CHAPTER 10: CHAPTER 10: WHAT ARE YOU UP TO, HUBBY?

"Since you know it’s the wedding night, why are you in a place like this?"

Kyle Keaton’s breath was clean and cool, but July Quinn could still sense an undercurrent of danger.

She casually wrapped her arms around the man’s neck, her tone flippant, "The wedding night and hubby’s not home, I had to come out and catch him in the act."

Of course, she also didn’t forget to defend herself.

"Maybe I just couldn’t bear the emptiness and loneliness, and I can’t stand those sneaky dealings, so I couldn’t help but act out heroically."

As long as he didn’t catch her with evidence against Nathan Jacobs, she had room to argue.

The woman’s sharp tongue once again opened Kyle Keaton’s eyes.

Little did he know, the reason the police had entered Blue Realm so smoothly to take those two away was because he’d caught her making the call, so he specifically let them through.

Otherwise, do you think anyone can just easily take people out of Blue Realm in cuffs?

As a result, this woman, who got his backup, was acting ignorant despite knowing the truth.

Great!

Since that’s the case, he might as well follow her lead, and swiftly lifted her.

July Quinn was forced to wrap her legs around his waist to maintain her balance.

But such an intimate gesture was too much for July Quinn, and her face turned crimson.

Yet this mischievous man leaned in close to her ear with a low query.

"So, if I keep you from feeling empty, lonely, and cold, you won’t stir up trouble for me?"

Feeling his breath lingering around her sensitive spots, July Quinn gritted her teeth.

After all, even though she had been seeing Nathan Jacobs for over a year, they’d never been this close.

However, she still restrained the urge to leave scratches all over his handsome face, coquettishly poking at his Adam’s apple.

"You could say that."

Feeling provoked by the woman, Kyle Keaton narrowed his sharp eyes.

They both were testing each other’s limits!

But just then, footsteps suddenly approached them.

Coming right after, there was Miles Jacobs’ voice.

"Yo, how’d you end up here?"

"Came out for a smoke."

As Kyle Keaton responded, he suddenly noticed that the woman in his arms had crumpled his shirt with her grip.

Even the legs wrapped around his waist tightened considerably.

Kyle Keaton raised an eyebrow.

She was nervous!

She didn’t want others to know about her presence?

Miles Jacobs felt Kyle Keaton’s voice was somewhat odd. As he squinted through the dim light, he saw that Kyle Keaton actually had a pair of legs wrapped around his waist.

"Tsk tsk, you’ve been indulging?"

Miles Jacobs intended to step closer, curious about the owner of those graceful legs.

But as his footsteps approached, July Quinn tightened her grip, burying her head into Kyle Keaton’s embrace.

Kyle Keaton also didn’t want others to see July Quinn in such an enticing state.

Though he didn’t know why he was having such thoughts.

"Still considering the investment in Caelan Bay?"

Miles Jacobs quickly retracted his steps: "Deal, deal. Enjoy yourself, I must head back early today."

"Something up?"

"Just got a call, my nephew got swept up in an anti-vice raid. I need to go and get him out."

"Oh, then you better get going."

The conversation between the two men, with terms like "nephew" and "anti-vice," flickered something in July Quinn’s mind.

Only, her legs were still wrapped around Kyle Keaton’s waist, and her brain didn’t have enough capacity left to analyze what those terms could mean.

As soon as Miles Jacobs left, July Quinn struggled to get off Kyle Keaton.

Unexpectedly, the damn man not only didn’t let her go but also tightened his hold around her waist.

"Hubby, what do you think you’re doing?" July Quinn furrowed her brows, somewhat displeased.

The man remained unmoved, those deep eyes, enough to swallow everything, just stared at her.

"Thinking of doing something to make you feel less empty, lonely, and cold."
