CHAPTER 33: CHAPTER 33: IT’S HIM OR ME

Upon hearing Kyle Keaton change his tone, Miles Jacobs’ eyes lit up, eagerly awaiting what Kyle Keaton would say next.

Nathan Jacobs, however, wore a sullen face, looking as if he knew the assistant would eventually change his stance.

But he also kept his gaze on Kyle Keaton, waiting to see what terms he would propose.

"For the Caelan Sea project, it’s either me or him, with him or without me."

As Nathan Jacobs watched, Kyle Keaton lightly parted his thin lips.

The words spoken almost made the management in the meeting room look at him with eyes full of bewilderment.

No matter how much Mr. Jacobs valued Assistant Keaton, he was still just an assistant.

How could Mr. Jacobs possibly drive his own nephew out of such an important project for the sake of a mere assistant?

Not only did the company’s management think this way, but even Nathan Jacobs thought the same.

No matter how much his uncle disliked him, they were blood relatives after all.

With such a lucrative project, how could his uncle kick him out and let someone else make the money?

But just as everyone thought Kyle Keaton would be humiliatingly slapped down, their own faces were slashed swollen by Miles Jacobs.

Because Miles Jacobs said, "No problem, I’ll immediately have Mr. Jacobs withdraw from the Caelan Sea project."

As soon as Miles Jacobs finished speaking, Nathan Jacobs began screaming hysterically.

"Uncle, I’ve been in charge of the research work for the Caelan Sea project from the start; I’ve handled all the other matters too. Now you want to exclude me from this project for an insignificant person?"

For the past two months, Nathan Jacobs has practically been running around for this project every day.

But now, just as the project is about to start, he’s been excluded?

How could Nathan Jacobs resign himself to this?

So while he was shouting, he glared angrily at Kyle Keaton, with a posture brimming with the urge to tear him apart.

Yet Kyle Keaton merely glanced at him indifferently, "I’m the insignificant person?"

In fact, he barely had any impression of Miles Jacobs’ nephew, even though he had been defied by him several times, none warranted his attention.

Not even when Miles Jacobs mentioned that July Quinn had been involved with his nephew.

But today, he caught this nephew chatting with July Quinn on the street, even handing over something to her.

Therefore, he found Nathan Jacobs rather irritating.

And since Nathan Jacobs came to challenge him, he shouldn’t blame him for being ruthless.

Regarding why he did all this for July Quinn, Kyle Keaton thought perhaps it was a matter of face.

Even though he and July Quinn had signed the divorce agreement, as of now, July Quinn was still his wife nominally, and he certainly wouldn’t allow any flirtations enticing her away.

Faced with Kyle Keaton’s retort, Nathan Jacobs hadn’t even had time to respond before Miles Jacobs answered on his behalf.

"No, no, no, Assistant Keaton, you’re absolutely important. The insignificant one is him."

After buttering up to Kyle Keaton, Miles Jacobs turned back and once again coldly berated Nathan Jacobs.

"Nathan Jacobs, I won’t just remove you from the project, I also want you to stay home reflecting for a few months. You’re quite grown yet still don’t know how to speak properly."

Daring to call the party responsible for such an important project insignificant, truly a nerve of steel.

Not suspending Nathan Jacobs, he himself almost felt embarrassed.

"Uncle?"

In that moment, Nathan Jacobs seemed to realize the severity of the situation.

But the outcome had already been decided.

"Even if you call my father, it won’t help. Grab your things right now and go home to reflect."

Without another glance, Miles Jacobs promptly continued persuading Kyle Keaton back to the conference table.

"Assistant Keaton, you can see I’ve reprimanded who needed reprimanding, excluded who needed excluding. The Caelan Sea project is about to start, why don’t we hurry and settle what needs to be settled..."

Perhaps Miles Jacobs’ handling satisfied Kyle Keaton, as he soon returned to the conference table.

The meeting continued.

Watching their busy backs, Nathan Jacobs felt like a joke.

He angrily stared at Kyle Keaton, who still appeared somewhat inattentive while presiding over the meeting, clenching his fingers deeply into his palms.

He remembered this vendetta.

One day, he vowed to repay it tenfold.
