep sleep within minutes.

Normally, Liu Ergou wouldn't have fallen asleep so easily. But for some reason, he was overwhelmingly drowsy tonight, dozing off almost the instant he closed his eyes.

「The next morning.」

When Liu Ergou woke up, he scratched his messy hair and prepared to get up for his usual body refining technique practice. However, as he tried to sit up, he realized something was wrong. His body felt incredibly heavy, and one of his arms was completely numb.

This gave him a serious scare.

He looked down carefully and saw He Mingxue, sleeping soundly while using his arm as a pillow. Not only that, but she had also draped half of her body across his. This was the real reason he felt so heavy.

Looking at her sleeping so peacefully, Liu Ergou shook his head helplessly but had no intention of waking her. It was still early, after all, and he had only woken up to cultivate.

He sighed, then very carefully began to ease his arm out from under her head. But his movement caused He Mingxue to frown, looking as if she were about to wake up. This scared Liu Ergou so much that he didn't dare move another inch, lying there as stiff as a board.

He lay there like that for several hours. By the time He Mingxue finally woke up, Liu Ergou had long missed the window for his body refining practice.

Waking up, He Mingxue first rubbed her sleep-filled eyes before looking up at Liu Ergou. The sight, however, gave her quite a fright.
