Don't Fall For Me, CEO
Chapter 30: You Should Leave Now
CHAPTER 30: CHAPTER 30: YOU SHOULD LEAVE NOW
"Ugh..."
Apparently, Nathan Jacobs didn’t expect his carefully crafted act of affection would be rejected by July Quinn.
He looked at July Quinn, utterly confused.
July Quinn, however, showed no sign of hiding her disdain: "Put away your fake facade, the one who’s close with you is the Quinn Family heir Nina Quinn, not me."
Whenever she remembered how she actually got involved with such scum before, July Quinn felt like she was going to vomit yesterday’s dinner.
After snubbing Nathan Jacobs coldly, July Quinn spoke bluntly: "What do you want from me? Say it and then scram!"
Nathan Jacobs is all about his interests, so he’s definitely not here for nothing.
Now that he’s approached her and said so much, he must have a purpose for seeking her.
Nathan Jacobs was wasting so many words with July Quinn because he worried that being straightforward would make her recoil like before.
But July Quinn had clearly already guessed his intentions, and he couldn’t be bothered to continue pretending.
"Bring back the previous styling team to help Nina. As long as you accomplish it, whether it’s money or work, I can arrange it for you."
No other choice, the team he found for Nina Quinn before didn’t deliver, making him lose face in front of Nina Quinn.
To make up for it, he specifically came to find July Quinn.
"The styling team refused to cooperate because you people lack credibility, what does it have to do with me?"
July Quinn didn’t even think about it, she just declined outright.
"There’s an old saying, ’The one who ties the knot must untie it.’ As long as you ask them again, they should return."
"Do you think someone as insignificant as me can persuade them just like that?"
"Since you know there’s no guarantee they’d come back, why didn’t you sign a contract with them in the first place?"
"I didn’t know you guys would be so vicious to let Nina Quinn replace me and take all the credit for my hard work."
July Quinn said irritably.
Honestly, she couldn’t understand how the Quinn Family and Nathan Jacobs dared to threaten her into doing things.
If it weren’t for the memory of her late grandfather, some people’s graves would likely be overgrown by now, right?
"Fine, if you can’t bring them back, you can’t. Don’t dwell on past grievances. The reason I came to find you today is to inform you that this weekend is your dad’s birthday, and I’ll host a birthday banquet for him at The Continental Hotel. Here’s the invitation."
Having hit a dead end with the styling team issue, Nathan Jacobs had no more words, so he simply pulled out the invitation and handed it to July Quinn.
But July Quinn took the invitation without even looking at it and threw it back into his car.
"Isn’t this your duty? He’s your father-in-law, there’s no need to show off in front of me."
"Don’t be so prickly. I’m giving you the invitation not to show off, but because you’ve blacklisted your family’s numbers, none of them can contact you. So since I ran into you today, I thought I’d give you the invitation myself, that’s all."
"Besides, no matter what, Uncle Quinn is your father. As a family, there shouldn’t be any lasting grudges. So it’s better you attend his birthday banquet to prevent outsiders from gossiping."
Nathan Jacobs spoke with apparent sincerity, but July Quinn still considered him to be nothing but showing off.
If it’s not flaunting accomplishments, then it’s flaunting superiority, flaunting that he can book the side hall at The Continental Hotel.
To stop him from further showing off, and to prevent him from pestering more, July Quinn grudgingly took the invitation.
"Alright, I’ll go."
"July..." Seeing July Quinn take the invitation, Nathan Jacobs’ eyes lit up, intending to say more.
But July Quinn didn’t wait for him to finish, simply saying: "You should leave now."
Nathan Jacobs: "..."
In the end, he could only swallow his remaining words, hit the accelerator, and leave.
July Quinn saw off the nagging Nathan Jacobs, feeling relieved.
Little did she know, a limited edition silver-gray Maserati had been parked across the street a few minutes ago.
The man in the car had been observing her interaction with Nathan Jacobs.
