Domestication of Divine Beasts at the Beginning
Chapter 33 – Warriors, I will take you home
As Mr. Wenyuan and Su Bai were discussing the secrets of being a Beast Tamer, the deputy commander, having finished tallying the casualties, ran over to report:
"Mr. Wenyuan, the casualties from this battle have been fully accounted for."
"We lost six hundred and eighty-two people, with two hundred and eighteen severely injured, and most of the rest sustaining minor injuries."
"Report complete, awaiting your instructions!"
Mr. Wenyuan nodded at the deputy commander, who was covered in wounds, and patted him on the shoulder, saying:
"Everyone has worked hard, you are all heroes!"
"Let's go, I'll take you home!"
At the mention of going home, the students, whose eyes had been vacant due to the battle, suddenly lit up.
Wave after wave of Nether Cats had turned their roommates, classmates, and even mentors into minced meat, leaving them forever on this battlefield.
This cold battlefield forged the surviving students into iron-willed and resolute individuals, but the thought of going home finally allowed them to relax.
The boys' eyes reddened as they held back tears, while the girls hugged each other in groups, crying.
At this moment, they remembered that they were only eighteen years old, just freshmen in college.
Even the deputy commander, a veteran of fifteen years, was moved by the scene, his eyes reddening as he saluted Mr. Wenyuan again.
"Yes!"
The severely injured students were carried on backs, while the rest used their weapons as crutches, slowly making their way back to the camp.
When they arrived, they were still young and naive freshmen from the Martial Academy.
A group of over twelve hundred, each face filled with the tension and curiosity of heading to the battlefield.
But on the way back, only a little over five hundred remained, each bearing wounds, but the tension and naivety had faded.
The ten-kilometer return journey was slow, taking over two hours, with Mr. Wenyuan silently leading the way.
Five members of the rapid response team guarded the students, swiftly killing any wandering Nether Cats.
...
Outside the F269 Military Base.
After slaying the last Nether Cat, the commander wiped the bloodied blade on his clothes and sheathed it.
"Brothers, we've killed all the Nether Cats here, quickly clean up the battlefield!"
"The deputy commander is waiting for us to support him!"
"Zhang Dabiao, take your company and come with me to support the deputy commander, let's hope they can hold on!"
Zhang Dabiao responded and immediately turned to organize his men.
Just then, the camp's communicator rushed to the commander, reporting:
"Report! Just received orders from above, Deputy Commander Wang Jinyang and the Martial Academy mentors and students have finished the battle, killing over eight hundred Nether Cats, including one Silver Tier and twenty-four Bronze Tier."
"They are currently returning under Mr. Wenyuan's leadership, and we are to prepare to receive them!"
After the report, the commander breathed a sigh of relief, nodded, and said:
"The battle's over? That's good..."
Then, the commander realized and, with wide eyes, incredulously repeated to the communicator:
"What? Say that again?"
"Silver Tier?!! How is that possible!"
The communicator was startled by the commander's reaction, but he had the same response when he first received the orders, so he confirmed it with the commander three times before the commander accepted the fact.
The commander stood there, stunned, muttering:
"Damn, these kids are something else, they even took down a Silver Tier!"
"Old Wang might not be deputy commander for long, he's bound to get promoted soon!"
Suddenly, the commander seemed to remember something and shouted, "Zhang Dabiao! Get back here! We don't need to support the deputy commander anymore!"
"Everyone, clean up the battlefield as fast as possible!"
"Within an hour, there shouldn't be a single Nether Cat corpse outside the camp!"
"Move it! Get going!"
The communicator's words reached some of the soldiers, who began discussing the deputy commander and the Martial Academy students' feat of taking down a Silver Tier Nether Cat.

As the sun set, a group finally saw the F269 Military Base.
By then, the battlefield had been cleared by the soldiers, and the base commander personally led five hundred soldiers, forming two long lines at the camp entrance to welcome the return of the Martial Academy mentors and students.
The soldiers' formation stretched for hundreds of meters, each soldier eagerly awaiting the return of the heroes.
Seeing Mr. Wenyuan leading the group back, the commander smiled and shouted:
"Attention!"
"Salute!"
Hundreds of soldiers raised their right arms in a synchronized salute.
"Raise the flags!"
Dozens of Human Race Battle Banners were raised high by the soldiers.
The blood-red banners, adorned with the Great Wall's emblem, fluttered in the wind.
Where the banners fly is where humanity stands unyielding on the Myriad Races Battlefield.
The commander continued to shout:
"Beat the drums!"
"Boom boom boom!"
The rousing sound of war drums reached the students' ears, making them feel lighter, as if their fatigue had lessened.
The drumbeats continued, and the commander, filled with vigor, shouted again:
"Long Nation's Great Wall."
Five hundred soldiers shouted in unison:
"With us, it stands unbroken!"
"Myriad Races slaughter."
"We are the vanguard!"
"Unyielding in a hundred battles."
"Humanity will prevail!"
The shouts soared into the sky, echoing across the land.
Each soldier clenched their fists, placing their right hand over their heart, their expressions resolute and fearless, as if trying to dispel the shadow of the recent battle from the students' hearts.
The students were inspired by this unyielding spirit, and regardless of their injuries, they raised their weapons and joined the soldiers in shouting.
"Humanity will prevail!"
"Humanity will prevail!"
After the shouts, everyone, led by the commander, proceeded to the military hospital for initial treatment of their injuries.
Since they were all Martial Artists, as long as the injuries weren't fatal, recovery was relatively quick.
With the hospital's medical treatment and their own blood and energy's self-healing abilities, most of the lightly injured students were nearly healed.
The severely injured would be arranged to continue treatment back at the Martial Academy.
During this time, the commander sent soldiers to retrieve the bodies of those who had died in battle.
After a brief rest, the students slowly began to recover from the battlefield environment.
