For a time, Liu Ergou was lost in thought. He couldn't focus on cultivation, his mind consumed with the Body Tempering Art, wondering why his progress had surged so dramatically. After mulling it over for a while, his gaze finally settled on Mi Xiaoying. After all, he hadn't done anything else yesterday; the only significant thing he'd done was claim Mi Xiaoying.

I should go see Mi Xiaoying later, he thought. With that decided, Liu Ergou calmed his mind and began to cultivate.

The cultivation session ended quickly. After a simple breakfast, Liu Ergou put on his clothes, left the villa, and headed back to Ting Tian Pavilion. A moment later, he arrived.

Just like the day before, he went straight to the second floor upon entering Ting Tian Pavilion. To his surprise, however, no one stopped him today. He walked unimpeded directly into Mi Xiaoying's office.

Liu Ergou sat on the sofa, a wide grin on his face as he looked at Mi Xiaoying sitting behind her desk. The sight made Mi Xiaoying's brow furrow.

"What are you doing here again, Liu Ergou?" she demanded. "You're not welcome here, so get out. I've already paid you back every last cent!"

Her angry tone only made Liu Ergou's grin widen. Staring at the grinning man who had taken her first time, Mi Xiaoying was furious.

Just as Mi Xiaoying was about to say something more, Liu Ergou suddenly patted the sofa beside him. "Come here!"

"No!" Mi Xiaoying flatly refused.

Liu Ergou wasn't upset. He simply asked again, "Why not?"

His question made her grind her teeth in fury.

"You're asking me why, Liu Ergou?!" she seethed. "Do you honestly not know? Must I spell it out for you? I could barely walk this morning!"

Hearing this, Liu Ergou laughed out loud, stood up, and walked straight up to her. Today, she was still in a skirt, but she had swapped her black stockings for white ones. Liu Ergou's eyebrows rose slightly at the sight, but he remained silent. Instead, he reached out and tilted her chin up.

A shiver ran through Mi Xiaoying. "Liu Ergou, don't you dare try anything today! If you do that again, it'll kill me! Besides, I've paid you back all the money, so don't you..."

Liu Ergou cut her off. "President Mi, I never said anything about the money. I just want to know how we're going to settle what happened before. Can you give me an answer?"

As soon as he spoke, Mi Xiaoying glared at him.

In truth, Liu Ergou hadn't come just because of his Body Tempering Art. He was here to settle things once and for all. He knew Mi Xiaoying must hate him after what he'd done. Liu Ergou ignored her question. "I'm not asking for compensation. I just wanted to talk. And about that stone gambling... why did you want to see me then? Were you planning to double-cross me? Or..."

You really have a persecution complex!"

Her words left Liu Ergou stunned. He had never dreamed her reason for seeking him out was so simple. It seems I really was overthinking things.

Seeing his silence, Mi Xiaoying continued, "You think I wanted to see you? If it weren't for that upcoming stone gambling event, I wouldn't have bothered. We were just short on experts! Who would have thought... Hmph!"

At this, Mi Xiaoying was too angry to speak. Looking at her, rendered speechless, Liu Ergou started to feel a pang of embarrassment.

Yet, upon hearing her words, Liu Ergou wasn't angry at all.
