CHAPTER 103: CHAPTER 103: CRAWLING INTO HIS BLANKET
He turned around and changed direction to open the door. It was the food delivery.
Having not eaten all day, seeing food now made him very hungry.
Sitting in front of the dining table, he felt a bit embarrassed since he was only wearing a shirt. Luckily, the shirt was long enough, making it seem alright.
After dinner, Gu Qimiao saw him go downstairs and come back with a set of bedding. It included only a grass mat and a quilt. He walked over and spread the mat on the empty space beside the bed...
He was going to sleep on the floor? So she was overthinking it...
She watched him silently as he bent down to lay out the mat. It wasn’t even the season for sleeping on mats yet. It was so cold, and the ground was damp. Gu Qimiao softly said, "...Let’s sleep together. It’s too damp on the ground, you’ll get sick."
Shen Yanchen paused his actions, completely surprised that she would suggest sleeping together. He saw her shuffle to the side under the quilt, signaling him to take the other half of the bed, and her dark eyes stared at him unblinkingly.
This kind of opportunity wasn’t something he would pass up. He rolled up the mat, put it aside, threw the quilt onto the bed, and sat down at the edge.
The bed was originally a double bed; both of them slept on the edges with a large space left in the middle.
He lay down with his back to her and turned off the bedside lamp. The room darkened, with only the faint light from outside filtering in, just enough to outline the room’s structure.
Gu Qimiao turned her head and looked. She could just see the back of his head. She tugged at the quilt and fell asleep with a smile on her lips.
Shen Yanchen had been caught in the rain and felt a bit dizzy, falling asleep faster than usual.
The room was silent, and the night slowly deepened.
In the middle of the night, Gu Qimiao woke up with a physiological need. She got out of bed and went to the restroom. When she came back, she shivered from the cold and quickly returned to the bed without saying a word.
But the cold had woken her up quite a bit. Now it was deep into the night, and he seemed fast asleep, right?
She only dared to turn around and boldly look at his sleeping face. As she watched, a slightly mischievous idea formed in her mind.
Her big eyes moved around a few times before she slowly used her foot to push her quilt to the floor. Then, she gradually shifted her body toward his side, moving cautiously, fearing the creaking of the wooden bed would wake him.
She stopped when her back was almost touching his. Then she gently tugged his quilt over herself, slowly moving entirely into his quilt.
Her heart raced chaotically due to her actions. It felt like she had completed a monumental task, and she sighed in relief.
Then, with a smile, she turned to look at him. As she turned, his neat short hair brushed against her face, causing a ticklish sensation. Growing bolder, she made one last move, pressing her back tightly against his. Their body temperatures melded together, her cold feet nestled against his calves, and she tightly closed her eyes.
Even if he woke up now, he would only think she had unconsciously snuggled into his quilt after her own fell to the floor.
On any other day, he would have woken up as soon as she got up to use the restroom. But today, the cold, dizziness, and deep sleep kept him unaware of her cheeky actions behind him.
The next morning, it was still raining. Shen Yanchen frowned as he opened his eyes and slightly turned to the side, planning to roll over, but felt something against his back. Turning his head, he saw the little woman curled up against his back.
His frowning brow suddenly relaxed. He slowly turned to lie on his side, propping his head up with one hand and gazing at her. When did she snuggle up here?
He pulled the quilt over her properly before getting out of bed. Seeing her quilt on the floor, he silently picked it up and placed it beside her. Her habit of kicking the quilt off hadn’t changed.
